I am having connectivity issues because of the wifi at work. IT department is willing to create my own network but I need to let them know the TCP and UDP ports to allow access. Does anyone know how I find these?

NTP is one they’ll probably need to open up. Nightscout just uses 443 (or 80) which should already be.

I was able to connect to the wifi at home with no problem yesterday. I was on bluetooth with my iphone all day today and that worked fine. Yesterday I could jump between the two. I tried to add the wifi and password for work and couldn't get on. I didn't change anything with the code for my network and password at home but now I can't get on. I tried to delete the work ones. I rebooted the rig. I restarted the rig. I was just watching the log and got a string of kernels and now it is stuck. I tried dmesg -D to stop the kernels but that won't work. Any ideas for what got messed up with wifi and how to fix it without having to go on cellular data all night?

@RedCyclist1 I don’t know about iPhone 8 but the bt tethering works well with my iPhone X
@scottleibrand After pairing with the first phone, would I re-run OpenAPS setup with the -bt and new BT value before trying to pair (and before updating cron)?

I have been able to stop the kernels by writing a line of code recommended by @Kdisimone but I still cant get it to connect to wifi.

@skubesch all oref0-setup does with BT is update your cron for you. The main thing is getting the new MAC paired with bluetoothctl.

@danamlewis
How are you? That was the problem at least the loop now runs, anyway I still have an error that I will analyze and I will bother you again. Thanks for now

@scottleibrand
Thank you because I was able to get the reports with your instructions and then identify the problem. As I said, I still have some inconvenience, so maybe I'll bother you again. Regards

point is - from earlier today - took a long time to finally establish a downtrend, despite low temp targets at some points
question - are there some obvious adjustments to make?

Now it gives me another kind of mistakes that I do not know,
maybe they can help me. In red mark what caught my attention
may have nothing to do but may indicate an error. I attached a
photo of the loop. Thank you very much

@HebertPin I don't know where this issue (BG too old) comes from, but I found a way to resolve it. Just run ./oref0-runagain.sh within ~/myopenaps . It works for me every time this happens. Don't forget to update your preferences when script is done.

Continues: BT worked all day yesterday and previously I could
I couldn't get connected to my home wifi all night so didn't loop overnight. BT worked yesterday while I was at work. Previously I was able (for the first 24 hours of use) to go back and forth from BT to wifi with minimal delay. Now I can't get it to connect to wifi. I have rebooted the rig, turned it off and back on. Any other thoughts on next steps? The code looks ok in the cat-wifi.

@achris2000 BG too old usually means your rig is offline. Easier to fix connectivity than to have to reinstall

@mhaeberli looks like the previous meal's COB had decayed all the way to zero, but you were still seeing effects from it. that likely indicates carbs were underestimated or CR was too high for that meal. keep an eye on whether autotune recommends lowering CR.

@achris2000
May 01 2018 16:14
@danamlewis thats the point, it happens while rig is connected and nightscout is updated with latest bg values.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 01 2018 16:20
does your rig get BGs from NS or directly from a connected CGM receiver?
achris2000
@achris2000
May 01 2018 16:30
@scottleibrand if you ask me, from NS.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 01 2018 16:36
@achris2000 then BGs coming to NS from your CGM doesn't mean the rig is online. Check rig connectivity the next time you get a BG too old message.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 01 2018 16:43
and /var/log/openaps/ns-loop.log shows what the rig is doing when it tries to download those BGs from NS.

@danamlewis we have had a 'bg too old' issue for a whole day, while my daughter was at home, rig connected to wifi all the time (online).
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 01 2018 16:48
@achris2000 let's dive in the next time it happens and see if there is something else going on. May be an issue with the router, etc. First step is to check NS-Loop log, and I'd also confirm that the rig can ping google.com as well

@danamlewis started digging in... While pump-loop.log shows "BG data is too old", ns-loop.log says "ns://JSON/shell/cgm/ns-glucose.json
No JSON object could be decoded".

are you using xdripaps for offline CGM data?

@achris2000
May 01 2018 17:21
At least I have configured it as an option in the REST-API url , for the bluetooth tethering IP, and for the WiFi tethering IP. The thing is, bluetooth tethering fails when mobile internet access is not available.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 01 2018 17:22
"No JSON object could be decoded" indicates the rig couldn't get data from NS.
achris2000
@achris2000
May 01 2018 17:28
yes, you are right. The one case I examined now in the logs, shows that the 'BG too old' stops when the rig gets connected again. I am pretty sure though, I had the issue with the rig connected, because I was reading the logs through papertrail. Will have to wait until the next time it happens.

Future data. Open APS, Timezone redone on rig. Kill all etc. Phone/pump zones look ok. No NS data properly for 24 hours. Database compressed. Future entries etc deleted from NS admin several times. This screen shot of output from timezone process. Suggestions welcome to get it going.

@danamlewis so I tried the trouble shooting steps, but I'm getting an error installing ncdu and it won't allow me to logrotate because of space too... see screenshot

Bluetooth on iPhone 7 connecting sporadically. I want to use the wifi hotspot rather than the BT. How do I disable the BT? (will sudo killall bluetoothd do it?)
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 01 2018 21:41
probably best not to actually disable bluetooth, but to tell oref0-online to stop using it by removing the MAC from the oref0-online call in crontab

Running oref0-setup fresh again to test out 0.6.1dev. The apt-get upgrade is prompting to continue- I don't remember it doing that before. Was the -y flag removed for some reason?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 01 2018 23:48
not on purpose.
there has never been a -y there
if you'd like to do a PR to add one, I'd be happy to merge it.
