@joannestevens @efidoman and others that have problems with a Explorer micro USB connector that have come off. Can you please check if openaps/docs#1193 is helpfull. See https://github.com/PieterGit/docs/blob/201801_microusb/docs/docs/Troubleshooting/Edison-hardware-troubleshooting.md for a rendered version. Any help to make the page better is appreciated (I'm not a native speaker).

@ejoe132 : are you running the flashall.bat on a windows or unix/mac box?
For Windows you need flashall.bat, for Unix/Mac you need flashall.sh

Hi All,
Our son's rig has stopped bluetooth tethering for some reason. Working through the docs again, I tried manually initiating the tethering using sudo bt-pan client AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF but I get following error:

I've recently noticed an increased data usage from bluetooth tether. Has some more ns communications recently been added?

Does anybody here know if the SRF/XRF/ERF can be ccprog'ed
?
I am trying to find the correct pin combination, with no success
how did you get hold of ERF/SRF/XRF?
kallnap
@kallnap
Jan 03 2018 07:35
this is for the ERF, I do have an SRF but not yet had time to flash it (tbh I always flashed with help from @ceben80) For the XRF I need to dig in my old Data, I had a PDF I downloaded a year (just found a link https://www.element14.com/community/dtss-images/uploads/devtool/diagram/large/XRF__Wireless_Data_Module.png)
I should have a potentially correct pin layout for the SRF module itself, but will definitely need to dig deeper (@ceben80 did I send you a copy?)

I bought a RasWIK from Seed Studio
Comes with 1 XRF adruino board & one Slice of Radio
The 'objective' was to get the Slice of Radio, for use with a Pi
kallnap
@kallnap
Jan 03 2018 07:46
@dcacklam so if you got hold of the XRF as shown, the pinout I linked should work. I use one myself and the range is fine

Jan 03 2018 08:12
@PieterGit thank you for the hint, I think I am currently good with 4-5 rigs to chose from
on the other hand the slice of radio is missing in my collection, but I rather leave the remaining ones for people who really need it.
@dcacklam really nice catch and thanks for sharing the information. This is what the whole community is about

Got a weird one.. beginning late last night, the OpenAPS Nightscout pull started aging out (showing no activity for hours), but looking at the rig logs and Nightscout shows that we are looping (seeing temps set, etc):

Hi, looking for some help getting started. I have a medtronic VEO (554) pump, and Dexcom G5. My android phone (note 4) is too old for dexcom app, and I don't have a minimed connect for the medtronic pump. Is there someway I can get data from these devices into nightscout?

@efidoman start a new branch on your copy of the docs
Then do the fix and open the Pr. Otherwise, anything on the same branch gets pulled into an open PR
PieterGit

Jan 03 2018 16:15
@efidoman : you need to do a fresh git checkout of the dev branch. You can use https://git-scm.com/docs/git-cherry-pick to cherry pick your previous commits on that branch, and then git push it. On the other branch you can use https://git-scm.com/docs/git-revert . What git client do you use? Let us know if you need more assistence.
if you want to test the two branches combined, you can use a third git checkoutand pull the other two branches to that personal dev branch

i use sourcetree git client, but i'm using windows, it's available for windows and mac, https://www.sourcetreeapp.com/ . Most people only use the git cli commands
i didn't like the github studio git client (buggy as hell)
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
Jan 03 2018 16:21
@efidoman just create a new branch then
That's what I do on web and why I made that recommendation - easiest to do. Then you can go back to your other branch to continue w your other edits and originally Pr
Scott also made some command line recommendations for how to cherry pick that commit off, which works for this one commit, but it's helpful to understand how to do it in the future (e.g. Separate branch)

@kallnap That's not what I have.

I have an Arduino XRF (which has a SRF mounted to it) and a Slice of Radio (which is a RasPI GPIO add-on with an SRF attached)

er, xinoRF
Logically, the xinorf could be used with an Edison/Arduino-baseboard... The Slice is what I actually bought it for (to use with a raspi based rig)

FWIW, for anyone wanting 'Slice of Radio' boards, or just SRF boards that can be desoldered & hacked into whatever you are doing:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00VYA1X06/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
Seed Studio is out directly, but some folks still have the RasWIK in stock
(and for reference, I am looking for the SRF gpio pinout)
as employed by the 'Slice of Radio' Pi GPIO board
Dave Acklam
@dcacklam
Jan 03 2018 19:20
Right now I am trying to brute force the pin combo (there are 21 pins on the SRF and 26 pins on the gpio header... 17k total combinations
Should take about 4 hours
If it works

I have xdrip+ reading BG data and correctly uploading it to Nightscout. OpenAPS reads insulin treatments from the pump and uploads it to Nightscout. This works fine when I am connected to a known wifi and BT tethering. But I suspect the rig is not able to read BG data from NS when on wifi , because when I go for a walk with the dog and rig switches to BT tether the system works fine. The error message I get when on wifi is: ´´´
Jan 03 21:18:13 edison ns-loop.log: ns://JSON/shell/settings/temptargets.json
Jan 03 21:18:13 edison ns-loop.log: reporting settings/temptargets.json
´´´
Error message.... ´´´Jan 03 21:22:08 edison ns-loop.log: ns://JSON/shell/cgm/ns-glucose.json
Jan 03 21:22:08 edison ns-loop.log: No JSON object could be decoded´´´
Any suggestions on what can be wrong and since the dog does not want another long trip....

Wifi: Rig can upload pump data to NS, but error when attempting to read BG from NS. No JSON could be decoded. BT: rig works perfect both uploading and downloading from NS.
OpenAPS pill reads "If current system time is correct, then BG data is too old". Only when connected to wifi, rig runs perfect when outside on BT.

@PieterGit Thanks. I should've remember this from the last time the problem occurred. We're using the free mongolabs account and the devicestatus collection hit it's max quota. Cleanened it out like so and back in business:
rs-ds062097:PRIMARY> db.devicestatus.remove({created_at : {$lt : "2017-11-30"}})
WriteResult({ "nRemoved" : 31617 })
PieterGit

Jan 03 2018 22:55
@danamlewis what issues do you refer to with current dev?
@sbernacki : no problem, can you PR this nice way of cleaning out the device status to the docs? perhaps with a hint to use data commons data donation first, https://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Give%20Back-Pay%20It%20Forward/data-commons-data-donation.html
Steve Bernacki

Jan 03 2018 22:59
Sure will. I was also thinking of digging a bit into Nightscout to see if there was a way I could modify the interface to autoclean this table so it only keeps the last X records. There may be a way to do this purely with mongo as well, I'll need to look. Will look into the data donation component.
