So, turns out, the explorer board works fine without the battery charging IC at U3 populated, just on USB only
AND a quick reverse polarity screw up only cooks that component, which costs about $0.50

I'm doing the offline setup tonight with my G4 and xdrip a couple questions. Do i have to put the personal network of my android phone in the wpa_supplicant.conf file, and if i do i have to comment out any potential networks it might want to connect to? Also can i just rerun the setup script again? i dont want to lose all my autotune profiles?
Im doing the offline according to the docs

It's community practice to not like waiting :smile: , but there's no rush anymore since both dev and master now have a working MRAA. If you install that PR then please check if you have a working mmtune and pumploop so that we know that the MRAA problems are fixes on the MRAA master branch.

@peterfulvi Your best bet is to copy your Autotune files elsewhere before re-running the setup script, then move them back when you've done it.
And on the offline setup, are you simply my using phone wifi or planning to use the phone's Bluetooth? Bluetooth will use a lot less battery.

Hi I'm trying to get http widget running on my rig following: https://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-1/offline-looping-and-monitoring.html#creating-an-information-web-page-that-can-be-picked-up-using-the-rig-s-url
I previously set this up following: https://github.com/ceben80/http-widget
It's not currently working. Shouldn't it create a file called index.html in the enact folder?
I managed to solve the issue. I have two crontabs and I forgot to switch between them.

if you ssh into your rig when it's stopped working is the enact/index.html file still being updated?

@marafie I've added date +'%T' >> ~/myopenaps/enact/index.html to the third line (after the touch command) of http.sh. Thus regardless of the datestamps on smb etc ... I'll know when http.sh last ran.
Also I'd like to send a colour code as the first word in the http request to change the widget colour. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you're plugging it into USB, follow the section titled "Using udev rules to make meaningful device names" and use /dev/mmeowlink

@prosulpump it sounds like you're trying to understand what temp basal capabilities you'd need to add to your pump? this channel is for end users, so it probably isn't the right place to post images and links, as that makes it look like you're trying to market the pump to end users, rather than the developers you seem to actually want to work with.

It might be best if we take this conversation over to https://gitter.im/medtronic-flash/Lobby - that is the place where all the "build a DIY insulin pump" discussion has been happening.

If you wanted, it might be good to PR in some changes to oref0-set-device-clocks to make the output more user friendly.
That will just cause it to try immediately and not wait for a new BG.
But if it never creates pump_loop_completed, that may be a symptom of another problem.

This looks like a race condition, where it takes more than 1 minute to set the pump clock.
Maybe related to how slow the Pi Zero CPU is.
We might be able to fix by doing the pump clock read right before checking if it's within 1m of current. I thought I recently fixed that on dev, but maybe just talked about it.

"Appropriately" for this hardware combo might be like 30s in the future.
But better to fix it so it sets it automatically and then doesn't have to keep doing so.
Want to pause the loop and do some manual command runs to see whether the problem is with the setting or the checking of the time?

I'm mobile, so take a look at oref0-pump-loop to see what exactly it does, and let's try to reproduce that, and compare the timestamps to see where the slippage is.
Also comment out pump-loop in cron

I know this is a redundant question, but can i ?BT tether my phone without a data plan. It really rracks my brain thinking i have to pay a yearly fee to do something so simple as to talk to a device. Any advice.

i was having some serious issues of my putty not allowing me to be able to log into my session. I finally can now randomly be able to log in again. ... "l" only shows the pump stuff.... what command can i use to see why over the past 2 weeks putty wouldnt let me log into my session, as I think it was an issue with my edison board as I had already: checked it was the correct port, checked I had a working USB, reinstalled putty, restarted my rig.

Scott Leibrand

Jun 25 2017 22:28 UTC
does it have USB firmware on the cc1110?
(you would've flashed that with the cc-debugger or similar)
Diabetic_Dude
@diabetic_dude_twitter
Jun 25 2017 22:29 UTC
I got it pre set up
because I do not have a debugger
@garykidd hooked me up and I trust his work more than my own
when I look at the logs I see this
serial.serialutil.SerialException: [Errno 2] could not open port /dev/mmeowlink: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/mmeowlink'
I think I may have set it up wrong or it just isnt registering at all when I plug it in.
That's because the stick isn't showing up when plugged in, as you noted. Did @garykidd flash it with the USB firmware or the UART firmware?
Diabetic_Dude
@diabetic_dude_twitter
Jun 25 2017 22:32 UTC
I dont know, I will patiently wait for the answer however :)
If it's a mismatch, you'll either have to reflash it (with USB firmware) or rewire it (to use the UART pins instead of USB)
Diabetic_Dude
@diabetic_dude_twitter
Jun 25 2017 22:34 UTC
that makes loads of sense now, since i am using a PI for this set up he may have been using an edison
thank you @ecc1 and @scottleibrand I will wait for gary to come around and find out what I am messing with, if I have to get a debugger I am sure it will get good use.
I have all the time in the world on this rig though, I just got a new edison I need to work on and I have my primary thanks again

@danamlewis , have you noticed any issues with pump/rig connecting issues with your tallygear case? I just got one on Thursday, and have been having a ton of connection issues between 2 different rigs and the pump, which seem to go away when I take it out of the case. I never noticed the issue when it was in the old tallygear dexcom case.. just wondering
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 25 2017 22:41 UTC
no, they're just soft fabric and clear plastic, so there shouldn't be any effect on radio signals...
PopcornPam
@PopcornPam_twitter
Jun 25 2017 22:42 UTC
Do you think a trackr that is attached to it would cause interruption to radio signal?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 25 2017 22:43 UTC
what is a trackr? is that like a Tile? it could, depending on where it's positioned. I would keep it away from the Explorer Board's antenna: maybe on the back side of the battery
PopcornPam
@PopcornPam_twitter
Jun 25 2017 22:44 UTC
I have it on the caribeener clip, but in the tic tac case it is away from the antenna.. maybe that is the issue
