Hi all, we are running openaps, using enlite sensors, and occasionally (like now), I'm getting bg numbers on nightscout but openaps isn't looping.. and I'm not sure why, as I would have assumed if it can read/upload sensor bg numbers, then it should be able to read rig and run? Little confused (and unsure how to resolve). Tia.

@mhaeberli I would raise the midnight CR to match the later-in-the-day ones (or an average of them) before you adjust the meal ones.
The midnight one gets used throughout the day if you have autotune on in your loop.
So you can have a midnight one for autotune, and then a different one for breakfast if needed.

Ok im working on setting up some temp target buttons for my offline rig using the hot buttons app. Im looking to remove openaps ns-temptargets but im having a hard time finding it in the openap instance file. Also i put the temp target script in my myopenaps directory were in that script do i have to identify my exact location. It looks like its already setup if your directory is myopenaps.

Hello! I'm probably missing something obvious... I made some changes to decocare (under ~/src/decocare) but it seems anything i change has no effect
tried make / make install / oref0-runagain.sh...
Might be related to this message when running make install ? "decocare 0.0.32.dev0 is already the active version in easy-install.pth"

@peterfulvi why do you want to disable only ns-temptargets? If you want to have an offline loop, you can disable the complete ns-loop in the crontab. What are you trying to accomplish?

Is there any use of openaps use ns shell get-status? I noticed it won't work with token based authentication because I didn't include the permission api:status:read. If there is some use case now or in the future that the rig needs the Nightscout server status, I need to include api:status:read in the default token based authentication permissions. Otherwise I think best solution was to drop openaps use ns shell get-status because I don't see the reason why the rig would want to have the Nightscout server status. Any opinions?

care portal question. I'm on SMB. If I go into care portal, enter the number of grams of carb (it then suggests the amount of bolus needed) and I hit submit, does it then bolus the amount of insulin or simply enter the amount of carbs in NS and it's up to me to bolus? I'm thinking it's up to me but I've always only ever used bolus wizard on my pump..

@dirkgastaldo yes. http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/walkthrough/phase-1/nightscout-setup.html#nightscout-setup

OPENAPS_WARN and OPENAPS_URGENT. But read up on the whole nightscout alarms if you aren't sure how they work via the Nightscout official website.

You have to keep your phone "open and on" at night for NS alarms to actually wake you up then. Or get a pebble and use a watch face (like skyloop) that buzzes well enough to wake you.

@Kdisimone You're right, I'm working on it. I had those set, so it was my phone that needed to be awake with the NS app open. It's more "retaining" the information in the docs rather than "reading" them. I've read them all. I haven't retained everything.

@cameronrenwick if you enter carbs with SMB enabled, it will start SMBing, but won't do a full sized bolus. If you enter them early enough, that might be sufficient for SMB to keep up, but otherwise you'll also want to do a manual bolus.

I moved to SMB and I wake up low every morning. Autotunes told me to reduce my carb ratio from 16 to 11 and I adopted the low and High. I also see through out the night a lot of zero temp rates... I am confused where I should adjust first

What is autotune suggesting for overnight basals?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 09 2017 19:43
@RedCyclist1 ok. so short term - an easy fix would be to raise your target overnight for now while you also figure out what you want to do with your basals. you may also want to look and see if you’re running autosens and what it’s suggesting, and use that + autotune to see if your ISF needs adjusting as well
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jul 09 2017 19:45
ISF mostly matters for corrections, though, and has the opposite effect when IOB is negative, so that probably isn't your problem if you're running consistently low (vs oscillating between high and low).
In other words, it's almost certainly basals that need adjusting. So :+1: to setting a temp target if needed as you tune basals.
RedCyclist1
@RedCyclist1
Jul 09 2017 19:47
@scottleibrand mid night - .65 then .71 at 2am, .834, then at 5am 1.007 which I am at .85 in my set up
@scottleibrand I am close to all of it until 5 am
I actually adj my basals to autotunes when I went to SMB. So will take a look at autosens and see even up my tartget to see how that goes
RedCyclist1
@RedCyclist1
Jul 09 2017 19:52
@danamlewis @scottleibrand FYI ISF I keep at 100 since it seems to bounce between 95 and 134...
Scott Leibrand

Loving my new openAPS setup. I setup my Bluetooth tethering with iPhone 6 (AT&T)... works nice when I leave known Wifi. Picks right up and everything continues to work as expected. When I return home, rig stays connected to phone (even after 20 or 30 minutes), and phone stays disconnected from Wifi until I turn Hotspot off manually... Phone asks me "r u sure you want to turn off hotspot (since rig is connected)". I say YES, at which point rig and phone connect to wifi immediately and it all works. QUESTION... is there a setting where I can force the rig to switch back to wifi automatically when returning to known networks?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 09 2017 20:12
What you need to do: go to hotspot screen, turn it on and back out of screen right away before anything connects
You've been turning wifi hotspot on (which happens when you stay on screen and force something to connect), and you have to manually turn that off
W bt, even not on that screen when you leave wifi it should connect; and when you get home it should jump back to home wifi
If that's what you've done; the other thing you can do is put your home wifi above your hotspot and see if that makes a difference in it getting on home wifi more quickly
Dirk Gastaldo
@dirkgastaldo

place the network={} entry for your home wifi before the hotspot wifi in wpa_supplicant.conf. probably better to turn off wifi hotspot on the phone, though, and just use BT tethering.

@scottleibrand the error message “carb ratio out of bounds”…person has a carb ratio of 1:80 in the pump…but somehow that’s repeatedly gettign pulled into the profile.json as 0.8 Any ideas? Had her delete profile and repulled it, same problem. had her reenter carb ratio profile, and repull profile.json, same problem. Is there a carb ratio issue I’m not aware of?
Dana Lewis

Jul 09 2017 20:38
@rodzilla55 if the problem persists - there might be something else bonking the wifi file. I tried to add an open wifi on the go and it never worked so latched to my hotspot, but when got home couldn't connect that rig to home wifi because something else was messed up in the file. Just noticed that today. Doubt that's what you're experiencing, but something to check if the problem persists and you're sure you're connecting bt and not wifi.
rodzilla55
@rodzilla55
Jul 09 2017 20:42
thanks... I just confirmed that my only entry in the wpa_supplicant.conf file is my home wifi. I'm as sure as I know how to be that the rig is connecting to my phone via BT Tethering. In fact, I never configured the rig with the Phones Hotspot Pword, so I'm sure it isn't connecting to phone via Wifi. Here is contents of wpa_supplicant file:
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
network={
ssid="thehen"
psk="*"
}
Should it reconnect to Wifi because (A) the phone switched back to Wifi and closed the BT tethering... or (B) the rig saw the wifi and decided it preferred it over the BT tether?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 09 2017 20:54
B
rodzilla55
@rodzilla55
Jul 09 2017 21:02
As soon as I turn of tethering on the iPhone, the rig reconnects to home wifi... but not until then. It seems to like the tether once initiated. Not the end of the world if I can't get past it, but would be nice if it switched auto.

It never echoed back that its started it just said success on my phone. It looks like its sussp[posed to echo back temp started.

download jubilinux here http://www.jubilinux.org/dist/jubilinux-v0.1.1.zip

Open on Terminal window…enter cd Downloads/jubilinux

open another terminal window, connect your rig with both cables, and use sudo screen /dev/tty.usbserial-* 115200, enter computer password, login to rig

go back to the first terminal window and type ./flashall.sh

go to second terminal window (the rig’s window) and type reboot

walk away for 15 minutes and then come back. Flashing done

(if you have an existing jubilinux folder in your Downloads, you may want to delete it…the older version makes you enter control-d midway through flash and is a bit of a pita for that)
