@marafie if you want to force a mmtune manually you can use cd ~/myopenaps && /etc/init.d/cron stop && killall -g openaps ; killall -g oref0-pump-loop ; reset_spi_serial.py && openaps mmtune && /etc/init.d/cron start
That will stop the cron and any openaps processes, do an mmtune, report the results, and then strart the cron back up

@Kdisimone I've read through the oref0 repository on GitHub, on a local copy on my PC, and on my rig. I get much of the structure and function. (OK, perhaps about half...) I've got sufficient programming experience in other languages and settings, but don't have any node.js experience. I seems like I should be able to just add a line of code like console.error('foo!'); in the code and get foo! to show up in the logs, but haven't been able to do this.

Why do you keep running a command that isn't working? Running it once is sufficient. Running it again and again isn't giving any new information. When you reboot, what did your pump logs show?
@parenthetic it would depend I suppose on which file you are editing and whether that area is captured in log files. Which lines/files are you looking at?

@Kdisimone The file I'm tinkering is is /root/src/oref0/lib/determine-basal/determine-basal.js. I've tried adding console.error("FOO!!!"); at line 53, and I've tried replacing ``` rT = {
'temp': 'absolute'
, 'bg': bg
, 'tick': tick
, 'eventualBG': eventualBG
, 'snoozeBG': snoozeBG
};
Whoops.
... and I've tried replacing
rT = { 'temp': 'absolute' , 'bg': bg , 'tick': tick , 'eventualBG': eventualBG , 'snoozeBG': snoozeBG };
at lines 188-194
with
rT = {'FOO!!!', 'temp': 'absolute' , 'bg': bg , 'tick': tick , 'eventualBG': eventualBG , 'snoozeBG': snoozeBG };
And neither of them seem to produce `FOO!!!' in my logs.

@parenthetic wouldn't you want to be editing the rT.reason? I'm not a coding person...but if the idea is to leave some hints as so the parts of the logic flow the temp basal recommendations are coming from, I'd be adding to the rT.reason lines I think.

OpenAPS developers: best file to be able to determine when a loop successfully ran locally would be enacted.json, yes?
I have Pancreabble working now (WOOOOOOHHOOOOOOO!) and am formatting my report by hacking oref-pebble.js (just a little bit...just the data that is coming out). I was able to get things to work using the revised docs here: https://github.com/mddub/pancreabble and then by making a simple bash script (like 6 or 7 lines) that I can share out once I have it fully tested. @tim2000s & @Aaybob & @applehat , heads up!

strange. xdrip+ knows the temp basals, doesn't it?
i like looping especially at night it works very well.
at daytime not so well. maybe I have misunderstood some concepts. somehow it refuses to give me enough insulin as soon as i mealbolus. BTW I am a heavy insulinuser, some 150 u/d. T1D and low sensitivity (resistance)

so the -99 means your rig is not connecting to your pump. I'm not going to be able to troubleshoot with you as I'm going offline myself for the rest of the day. Take a look and see if you can position your rig and pump closer, make sure your pump battery is strong. There has been a fair bit about connection problems written here so using the search is a good idea.

Your pump tuning results show that you have NO COMMUNICATIONS HAPPENING between your pump and rig. So, until you see number lower than -99 (like in the 80s or below)…don’t be suprised that your rig is not looping. The failed to fetch old pump history message will continue to prevent you from looping…how can your rig fetch pump history if your pump and rig aren’t communicating? YOu need to address your communications issue first. Check pump battery, check if you are in a noisy rf environment, etc. You had pump comms for awhile…figure out what you were doing differently then and why it was working.

Can I use the G4 as and run offline but with using the receiver to monitor my loop like this. Transmitter---to---reciever---to---xdrip----to----rig. I have some life left in the G4 and wouldn't mind using it until the G5 comes in a week. It seems to me that xdrip would take the readings from my reviever and my rig could read them through xdrip. The only drawback would be an extra gadget to carry around but it's not a big deal right now. I'm tired of buying enlite sensors . Would it work

Has anyone run into a problem when setting up bluetooth with an iphone when you are running and at the point to enter pair AA:BB....etc, and the edison comes back say device AA:BB...etc not available ?
dan lightner
@danimaniac
Jun 22 2017 20:32
@peterfulvi Basically, yes. The G4 transmitter lacks native BLE. That is why we need to use the G4 with SHARE receiver - it receives and displays the BG readings on it's display AND translates and transmits those BG readings via BLE. Your xDrip+ app on your Android device will then receive those BLE BG readings from the G4 with SHARE receiver. xDrip+ on your Android device will forward those readings to xDripAPS if installed on your rig. This is my setup. See the "offline looping / monitoring offline" docs here: https://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-1/offline-looping-and-monitoring.html#

@ejoe132 you have to have your BT screen on and open on the iPhone when you issue the pair request
@peterfulvi I was able to get the G4 receiver wirelessly pulled in using that Loop offline option, yes. I use an iPhone. Only drawback is that it only works when the iPhone and rig are hotspot BT tethered.

No. G4 receiver was being pulled.
I have iPhone though and no xdrip app. So basically I used receiver, Loop app, bt tether, and the rig setup with xdrip as the cgm source

@Kdisimone or others using SMB, I recently enabled oref1 for SMB a couple of days ago, but I'm still not receiving SMBs
Today, I had a meeting and my pump in my bra (so couldnt' easily access) and went up to the 200s with no SMB, its enabled on my Oref1(although I just re-ran it because there was only one space between meal and microbolus) and when I checked papertrail, I got noted this error ,
un 22 14:30:10 edison2 pump-loop.log: and that pumphistory is less than 1m old. Temp refresh stderr: 'fatal: pathspec 'enact/smb-suggested.json' did not match any files'
any ideas for what I'm missing? I tried to read Katie's CGM blog posts and Dana's blog, but it seems like it should be enacting given the BG behavior. Do you think it was the lack of space in the oref1 set up? something else I should check?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 22 2017 22:10
@KS615 I would need to see more of your pump-loop.log to find the issue there.
@rdalisky @Stavrosnco I would get a second EB and Edison, so you can swap them and see which part the problem follows. Always good to have two of everything for backup and troubleshooting.
Shane Mitchell

Jun 22 2017 22:12
@ejoe132 you need to figure out why your cron is launching the wrong pump-loop. Maybe remove your crontab manually and make sure it stops, then re-run oref0-setup and make sure it puts oref0-pump-loop into cron.
@Stavrosnco quite possible. If the problem is config it will follow the Edison. With two, you can muck around on one without breaking your working rig.
@jburke41 unable to connect means your rig doesn't have Internet connectivity. Check your wifi.

It is enabled, but when I entered it, originally the code said: --enable=' autosens meal microbolus ' -- With only one spacer between meal and microbolus. When I looked the other two (autosens and meal), they had two spaces between each one so I wondered if that's the reason. I can't check it now because I manually bolused so going down now.
Scott Leibrand

Jun 22 2017 22:21
Reflashing completely reformats the Edison. Only thing that doesn't erase is the Explorer board's cc1110 memory: that is done with ccprog.
@KS615 that isn't your problem.
You have smb-enacted.json etc. so that part is working.
Just a question of finding a time when it's high temping and see if it wants to microbolus or not.

thank you, so if I follow the ccprog flashing commands here: https://github.com/EnhancedRadioDevices/915MHzEdisonExplorer_SW#installing-new-firmware-onto-the-cc1110 that should be the correct one?

Yeah
@KS615 specifically wondering if you somehow ended up with two pump-loop lines in cron.

@scottleibrand ok, trying to figure that out now

@KS615 also might be worth double checking you don't have two cron files, I once made one under root and another as a normal user by accident

@Stavrosnco and @scottleibrand I'm not sure I know what I'm doing here. I opened my rig and entered crontab -l, I'm not sure what I'm looking for now though (sorrry!)

You'll want to look for the lines that run openaps pump-loop or oref0-pump-loop to see if you have both (or two of one)
Bed time here in Austria, but there are lots of other people in this channel who can take it from here.

If cron isn't a problem, you'll be looking for a pump-loop.log entry (or NS OpenAPS pill) with an explanation of why it was/wasn't microbolusing. If none of them show anything about bolusing, might need to check preferences.json.
Good luck!

hmm nothing jumps out at me. out of curiosity have you run an autotune since you enabled SMB?

I did, with Katie DiSimone's help, a couple of days ago, and it got the message that says, "Autotune horray" message :)
ok, thank you for taking the second look. I'll go back to my papertrail to try to figure out what happened earlier. appreciate your help!!
