you have to cd ~/myopenaps/ before doing any openaps commands. if you did any openaps init outside that, you may need to rm -rf ~/.git/ to clean that up

I use an iphone with OpenAPS and have used BT tethering without fail until a few days ago. My phone still shows it connecting to the rig (the blue bar appears), but the rig doesn't actually connect to the internet. I've re-ran the BT setup process and everything seems to work up until I try testing it. When I run ifconfig bnep0, i get this: root@elisa:~# sudo dhclient bnep0
root@elisa:~# ifconfig bnep0
bnep0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 58:a8:39:01:14:0b

TX packets:3 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:55 (55.0 B) TX bytes:60 (60.0 B)
there doesn't seem to be any actual internet connection
wondering if this is an issue with my setup or something that could be wrong with my phone. nothing has changed since the time it worked correctly

@thisistheusername the error at the bottom of your message about the radio (spidev) already in use...that's because you are trying to run openaps commands while the cron and pump loop are still going. If you're going to be running several openaps commands...best to stop the cron so that the radio doesn't try to get used by two commands at once. It can't be used by two at once. So, stop the cron while you run manual commands. sudo service cron stop and then don't forget to start it back up when you're done sudo service cron start

The pump_loop just has this section repeating with updated timestamps. The mature frequency doesn't vary, although I saw it changed once about 9PM last night, but it went back to what is shown here:

@thisistheusername are you sure you have the correct SN of the pump setup in the openaps?

thisistheusername

Yes - got the SN off the the ESC screen and the firmware is 2.0D. I've been able to get the Explorer+Edison 18 or so inches away from a 751 without any issue.

When you say "replaced it with a new rig", are you talking about the Edison+Explorer board or the pump or both? The E+E took a couple of months to get because the board was on backorder, and the 712 took longer - and both were not cheap. I'd prefer not to have to replace parts at this point.

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Sep 12 2017 13:28
The -99 of mmtune shows it isn't reading
Can you change the SN to your 751 and confirm that it's still reading that with reasonable signal?

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis

Easiest is to change it in the runagain file, and then bash runagain.
I have terrible signal so can't grab the link but left hand side of docs toward the bottom you'll see a page that's running oref0-setup again, and it should describe it if you haven't done runagain yet

Ok. So- your explorer board is fine with that pump. That's good (to confirm the rig is still fine)
It could be the 712 just has a rubbish radio (some should be loopable pumps are PITA like that) but also there may be something else hat needs to be done. Tagging @Kdisimone for when she wakes up to see if she has any ideas about other ways to kick this 712 into gear.

Hello! Is it currently possible to specify a custom DIA for OpenAPS ? Our pump only allows to set units such as 5 or 6, but i'd like to use 5.5...
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Sep 12 2017 14:21
Hi - you could and would need to change the code about what info i t uses. Instead, you may want to test the new exponential curves when that hits dev (soon, needs documenting before it lands in dev)
That's what I'd recommend, because that'll be what most folks use moving forward in lieu of traditional dia from the pump
(If anyone who's been testing 0.6.0-dev wants to help me write the notes, that'll get it to dev faster)

Reposting with additional info - The past few nights the edison shuts off when connected to charger. The most recent Papertrail entry is normal: Battery around 60%, loop enacted, connected to wifi, then the log stops. The edison lights go out. If she unplugs and replugs the charger the lights come back on and the loop starts back up. I don't think the Wifi connection is the issue because the iPhone does continue to upload data to Dexcom. Any idea what wouId cause this?

So my phone has apparently decided to have issues w giving my rig net access while tethered. Dexcom uploads fine and all but when tethered no dice. I am considering going xdrip+ on Android w G5. I installed xdrip+ but it couldn't seem to get the data. W G5 do you need a parakeet? I am about to change transmitters at next sensor change and will try again then just have the rig tether for offline looping nonstop. Any gotchas I need to look out for? I'm guessing I just iwconfig and turn off wifi so it stays w the bnep connection? Thanks!
And XdripAPS that is :)

Hi. We are on the third day of real OpenAPS use with my son 😃 We use many dual or combo bolus because they give us the better results. We know that OpenAPS doesn't run when an square bolus is running.
But, it's take in account for IOB calculation?
I talk about taking account the square part of the combo bolus
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Sep 12 2017 16:24
it is taken into account once the square/extended bolus completes, but it's treated the same as a normal non-extended bolus at that timeframe, so the IOB will be a bit off for longer extended boluses due to the timing mismatch
jcwarrior
@jcwarrior
Sep 12 2017 16:26
Thank you Scott. We usually put 2h square and it seems to me that IOB is lower than I expect to be

Sep 12 2017 16:52
Do you recommend a concrete DIA, for example 3 hours, to better align with the actual OpenAPS algorithm? I think the Novorapid DIA for my son is about 5 hours but carbs seems to decay faster on calculations
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Sep 12 2017 16:53
yeah, going slowly is a good approach
@jcwarrior you'll probably end up wanting to switch over to the exponential IOB curves in 0.6.0 once that's appropriately documented and ready to test.
with the current bilinear curves, 3h or 4h seem to work best for DIA. but as long as you're using the bilinear curve you're trading off peak-time accuracy for accuracy in the tail

Nice article on the DANA RS. With no FDA filing looks to be long way off for US. http://www.healthline.com/diabetesmine/dana-rs-insulin-pump-embraces-wearenotwaiting#1

The DANAIIS is approved here, so if you acquire a pump elsewhere in the meantime, you should be able to get supplies here
But for anyone considering, I'd recommend watching a video with someone handling their pump/working the menus on screen. It's different than most of the pumps currently on the market here.

one thing that bothers me about DANA R(S) and almost no-go is the proprietary battery, you cant buy it nowhere but from SOOIL, if you on vacations and lose your spare(s) then you are out of luck.
