@dcacklam Assuming you mean CC111x-based radios (TI eval board, SRF/XRF products, RileyLink) as alternatives, you don't need JTAG for any of them. You either need a TI CC Debugger (or maybe a cheap Chinese clone?), or a Linux host with GPIO pins (Edison or Raspberry Pi) that can use ccprog.

Hi you all, OpenAPS docs and comunity posts have said that v 0.6.0 master has stopped bolus snooze. Was it to crude when BG rising post prandialy such that users found elevated BG for extended periods of time? For me using older OpenAPS versions I've seen zero temp basal rates post meal often. My practice often is to eat some of the meal and wait to eat some of the meal.

@ecc1
Thanks.
And yeah, that's what I mean. Something like the 'Slice of Radio' (out of production, but still for sale on Amazon), that I can hook up to a Pi Zero W via GPIO pins, along with some-sort of lipo battery interface...
@ecc1 Most of the instructions said there was a need for a GoodFET or CC Debugger, which raises the cost of the device quite a bit over just attaching it to the Pi Zero & running ccprog the way I do for the explorer/edison rig when it dumps it's FW
The explorer hat may-well be a better deal, but it's also 'not ready yet'...

@dcacklam I think those instructions just pre-date @ps2's ccprog work. There are slight differences in firmware for the SRF stick than the TI stick (PM me if you need to go that route), but pretty sure either can be flashed with ccprog just like the Explorer

@dcacklam early feb for Pi HAT probably
@Aaybob not too crude, but confusing for many people to see zero temps after a meal.
@bjarecki @PieterGit @drnoname82 you can have dia set to whatever you want in the pump, but OpenAPS will use the default according to which curve you're using. @bjarecki did you switch to exponential curves, or are you using bilinear in 0.6.0? Also, for highs, when are your highs happening? What is your meal bolus strategy, and what is your maxiob and did you adjust maxiob?
Seeing a lot of people missing the memo about maxiob being influenced by the changes in bolus snooze code. Most people do need to increase their maxiob, since it now takes into account manual bolus iob as well as basal and SMB iob

@endafarrell Nightrider. I use Blukon as synonym to Nightrider. So, it's Libre sensor, Nightrider, xdrip+, NS, OAPS rig (you can make also: Libre sernsor, Nightrider, xdrip+, OAPS rig, NS)

I am on the road so my ability to fix things is limited. My edison/explorer board is communicating via my iPhone bluetooth hotspot. I've rebooted the phone and the Edison, but here's the situation. On my nightscout (heroku) page, I've got the current bG just fine, the pump communication is just fine, but openaps hasn't communicated in over 2 hours. In a terminal on my mac, I am running "tail -F /var/log/openaps/pump-loop.log" and as far as I can tell, there do not seem to be any errors.
But I just got a microbolus, so it is running but it is still RED on the NS page.

The symptoms seem to match the troubleshooting guide and my size on disk was 496mb. I did the repair database command which came back OK, but on my home page the size on disk is still 496mb. Does it take a while for the displayed value to update ? This is only a curiosity question, since my NS site is now working normally Thanks for the advice!

My insulin doses are not showing up on Nightscout when using bolus wizard (only carbs show up). I think this started when I updated to Habanero Red, i'm currently on the master branch. I haven't checked the logs yet, but i'm worried this might affect OpenAPS's calculation of IOB. Anyone else have this issue?

@bmammon check the logs to ease your worries
You can confirm in the logs if your bolus is being seen and iob increasing properly

@rdobb I haven't heard anyone on these channels talking about tslim pumps - so I guess if there is some news, it can't be very good or it's yet a long way off. There are possibilities for Roche Combo pumps sometime in the future but I don't think that they're ready for use (yet?) either.
@bmammon I'm on Nightscout dev (updated a couple of days ago) and for my 722 I get both carbs and insulin.

@PopcornPam_twitter So this problem exists on a dev branch, and on master, but both when connected to the iPhone 8? Do you have any other devices to you tether and check to see if it's iOS 11 that's causing the headaches? Assuming BT tethering?

@alimhassam / @scottleibrand Being on NovoRapid (and not being in any way low-carb), I need to prebolus, but when i use the 722 bolus wizard Nightscout shows insulin and carbs at the same time. Is there a sensible way to get those two events separated - 15 to 20 min usually? Or is it something's not really worth pursuing?

i do the same, i don't think it causes any issues, the algorithm handles it pretty well.

I noticed the same thing myself...
When I first started OpenAPS (on the pre-0.6 dev-branch), bolus wizard activity flowed through in pairs... Then it... stopped... Sometime before the 0.6.1-dev release...
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Dec 06 2017 21:11
i've never used pre-0.6 dev branch, so i'm not the best to answer this. But is it causing any issues? or is it just a display issue in NS?

I just stopped using the BW & began entering everything through xdrip
alimhassam
@alimhassam
Dec 06 2017 21:37
right, that`s the recommended way with 0.6.0 due to the A52
Dave Acklam
@dcacklam
Dec 06 2017 21:41
I was doing it pre 0.6.0, with my ever-so-fun 712 pump (hey, it was $125 with a pile of supplies off CL) & no SMB...
Enda Farrell
@endafarrell
Dec 06 2017 21:44
@dcacklam - so xDrip for data entry, don't use the pump Bolus Wizard - and you yourself don't rely on a "bolus calculator" of any sort?
Dave Acklam
@dcacklam
Dec 06 2017 21:55

@endafarrell
I'd either use the BW to calculate but not to execute (do a manual bolus)... Or just do the carbs/units math manually... The issue I had with the BW was that the carbs weren't showing up in NS... And that 'retroactive carbs' also did not make it into the loop's COB.

Flip side of that is I'm a recently diagnosed 1.5, and thus what works for me very-well-may-not work for anyone else because of the fact that I still have some biological function left (just not enough to live without shots or a pump, even with meds)...

So while I have hopefully useful in contributions toward x12 pump ops & tech stuff, my experience actually using OpenAPS is probably (hey, I don't know - I just hit the 1yr anniversary of my diagnosis) pretty different from folks who have had diabetes ever since they were a kid & have no natural function left.

Enda Farrell
@endafarrell
Dec 06 2017 22:08
@dcacklam - good to know - I like the BW to calculate idea. My meals vary quite a bit, and I'm nearly 40 years diagnosed, so no natural function left at all :-)

I think I need some help here. I've read http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Customize-Iterate/autotune.html and openaps/oref0#261. The thing I need help on is that what autotune says about my pump's basals (second column) is not what is actually on my pump (and these settings have not changed over the 3 days I ran autotune over.

Parameter | Pump | Autotune | Actually on pump

ISF [mg/dL/U] | 81.078 | 93.027 |
Carb Ratio[g/U]| 10.000 | 8.681 |
Basals [U/hr] | - | |
00:00 | 1.136 | 1.052 | 1.20
01:00 | 1.223 | 1.174 | 1.25
02:00 | 1.292 | 1.291 | 1.30
03:00 | 1.305 | 1.314 |
04:00 | 1.278 | 1.267 |
05:00 | 1.291 | 1.291 |
06:00 | 1.284 | 1.263 |
07:00 | 1.460 | 1.432 | 1.50
08:00 | 1.406 | 1.330 |
09:00 | 1.101 | 1.112 | 1.10
10:00 | 1.017 | 1.050 | 1.00
11:00 | 1.022 | 1.024 |
12:00 | 0.901 | 0.950 | 0.80
13:00 | 0.901 | 0.950 |
14:00 | 0.901 | 0.950 |
15:00 | 0.881 | 0.925 |
16:00 | 0.778 | 0.764 |
17:00 | 0.781 | 0.769 |
18:00 | 0.790 | 0.783 |
19:00 | 0.875 | 0.866 | 0.85
20:00 | 0.870 | 0.848 |
21:00 | 0.834 | 0.765 | 0.90
22:00 | 0.852 | 0.739 | 1.00
23:00 | 0.892 | 0.730 | 1.10
I've added that fourth column myself to the autotune output in the basals section.
