those aren't errors
those are warnings
and in this case, they're warnings that are completely normal, and you can ignore
in linux, an error is something that prevents you from doing what you want to do. a warning is something you might or might not need to worry about, but which doesn't prevent the program from proceeding

@andyhandy not normal, but it's just a cosmetic annoyance. fixed in dev.

ok thanks @scottleibrand I cant for the life of me figure out what's going on today. The papertrail logs seem to suggest openaps is running smoothly but the openaps pill box in NS indicates the loop hasn't run for 3 hours ("waiting"). Meanwhile NS is showing the temp basal changes being made by openaps and showing meal boluses. Very strange.

That should show if it boots.
@ArvoNiilo you want 'less' not 'tail'.

Basic summary of linux text display commands: head gives you the top of the file, tail gives you the end, grep finds things in the file and displays the relevant line, more displays the file one screenfull at a time, less displays it so you can scroll through and/or search it, and cat dumps the whole thing out to the screen in one go

if you're building a new rig today, you should find an Edison on eBay or similar and buy an Explorer Board from ERD. If you already have an Explorer Board rig and would like to build a new one with a screen, you can order the new Explorer HATs for the Raspberry Pi from ERD, but they won't ship until probably April.

now how to
after this sentence "Login to your Nightscout site host (azure or heroku) and (1) add your Maker Key to the MAKER_KEY line and (2) add “maker” to your ENABLE line."
in the webpage it has "IFTTT NS Maker key" and "IFTTT NS Enable" what does this mean do i need to add ?
no clear instructions for these two

I can't see it on the page and have never had the lines in Nightscout settings. You can test by installing IFTTT on your phone and trying some of the example code http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Customize-Iterate/ifttt-integration.html#example-ifttt-trigger-content

@azizmarafie ok well there's something wrong with your code somewhere. Try creating a different button such as Pump Site change and if that doesn't work you need to check your IFTTT setup first. A correct button should show as a grey dot on Nightscout and show up in treatments too.

@PeetuHongisto n your internet browser, open a console window while viewing your Nightscout site. Make sure you have “authenticated” your site by using your API secret in the Nightscout settings area (hint: if you see a little padlock in the upper left corner of the site, you haven’t authenticated it). Refresh the site and your hashed secret key will be shown as “apisecrethash: “xxxxxxxxxx...””
i am on internerexplorer
cant see the hash
peterlynton

@vebaba for dnsmasq you may need to do it manually if it’s errored:

Perhaps just the second command if it never got installed properly to begin with.

@vebaba - to solve that issue I had to do:

@scottleibrand - headless. The rig is operating as an AP and made itself available however, it came up with an SSID of the host name rather than OpenAPS and wouldn’t accept the password in hostapd.conf

Did you try the default password or modify it? SSID should be hostname: are there out of date docs?
Tim Street

Feb 22 2018 19:08
I tried both. With the default password it doesn’t work. When I changed it the iPhone spins and doesn’t get to the enter password stage.
I took the ssid from the hostapd.conf code in dev. May have misread that though.

wondering how folks would handle a no carb heavy protein meal...fairly low fat...think 8 oz rotisserie chicken..mostly breast meat....in terms of bolusing any or not....any thoughts?
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 22 2018 19:23
It varies dependent on how fatty the meat is. I had 180g of chicken breast with lunch today, so told OpenAPS half the protein weight as carbs and gave myself 3u of Humalog. Should have given more as ended up at 10mmol/l.
garykidd
@garykidd
Feb 22 2018 19:33
@tim2000s so to make sure I goy your scenario correctly...you bolused as if you were eating 90g of carbs....and how much was the 3g as a % of what 90g would require in total?
and did you enterit as 90g in careportal...or leave it as zero carbs---that'd be an interesting thing to think about how to evidence in NS/ careportal for such situations....thinking how it affects autotune/sensitivity/etc.
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 22 2018 19:37
No I entered carbs into NightScout for 50% of the protein in the chicken breast then bolused 3u upfront.
garykidd
@garykidd
Feb 22 2018 19:38
not clear still...how many carbs did you enter in NS?
Tim Street
@tim2000s
Feb 22 2018 19:49
checkout the amount of protein in chicken breast by weight, i.e. 100g chicken contains xg protein. Divide that in two. enter x/2 g carbs in nightscout
