@danamlewis and @scottleibrand I am going to test 0.6.1 now, using this as a base setup: http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Customize-Iterate/update-your-rig.html so issuing cd ~/src/oref0 && git checkout dev && git pull and npm run global-install do i need to run setup again?
oh whoops I should have stopped the cron daemon first... eek!
ah good a simple systemctl stop cron did that, systemd is nice :D

Does anyone have precise spacing and hole-size info for the mounting holes on the Edison Explorer board? I'm trying to do a screw-mount based case for my resurrected Edison rig

@jimrandomh I'm trying to pull up the .cad file now, but all the others except the .gifs do not actually have the holes
They are circuit-fab diagrams for all the various electronic components...
Dave Acklam
@dcacklam
May 02 2018 02:39
What I am looking for is a precise diagram of the screw-holes only, that can be turned into a 3d printer model
James Babcock
@jimrandomh
May 02 2018 03:02
I'm not aware of any. The 3D print model I made, I measured stuff to low precision and didn't really depend on the holes
Is this for Edison+LiPo?

@jimrandomh
This is for an edison/explorer rig and an AdaFruit 6000mah 3x18650 blister-pack cell.

It has to be screwed down well enough that it can handle being used in a rather brutal environment for the next 3 weeks, until I finish the training program I'm in right now and go back to my 'normal' life as a sysadmin.

I've got everything sized up perfectly to print except the mounting holes.

Thanks
By the way it used to work properly until yesterday
Note about jubilinux versions. Some people experienced issues with jubilinux 0.2.0. There is a fix in the oref0 dev branch, so if none of the above steps resolve an “unknown” pill in Nightscout, try oref0 dev. (As of August 6, 2017). After you install dev, make sure to reboot your rig, after which the changes should resolve the problem in Nightscout.

I am still unable to get my NS future data removed and display sorted. I have done deletions under NS Admin, I have deleted files in device status in mongo, I have restarted dyno, I have re-done my rig's timezone to Europe/London and I have done the kill all command to set clocks which came back confirmed. I have sufficient space in mongo. 48 hours and still not working. I am running all Medtronic (pump and CGM). I use mobile data a lot (especially at home). Rig rarely picks up internet. Rig picks up wifi ok at school as very good there. Suggestions please?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 02 2018 16:16
It may be stored in the pump funky. What is the future date?
One idea would be to pull battery from pump and leave it out for a while and then put a new one in and see if it forgets future data, if it's on the pump. (Downside of course would be losing that CGM sensor session too)
LinnBee
@petrichordb
May 02 2018 16:19
I did change battery yesterday and today but I did not leave out. Could do that. The Pill (not displaying at all at moment) has been saying approx -55 mins) so its an hour out. It seems to always do this when Open APS not used for a few days but I cannot resolve this time.

check that the nightscout URL is correct in oref0-runagain, and if not, correct it and re-run setup

May 02 2018 18:07
@sjolundjohn per that Pr, you know that's just logging in NS right? OpenAPS doesn't take that into account

@danamlewis thanks for the clarification, I was not. Possible to do in anyway?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:36
probably need to add some clarifying text if you still want to add it in
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 02 2018 18:38
Yea we can just clarify the text that it's a note and won't impact OpenAPS calculations; or you can change the event type to be "note" instead of correction bolus, which also might help limit confusion
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:38
I do want it to be used in the calculations
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:38
that would be inconsistent with the architecture of OpenAPS
you could add a temp target to it to partially compensate for it though
similar to how rescue carbs are entered with a high temp target to avoid SMB
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:39

That is what I thought - the only solution I have found for handeling taking Afrezza is to initiate a bolus on the pump, disconnect, air bolus, reconnect. This way there is a history on the pump of taking Afrezza.

Would love a better solution.

Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:40
even that isn't a perfect solution, because the DIA on injected insulin is much longer than on Afrezza
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:40
Definitely
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:40
the goal is just to avoid dosing any injected insulin until the Afrezza does its job, right?
if so, then a high target (even 200 if you want) for 30m or so would probably be sufficient
after about 30m, the CGM should show BG dropping from the Afrezza, so further dosing would be avoided until BG flattens out
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:41

I typically use Afrezza to correct for a high BG or as part of a meal bolus for a high carb, quick carb meal (like sushi).

So the goal would be that OpenAPS is aware of the insulin onboard.

What is happening is that I take Afrezza and then I end up getting to much basal, and end up going low 1.5h later unless I eat some unannounced carbs.

Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:42
I don't think "OpenAPS is aware of the insulin onboard" is the actual end goal, it's one possible means to that end
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:42
Fair and agreed
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:42
a simpler means is to simply instruct OpenAPS more directly not to give any insulin until it's seen what the Afrezza does
John Sjolund
@sjolundjohn
May 02 2018 18:43

Let me give it a try for a while and I will report back.

I don't take it super frequently - so it may be a while

@scottleibrand @danamlewis thanks for the idea
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 18:44
if you don't have profile.exercise_mode or profile.high_temptarget_raises_sensitivity set, then you might need a high temp target of 160 or more. if you do, then something like 140 would probably be sufficient
allowSMB_with_high_temptarget is also relevant: if that's not set, you won't get any SMBs as long as a >= 111 high target is set
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 02 2018 18:45
:+1: yea I think this a YDMV area, too, as everyone uses it differently, too

May 02 2018 18:46
Thanks - I wouldn't have caught that. I am due for a upgrade of my rigs so I will check this out. For now I am going with a 45 min temp target of 200

@jimrandomh I'm in Montreal traveling to New York next week if you want to arrange something i don't mind. send me a pm :D
Btw any tips on traveling with the rig? Does it work on a plane, never done this before.
James Babcock
@jimrandomh
May 02 2018 21:28
Main issue is cloud dependence. How cloud-dependent your rig is depends on how it gets its CGM data.
It's a radio device, so they'll want it to be off during takeoff and landing, though they aren't likely to notice if you forget. In theory you might get it talking to the cloud through airplane wifi, but don't count on it; at a minimum there's going to be a fee and a captive portal, and captive portals are a compatibility problem.
You'll want a big USB power bank or two. An AC outlet splitter is also nice, it means you never have to fight over outlets.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 02 2018 21:35
if you want to loop offline (inflight) you'll need to either plug in a Dexcom receiver, or use xDripAPS or similar.

but in seriousness, anything 2.4GHz is fine
just put your phone into airplane mode and don't worry about the rig
and turn bluetooth and wifi back on after airplane mode if your phone's OS doesn't do that automatically
