@bmammon that is actually a minor error condition where there is a pump record that openaps doesn't understand. It will probably self-resolve after 24h.

Running the current dev version of oref1, having issues with sustained high BG levels that take what seems forever to come down. The impression is that setting temp targets has a much larger effect on BG, and that without setting them the BG will hover around 180 ish for long periods instead of converging on the target of 135. It gets there, but only after prodding and pushing.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 30 2017 09:40
Why are you running with such a high target normally?
And are you talking about a temp target all the way down to 80, or something higher?
Are you running autosens and autotune?
LilDucky
@LilDucky
Oct 30 2017 09:48
Highish target is conservatism until the loop is behaving in our comfort zone. Running both autotune and autosens. Setting an exercise temp target around 160 or a lower one seems to provoke better response than just leaving it to its own devices.
Normal target is 7.5 mmol/l
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 30 2017 09:50
Setting a high temp target lowers BG more than a lower normal target? That doesn't make much sense.
I would start by looking at decisions the loop is making and drilling down on any you think are incorrect.
LilDucky
@LilDucky
Oct 30 2017 09:56
The decisions look logical, but without setting a temp target it seems to just hover high with the “eventual BG” near target message
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 30 2017 10:06
What changes when you set a high temp target?
And how high is IOB?
And what do autosens and autotune report? I need data to work with here.
LilDucky
@LilDucky
Oct 30 2017 10:11
Autotune is homing in on the numbers and looks far better than with 0.5.5
basal needs some more tweaking but is fairly close.
I will try and capture screen shots when it is actually happening. IOB is highish but not at the limit.
This has been rather nebulous up till now and it is hard to try and associate it with the type of food or other variables like activity etc.

Hi All, i was able to loop the entire day yesterday, but got a radio disconnection again during the night. I really think my issue is software not hardware.
Once the issue happens it can never reconnect to my pump, even with a reboot.
After more investigation, i noticed that something is causing the ~/myopenaps/monitor/mmtune.json to become empty

~/myopenaps/monitor# cat mmtune.json
{}

fixing this file and rebooting makes the loop work once more. Would anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

I didn't dig much that than, but i'll have to try to understand what's causing this file to become blank. It seems like something is not handling an error very well and is corrupting the settings.

@tim2000s no, only for small tests and never uploading to rig/ns. but, i got it working, the error i posted looks like part of one of the dependency installs. fyi, i'm using xdrip-js+receiver calibration to feed oref0, locally.

Has anyone seen this with autosens on the Dev .6 branch? I had a night of high BS in the 170-220 range for about 6 hrs and an evelvated basal (maybe i'm getting sick/fighting infection) so insulin resistence. Autosens ran twice, the first time showing resistence and the second time "normal". Looks like a bug as it is running twice:

What drives SMB behaviors when SMB features are toggled "always on"? I can't find info describing the basic difference between enabling "always on" vs. enabling ALL 3 other triggers (temp targets, carb entries, pump bolus).
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 30 2017 15:16
@diabeticpilot that is working as designed. It runs autosens twice, once on 8h of data and once on 24h, and uses the more sensitive of the two. That allows it to more quickly detect sensitivity while being more conservative about detecting resistance (to avoid false positives due to non-excluded carb absorption).
If you wanted to PR in a change to the autosens code, it might be good to add a log line before each run saying which it's doing, but for now you can tell which is which by which uses more deviations, and what it says at the end about which it used.
Travis Cannell
@diabeticpilot
Oct 30 2017 16:29
@scottleibrand Thanks for the explination! I noticed that it does log "using XXX most recent derivations" so it actually makes sense on a second read, i'll consider a PR and look at the autosens code
@danimaniac the main difference I know right off the bat is at nighttime. Enabling all 3 triggers is still not enough for SMBs to come on at night becuasue typically there is no temp target, no carbs and no UAM
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Oct 30 2017 17:05
UAM does trigger at night, but there's nothing to trigger SMBs then.

Is there any way to adjust the limits to SMB in dev branch? I (and everyone?) would love to move towards not needing to manually bolus for meals, but I find the max half of basal SMB too little. If we are moving towards this model with Fiasp as a new norm could the SMB amount be adjustable and potentially controlled by limits much like autosens?

@peterlynton we generally keep an open PR to track notes while we're still finessing everything - so if in doubt, take a look at the list of PRs and you'll likely spot one. also best practice recommendationt to read it before installing dev, but you get to the same place :) eventually

i ask because - when I first spun up my edison, I was running some early jubilinux version, and my Edison filled up, … indeed it was the log files

@yduncan - poor man’s way (probably a better way from command line, but I’m not certain) : see http://www.jubilinux.org/dist/ - if you still have the jubilinux zip file you used to flash your Edison, I’d personally recommend jubilinux-v0.1.1.zip … you should be able to check the zip file length, or compare the md5sum of your .zip file with each of the downloads here

@yduncan I would cd ~/myopenaps && rm -rf .git

Wait about 10 minutes and see if the git directory rebuilds itself and loop begins running again.

If you get any hassle or failure with above, you can instead just remove the whole myopenaps directory and reinstall it:

cd && rm -rf myopenaps

and then run your setup script like normal....

cd && ~/src/oref0/bin/oref0-setup.sh

We've moved away from git in dev; but since you're brand new; I would stick with master until you have some experience

@yduncan try
uname -a
Linux etghopenaps0 3.10.98-poky-edison #5 SMP PREEMPT Tue Apr 4 22:42:44 EDT 2017 i686 GNU/Linux
that is, just try uname -a
the response would suggest which jubilinux you’re running

@yduncan ok - wondering whether you configured your logs to be compressed per openaps setup docs - that had been another one of my problems

@scottleibrand and it was a protein heavy meal too
where can I find the effects of the exercise_mode and adv_target_adjustments flags?

openaps/oref0#707 has the details on exercise mode
we no longer recommend adv_target_adjustment, as other new features in dev do a better job of safely bringing down highs
