Keep getting this error when running the tail and won't connect to pump: ValueError: Invalid GPIO pin specified. Has anyone seen this before?

I'm getting the same thing on a spare rig I've been trying to build today. Never have seen this before. Don't know what the origin of the GPIO error is or what the significance is. I tried re-flashing and reinstalling the entire rig but still getting it. Some recent change?

I'm getting it installing dev

Great troubleshooting: thanks for narrowing it down and providing a workaround. Could someone open a github issue against the mraa project and let them know what we're seeing, so they can start fixing the bug? In the mean time, we should probably also update oref0-setup to checkout the last working commit of the mraa repo before building it, until there is a new commit fixing the bug that we can test. Anyone want to take a first stab at automating that workaround in oref0-setup?

@Prosulpump there are many questions and concerns about pump that no one knows about, especially w/o FDA approval, I know that FDA approval cost maybe $500K and time to test, but still, everyone will ask questions about safety and reliability, also FDA at some point.

@Prosulpump Maybe you should publish the pump code so people could feel comfortable seeing it? I guess your downside would be competitors using it, but my guess is that would not happen. Note that with the Explorer board that this community uses, it is an open-source design, but one company has been selling it. Likewise, your design could be published, but you could be the vendor.

@Prosulpump "pump has .01mg/dl accuracy" really? get your units straight dude. you stated it's made for animals, it thats why it's so huge? Do you have backup plan for coming lawsuits and FDA knocking on your door? I wish you luck but I feel sorry for what's going to happen.
@Prosulpump you say "Since I designed the hardware and software and it is been tested in clinical for 3 years." Do you have any reference hospitals or clinics? (I asume animal clinics?)

@Stavrosnco do you want to install it as master or as dev branch
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 19:02
I'd prefer dev if that works but I don't mind doing both if that'd be useful
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 19:05
doing master first will be useful, because if that works @scottleibrand can release it. I assume currently installing master is broken because mraa master branch is used (instead of a stable mraa v1.7.0 that works with oref0)
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 19:06
Ok I'll start with that. I believe master is broken for new installs as I tried that when I first ran into this issue yesterday

@Stavrosnco great. Are you familiar with pulling PR's and using git? Or should I write the commands for you. The procedure is a bit different because 0.4.2 checkout is broken now

@PieterGit if you have a fix, I'm about to do another install. I have a fresh jubilinux install, ready to rock.
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 19:14
easiest is to change step 1 to:
mkdir -p ~/src; cd ~/src && git clone git://github.com/pietergit/oref0.git || (cd oref0 && git checkout mraa_fix_master && git pull)
that pulls the branch that is suggested in the PR

Jun 23 2017 19:20
@PieterGit will that fix work for a Dev install with SMB?
Shane Mitchell

PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 19:20
@rdalisky not yet. I need to prepare two seperate patches, because dev oref0 has been refactored
I'm working on that now. I din't find a mraa issue yet. Did somebody report it to mraa github issue tracker already?
i thought master had precendence, because new users should use master and not dev
i couldn't cherry pick the change from one branch to another unfortuately

So I let my G5 transmitter die completely, until xdrip said "xx0?" or something like that
ever since then, my nightscout alternates between exactly "400" and the actual xdrip-reported reading, every other result
any ideas why? and how to get back to normal?
Screenshot_20170623-144133.png
Here's what xdrip looks like for the same time period..
It's a serious issue b/c you can see what it's doing to my basal rate, working the pump to death :)
(err, what APS is doing to my basal, as a result of the NS funkiness)
Chuck Vann
@djtechman
Jun 23 2017 20:46
I never was 400, although when the G5 died I was getting all kinds of crazy readings

Clear your calibration history
Blah. Pretty sure my pump is dying
makes a clicking noise while its giving a basal now
Chuck Vann

is there a calibration history in NS?

Chuck Vann
@djtechman
Jun 23 2017 20:54
yes, xdrip never showed the 400, AFAIK
oh and re: your pump, I've had older models that seem to make more noise when delivering than the new models. Never loud enough to hear without being in a silent room within 1-2ft of it though...
Cameron Chunn

It just so happens that I also have a high BS and and maxed out my OpenAPS settings (so it wont deliver any more)
Chuck Vann

Not sure why but looks like I still have the wrong mraa somehow, mraa-gpio version returns:
Version v1.7.0-42-gd544e3c on Unknown platform
Chuck Vann
@djtechman
Jun 23 2017 21:12
I'm not understanding how this "400" keeps getting displayed in NS. Xdrip isn't posting it, and it still happens when the APS rig is physically switched off
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 23 2017 21:22
@Stavrosnco did you reflash, or are you installing ok a rig that got that mraa from before?
*on
Thanks @PieterGit for doing the PR, and to @Stavrosnco @rdalisky and everyone else testing it. Happy to merge as soon as we get a :+1: from someone who's successfully tested it. (Which may be in the morning Europe time at his point.)
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:26
@scottleibrand I did reflash before but it just occured to me when I first tried to rebuild using the fix I wasn't on the mraa_fix_master branch but rather dev ... For some reason I seem to need to manually change the branch for the pietergit repo
I was able to run the new lines in oref-setup.sh manually and that does seem to be working... I'll try from a true flash one more time
mraa-gpio version also now returns:
Version v1.7.0 on Intel Edison
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 21:29
@Stavrosnco : you must make sure that ldconfig -p | grep -q mraa doesn't find mraa
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:30
@PieterGit the strange thing is it doesn't find it even now, and the rig is looping
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 21:30
did you reflash it, or was mraa ever installed on it?
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:31
reflashed and tried to install using mkdir -p ~/src; cd ~/src && git clone git://github.com/pietergit/oref0.git || (cd oref0 && git checkout mraa_fix_master && git pull)
This was after running the standard dependency install script
I got an error on importing vendor and then did a git status in the oref0 folder and noticed that it was on dev and not mraa_fix_master
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 21:32
did the dev build already built mraa, because i think your dev build was not patched at that time
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:33
I didn't think so but that seems likely now
When I manually ran the new lines in your mraa fix master oref0-setup.sh that definitely replaced the other mraa version and I can now run a new setup successfully
image.png
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 21:36
did you reboot the rig after mraa was installed?
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:37
yes
PieterGit
@PieterGit
Jun 23 2017 21:40
Can't figure out what exactly happened. Is my recap ok? Your rig is working now, you had the wrong branch, but when you stopped the build (before wrong mraa was build) , you switched to my branch (with the mraa fix) and ran oref0-setup.sh
Shane Mitchell
@Stavrosnco
Jun 23 2017 21:41
That's good except that I'm not sure the first build was before the wrong mraa
I can try a clean flash again and make sure I am on the mraa_fix_master branch first this time if that would be helpful

my edison returns Version v1.7.0-11-g47c21e0 on Intel Edison with mraa-gpio version. Would be nice if we knew how mraa uses their hash. Looks like it doesn't seem to be related to github hashes.
i don't know of any easy solution at this moment, so if you don't mind I think completely reflash and then using my step 1 (git clone oref0 from pietergit) is the best solution. Make sure that you have the right oref0 instance and branch. I'll be back in about half an hour
Shane Mitchell

If anybody who has more information about the MRAA errors (see /var/log files, and dmesg), please post them into the MRAA issue upstream, intel-iot-devkit/mraa#771 . Otherwise the MRAA devs probably can't help us and we're stuck with MRAA 1.7.0. (would be a good reason to upgrade to a 4.12 kernel with Debian 9.x and without mraa :smile: )

@scottleibrand I have a simple suggestion for the setup script....was thinking that it might be a good idea to create a short alias for all the various logs.....like you did with l for pump loop log......maybe something short for each of autosense, NS, autotune, etc.......whtdoyathink?
