@aliceinnowonderlands is this still an issue? Sometimes these things self-correct after a couple of times through the loop. Also, you do see the pump has both a good battery and reservoir (showing in pump display), as either of those being empty will stop the loop from setting temps.

Anyone offline looping using iPhone Loop app with their OpenAPS? Looks like the more recent version of the docs lost the iPhone configuration portion on the "Offline Looping page". I have it mostly configured, but not sure it is a legit option for me because of the cumbersome reconfig necessary due to dynamic assignment of IPs when bluetooth tethering.
anyone looked into directly pairing OpenAPS (as opposed to a tether) with a forked Loop app to get G5 data?

@rodzilla55 it's still available in the old docs. I removed it from offline looping based on reported findings of it actually still requiring cell signal to work.

Hi guys,
First I'm new to OpenAPS. I'm trying to set up my rig. I have followed the instructions from OpenAPS page and have trouble connecting to WiFi. Here are the files

Your scan ssid line should be inside of the bracket for that network
So network={
ssid=XYZ
scan_ssid=1
psk="123"
}

Sorry, ssid name should be in quotes as you have it too. Just try moving the ssid scan line to the hidden network you want it used on and see what happens. I am guessing it connects to your phone hotspot fine?

Thank you! So...we're trying to set up OpenAPS on my Mac using a pre-flashed board. We initially had problems with the instruction to put in "root" and then no password. Looking through older Facebook posts, we saw that we could use the default password "edison" which got us in. But then we decided to follow some old instruction to change the password. Not sure if this is what caused the problems that followed or not. We copy and pasted the set up script, but as it looked like some code was missing when we pasted, we closed terminal and tried to log back in again. Since then, we are just getting a ">" but we do not fee like we are connected to the Edison. Any advice on what to do next. Explicit directions for total ludites appreciated.

Jul 24 2017 03:57
@Samuchco The fact you aren't connecting to the a network is less troubling than the fact the config wlan0 doesn't show anything. Should at least be providing the MAC address/hardware info. Wonder if it could be a defective board? I know there's a lot better people for hardware troubleshooting on here that will read this and reply, I was just hoping the scan ssid line would be an easy fix to get you running! Might be worth double checking there's no dust or anything in your connection between Edison and Explorer that could be causing any problems, and that the two are fully seated.
Jazzy, if you hit enter do you get new lines proceeded by ">"?

JazzyCar
@JazzyCar
Jul 24 2017 04:14
We haven't gotten to the point yet where we've created a user ID and host name.
We've been following the instructions here: https://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Build%20Your%20Rig/mac-prep.html but have noticed that they are different from Katie's YouTube video, so feel like we maybe missed a few preliminary steps.

Jul 24 2017 04:19
Wonder if it was flashed with an old version or the wrong thing accidentally if it isn't matching up to the openaps instructions. Noticed that on mine when I set it up that what it was supposed to be preflashed with wasn't what was on it, ended up re-flashing it with the correct thing from the instructions and then everything matched up after that.
JazzyCar
@JazzyCar
Jul 24 2017 04:20
To reflash did you just follow the instructions for a non-flashed Edison?
It's odd, because it looked like it was working until we closed terminal because the code looked incomplete and we were going to retry it.
Joey
@Cooljoe04_twitter
Jul 24 2017 04:22
I believe so. Don't have them in front of me at the moment, but downloaded the Intel software/drivers for the Edison and the Jubilinux file that was linked in the instructions and it was fairly easy to do.

@jazzycar try typing "exit" after the > prompt. If that doesn't work, try rebooting the rig by holding down the black button for up to 15s until the red light goes out, and then again until it comes back on.
@Samuchco have you tried re-flashing the Edison and starting over? That might be easiest at this point.
In the unlikely event this is a hardware issue, it'd be with the Edison itself, not the Explorer board.

@rodzilla55 no I haven't done anything more with the Loop app bridge to xdrip. Trying to get the edison to read from the G5 natively at the moment. I might be able to help if you can tell me what build errors you are getting. But in general, if you want to start with the latest Loop app, you could probably patch it with my changes, rebuild the dependencies using carthage and then build.

@bdr1177 which version of oref0 are you running?
And what is your normal basal at that time?
Brian Rabinovitz
@bdr1177
Jul 24 2017 14:44
Using oref0 0.5.2 and normal basal at that time if 0.20
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 24 2017 14:51
If normal basal is 0.20 Then anything above that is a high temp
So 0.275 (first one) and 0.3 are both high temps, given that eventual is still above target
Brian Rabinovitz
@bdr1177
Jul 24 2017 14:55
@danamlewis Makes sense. Maybe I need to think about upping the basal. By the way, is it worth using autotune if my T1D has very different daytime and nighttime ISFs (e.g., 175 during daytime and 230 at night)?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 24 2017 14:59
I would run it manually - it's going to use the midnight isf, so I would run it manually from the rig and change the isf in the pump and run it again to see what it does, or run it per phase c instructions similarly, with each isf (and or an average of the two) and see what it says.
Brian Rabinovitz
@bdr1177
Jul 24 2017 15:00
@danamlewis Ok. Thanks!
I have a VM set up for autotune, so I can just run it manually from there and make manual pump adjustments.
Brian Rabinovitz
@bdr1177
Jul 24 2017 15:05
@danamlewis I was actually thinking of inputting a new ISF and carb ratio from 11:45 pm to 12:15 am that would be the average of the 24 hour ISFs and carb ratios and letting autotune run automatically off of that. Do you have any thoughts about whether that might work?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 24 2017 15:09
That would "work", but I'd run manually with that average and eyeball it and see if you are happy with it. Keep in mind it's not just for outputting a profile, if you run it auto that means it will tune that avg isf and carb ratio and use that for any OpenAPS adjustments. If you are ok w that - great, but most people who feel super strongly about their varying isf and carb ratios don't seem to want to do that, so I'd run manually first and/or if you still decide to do it, keep an eye on the first day or two and know if you see anything f that feels off, likely related to that and you may want to disable it adjust manually at that point.
This is a YDMV area of deciding how you want to deploy the tool
Brian Rabinovitz
@bdr1177
Jul 24 2017 15:15
@danamlewis I don't actually feel that strongly about the differing ISFs. I programmed them pre-openaps primarily for the purpose of letting my T1D run higher at night with fewer lows. With openaps, that doesn't seem as necessary. The carb ratios are a little different because my T1D does seem to require a much higher ratio for breakfast than for other meals. In any event, thanks for the advice. I'll run manually several times before trying it automated.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 24 2017 15:23
:+1: yea, in that case trying with an average to gauge where it should be will be helpful, and you can keep an eye on it and decide where to ratchet down and how far.

for some reason my COB aren't showing up... do I need to enter them somewhere other than in my pump? Also, is there some way to see times where my OpenAPS was down for whatever reason?... i.e. to confirm the reason I dropped or rose was because OpenAPS wasn't online

thacherT1D: Your not seeing any COB in the openaps pill?, It will not show up in the COB pill
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 24 2017 18:25
@thacherT1D per @M1Sports20 , can you clarify where "not showing up" means? First, check logs and make sure they're there. Second, check OpenAPS pill. Carbs should be there both places, but we recommend NOT using COB pill for a number of reasons, and also sometimes carbs won't show on the GRAPH, but they're in the pill and the logs and OpenAPS is using them. So confirm if there's a bigger problem w/ carbs not making it to OpenAPS first, or we'll see if you fall into one of the known categories of carbs not displaying properly but working correctly.
Thacher
@thacherT1D
Jul 24 2017 18:37
@danamlewis not seeing COB in the openaps pill -- read the stuff about not using the COB pill, so I just removed it from my Heroku config. Also my AR2 forecast is still showing as blue rather than purple

Your rig will be accessible to someone nefarious at some point. Maybe you connect to a network with another computer that is compromised. Doesn't really matter. You need a secure password.
Those ransomware attacks that have been in the news? They almost all spread mostly across local networks after penetrating them somewhere via phishing or who knows what.
If someone hacks your rig, it's more likely they'll make it part of a DDoS botnet rather than try to bolus you. But you don't want that either.

@andrew-warrington About an old post where you mentioned a modified OpenAPS for your 754 ("BOBS", micro/bolus and suspend), is there any chance you have information anywhere I how I could replicate that setup?

hi everyone =) still can't return my rig to life (no radio communications between pump and edison/explorer)
after searching by internet and by glitter history i think that my pump may go to some sort "Low power consumption" mode after battery got low and in this mod it can't use radio
however i replaced battery twice already , and it doesnt help to turn radio on again
any advices?

@aliceinnowonderlands I have one pump that just has a crap to comms. Worked for months and then suddenly needs rig within inches to work. I know it's not the rig...I have done all the troubleshooting to confirm. Do you have another pump to try with same rig? Or a different rig to try with same pump?
Well that's a typo. Should've said "has cruddy rf comms"

That's not a comms issue necessarily. You have a good tune. I'd try rerunning your installation fresh. Removing your old myopenaps folder (which looks like you chose to name something else)

My usual is crontab -r and then rm -rf myopenaps and obviously replace with your myopenaps name instead.
Then run your installation again. Copy and paste your runagain script before deleting the myopenaps directory if you want to use it
Make sure you have your dependencies and npm lines done properly too
