Hi all, here is an idea for all to examine and pick holes in...

Has anybody thought about emulating a CNL meter or remote and pairing to the pump? This would create a persistent connection that may allow for temp basal to be set. I don't have a later model pump to play with.

Apologies in advance if this has been tried and failed.

@PieterGit - Works, aside from a mod I had to make for xDrip to work (im probably a rare use case wanting xDrip + Pancreabble). Commented on the PR.
Cant confirm if it works for non-xdrip folks

@danamlewis probably dumb question…but i see a couple months ago you had a commit to mmeowlink to clarify that pesky “no pump comms from other rigs” message. How come that doesn’t show in the pump-loop yet? I sure prefer your edit to that line.

@Kdisimone we haven't been forcing an upgrade of mmeowlink, and/or those changes haven't been released yet. I think there is an oref0 issue open to fix, which was waiting on @oskarpearson to get back from Iceland and get caught up enough to do a mmeowlink release.

Dear all. I am looping with openaps and began with G4 and wixel. It worked very well. Since I wanted to remove one part - the wixel - I moved to G5. I thought it'd work just as fine but I am in doubt. Last 3 days there were mysterious lows and I am afraid it's got to do with G5. Xdrip+ often displays "noise high" and I am in fear there are misreadings causing the rig to take the wrong decisions because of bad input. The "noise high" does not appear outside my home. Is it possible that some other BT devices in my home are interfering? If so any hint how to track them down without having to switch on and off everything? Maybe I should switch back to G4?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 28 2017 13:42
@stefanakerblom you could try doing g5->NS->rig if you want to take out the xdrip factor and see if that's really contributing

You could also do that, but if you suspect bad readings from xdrip, you should pause using xdrip and figure that out since you have another option.

High noise is high sensor noise, not Bluetooth. Bluetooth is very much "worked" or "didn't work" as far as getting a G5 sensor reading.
I have had enviormental issues with my G5 and high noise, but it's mainly just while standing near very high voltage (like 100kv power lines)
In the display settings (or maybe "advanced" or "extra" under extra display lines) there are ways to display the noise vs just a stated "high noise". Can give a better view of what's going on.

Can somebody with G5 or G4-share or some other CGM option answer the question on https://github.com/openaps/oref0/pull/570#issuecomment-318670584 .
Can others confirm that their monitor/glucose.json has the following fields:
  • dateString
  • glucose
  • trend_arrow
    If so I can make pancreabble pebble support for all CGM options. What I know now:
  • xdrip: yes
  • G4-upload: yes
Cameron Chunn

trend_arrow => direction on xdrip. MDT also has the same direction field.

@kenkotch the first month is free with a crazy amount of free data. after that, even running just one rig with filters, you will need to pay the $5 per month if you want to run for the whole month. Otherwise you’ll cap out on data use before very long.

Having only configured my OpenAPS rig to connect to my home network without mobile device tethering, I am wondering if it's best to use a USB Ethernet Adapter and connect via SSH? Additionally, after running the wifi and oref0-setup scripts, I am no longer able to connect to Wi-Fi and the the 'wpa_supplicant.conf ' file matches the previous one that was used to connect to the same wireless network successfully.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jul 28 2017 17:22
@dylanparsons if you're adding wifi or making changes, no need to use the bootstrap wifi script, since it wipes out your previous wifi file. (you may know this now, but just in case you didn't know). You can re-run oref0-setup as a standalone per http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Customize-Iterate/oref0-runagain.html)
check for capitalization in your network name and password, which matter

I have tried to to build my first rig but I am a little bit stuck. Got a edison with jubilinux 0.2.0 and an Explorer board. in the logfiles I am continually get the following message ".date: invalid date '@'". I have set my tzdata to Europe/amsterdam and use a 554LWWL veo pump and a private docker container with NS. mmtune does seem to tune to a frequency but nothing else happens. I tried changing the LANG var to LANG=en_US.UTF-8 but makes no difference. What to check next?

Hi guys. I updated oref0 and Jessie, and reran setup on one of my Edisons. Actually, I did both. But one of them just returns this error.
Starting pump-loop at Fri Jul 28 12:26:37 MST 2017:

.
I reran everything 3 different times. I also let the thing try to run for about 45 minutes.
Interestingly enough, my other rig is working, setting temp rates, but not updating nightscout with its information. I only have current bg and an apparently correct blue graph of insulin rates.
Does anyone have any ideas I can try to troubleshoot?

@tatigger do you have autotune on?
Terri Lyman
@tatigger
Jul 28 2017 19:37
I do not have autotune on in the cron/on the Edison. I run it separately every 7 days or so. My doc wants to see the rates as I change them, so I do it manually. sigh.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jul 28 2017 19:40
@tatigger you could discuss with your doc what % change from existing rates is ok before requiring human review, and then set your autosens min and max to that percentage. then if autotune bumps up against those limits, you can discuss changing pump settings (or not).
jq is required for more than just autotune now. if you have a really old rig that didn't get jq installed, you may need to do so manually (as suggested, with apt-get install jq) if you don't re-run the scripts for installing the prerequisites like you'd do on a new install.
Terri Lyman
@tatigger
Jul 28 2017 19:51
I re-ran the scripts, but jq doesn't seem to have updated. That's ok, that is an easy fix. My doc is now getting worried about me using this system.....due I believe to a close relationship with medtronic. That's ok. I am just delaying firing him as long as possible cuz I like him. He put a lengthy note about warnings and wanting me to go to the 670G, which I am not wanting to do. :)
Thanks for the help guys :)

Hi all. I'm trying to get NightScout configured with my Enlite CGM and Openaps using MMCommander to upload. I have my NS site setup through Heroku as recommended in the Openaps docs and am now attempting to setup MMCommander on my phone as per the following docs but, there is a section (near the end) in the docs that says something to the effect of "the docs assume you are using AZURE...if using Heroku, settings will be different..check with facebook groups for Heroku support" - https://github.com/jberian/mmcommander/blob/master/INSTALL.pdf - I'm not on facebook at all...hoping there is someone on here using NS/Heroku with Enlite that can help me with the last section of the mmcommander. Thanks in advance!
