can anyone post what an entry with raw bg (e.g., from xdrip+) looks like in ~/myopenaps/raw-cgm/raw-entries.json (or its equivalent for an xdrip+ uploader)?

@luucvp_twitter theoretically it will just work, but we only get to test this once a year, so no guarantees

Hi All, I'm trying to setup openaps, seems to work so far, but i have a (maybe dumb) question on the offline setup with xdrip
i'm trying to use bluetooth tethering on my phone, but i think it gives be a different ip address when on bluetooth tethering outside my home, and when i'm within my home network, so how can i setup the correct rig-ip-address?
is there a local name instead of an ip-address?
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Oct 29 2017 01:52
ah, my bad, i just noticed the advanced option section, i guess i need to figure out all possble addresses for my rig.

@scottleibrand Here's a silly question - if I do a git pull in ~/src/oref0 is that all I need to upgrade if it's just oref0 dev code changes? Or do I really need to do a full oref0-setup?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 29 2017 03:15
Depends on the nature of the change. If new files are added you need npm run global-install. If preferences are changed you need oref0-setup.
jaylagorio
@jaylagorio
Oct 29 2017 03:15
But let's say you make some mods to determine-basal. Git pull by itself is fine?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 29 2017 03:24
Ya, as long as you've previously done npm run global-install on that branch.

sorry guys but basic question.... I am changeing my preferences, but once I change them how do I make sure they will save? do i just "x" to exit or is there anohter command to ensure it writes over my previously set preferences.... also for "maxSMBBasalMinutes" confused as it indicates you should try 30 but then it also says this option has to be true, so not sure how to put that in
image.png
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 29 2017 04:01
Just Control-X to exit and hit yes to save.
30 is the default, so specifying that will do nothing different unless you change it later. Not sure what you saw that says true there.

Oct 29 2017 04:08
sorry i mis read... but what is this talking about "Other SMB adjustments include: The preference of enabling SMB to always be on. (Leaving this as false (off) means the existing SMB toggles for carbs, temp targets, etc. will be what drives SMB behaviors.)", can you expand on what this means? is it saying if you put false next to SMB it wont use the new features?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 29 2017 04:19
No, it's saying there's a new hidden feature that turns it always on. You probably don't want that.
DaisyHK
@laurathiessen

?
k so I should change what setting then?
also how once i am done in preferences do i get out of it? ctrl x doesnt seem to work....

Great, the timeshift went perfect. Was even confused this morning about what the time was because I didn't expect the pump to change its time automagically haha

The time change did not go perfectly for us. The rig set the time on the pump immediately, but it did not loop during the entire double hour. It also kept setting the time on the pump again and again although it was correct. All this resolved at 3am. Maybe the rig was confused by future entries in the pump.

@alimhassam You can connect via Serial port, do
iwconfig wlan0 txpower off; sleep 180; iwconfig wlan0 txpower auto
to kill wi-fi for 3 minutes. Wait for Rig to connect to phone (BT icon will on phone will get extra triangles on sides). Do
ifconfig bnep0 and you'll get output with assigned IP address.
NOTE: you'll be able to connect only from devices within subnet mask 255.255.255.0 (your phone only, most likely). Do it with Termius. Your wifi will kick in after 3minutes, don't forget

Hi all again, i'm having bigger problems, my rig can't keep it's connection to the pump it seems. It works for a bit, but then the connection keeps dropping and i get stuck in a waiting state with some mmeowlink.exceptions.CommsException: Could not get subg_rfspy state or version. Have you got the right port/device and radio_type? errors
and then it never recovers, the pump is really close to the rig
but i keep getting CommsException. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be or how to solve this?
or anything?

trying the dev branch now, to see if something got fixed there, or if i get similar issues.

have you tried resetting edison (assuming that's what you're using)?
alimhassam

what do you mean by "resetting"?
reboot? or is that something different?
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 29 2017 13:34
anybody ever experience IFTTT entering multiple entries (unintended)
nope; literally mean removing and reinserting processor on the explorer board....
I have had this issue and was never able to resolve it on one explorer board
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Oct 29 2017 13:35
and did it work on different hardware?
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 29 2017 13:38
that's certainly someting worth trying if you have hardware to swap around to isolate where the issue is coming from
mine never got working permanently, unfortunately.
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Oct 29 2017 13:38
i don't
do you still use explorer board?
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 29 2017 13:39
not that one. I tried contacting company; never got back to me.
hamshield
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Oct 29 2017 13:40
what makes me think that it's a configuration or software issue as opposed to a hardware issue is because it works for a couple loops, but then stops working.
did end up getting a new explorer board from somewhere else?
i also got mine from hamshield
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 29 2017 13:42
Ihave 4 explorer boards now...I have many becuase inevitably one or more won't be working...and I like that there are so many around in case--plus one hasnt left my bedside in a long while.
hardware issues can occur when parts go bad...and can reoccur...did you try to reflash?
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Oct 29 2017 13:44
not yet, but i guess i'll have to try that
garykidd
@garykidd
Oct 29 2017 13:46
I find it pretty easy now---I think the docs are well written...I've been able to re-flash multiple times without any issues....humor me and try to reset edison first.

Note though - Pi 0 W needs some work in order to be able to loop with in a reasonable time frame
Pi 3 is much more usable out of the box

@dmdfreak that's what I did. My initial plan was to have rig 2 with more advanced features and rig 1 my daily one... but one night they were both side by side and my work in progress rig took over. It was a really good night BG-wize so I figured I'd update so both rigs were the same. Unless you're doing something specific with 1 rig, I'd make them both the same.
