Have a (hopefully) easy battery question: I ran out of power just before I got home today, so my rig was dead when I plugged it in. So right now it shows 12% battery while charging.

I've only got 1 red light on on my explorer board. Usually if I'm charging + looping, there's two. Usually, if I hold down the power button, it reboots itself and I get two lights

right now, if I hold down power, all three lights (two red, and a green) will light up briefly but then go back out
but no reboot, and no second red light
is it just that my rig is so low on power that it can't do it?
and is it weird that the power pill is showing 12% when plugged in?

is there any other way to cycle the power aside from the button?

Hopefully simple API question.. I'm trying to pull the last ten temp basal records where the temp basal is set to zero. This query returns no results even though if I leave off find[absolute]=0 I get back results where absolute is set to zero. curl -g -X GET --header "Accept: application/json" 'https://mysite.azurewebsites.net/api/v1/treatments?count=10&find[eventType]=Temp+Basal&find[absolute]=0'
@BergFulton_twitter what if you plug the power into the other mini usb port?
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 01:34
@sbernacki still reads at 12%
I've also tried a different cable
and tried plugging it into my laptop vs plugging it into my multiplug
still at 12%
haven't been looping for an hour
Actually, I don't have a battery pill now either
Steve Bernacki
@sbernacki
May 17 2018 01:39
Do you have Papertrail set up to see if the rig is online? It could be that it's charging but not powered on, so you're looking at old data. When all else fails, sometimes pulling the battery cable out and back in can be a sure-fire way of power cycling it
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter

What should I be looking at in the papertrail log? I have it set up but I confess I don't really know what I'm looking for
Steve Bernacki
@sbernacki
May 17 2018 01:47
Are you seeing any recent logs? Any activity there will verify that the rig is at least powered on, and connected to the internet
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 01:49
Yeah, looks like Papertrail recieved data a minute ago
Steve Bernacki
@sbernacki
May 17 2018 01:53
OK so those last log entries indicate the rig isn't getting any response from the pump. Make sure it's close enough to the pump, and that the pump battery is fresh/good? Not sure why, but as the battery ages the rig has a harder time communicating with the pump
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 01:55
ok
I'm sitting a bit away from it because the dog has decided to commandeer my side of the bed
how often do most users change battery packs out?
Steve Bernacki
@sbernacki
May 17 2018 01:59
So this is the pump battery, not the rig battery. Every 10-14 days is fairly common but sometimes more often than that

Hi. My openAps pill says unknown and nothing when you click on it. The pump pill says nothing and undefined when you click on it. I’m on the master branch of 0.6.1 but this started before I updated to the new version. Any idea what’s wrong? TIA

Hey there. After my battery woes last night, I fell asleep with loop going.

At about 4AM, looping stopped. This morning, I tried to get everything back into loop, and haven't had any luck. I changed the battery in my pump to see if that would get me back, and no luck.

Papertrail is getting data, so it looks like the rig is connected to the internet: https://imgur.com/a/QE0bwJs

May 17 2018 10:23
Rig log initially said that my pump data was too old. I had an error message about BG data being out of date, and the current time was about 4min behind what it actually was. After letting the rig run, it seems like things are...working? But not coming back into loop?
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 10:37
and it looks like I'm back to having only one red light rather than two

Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter

looks like for some reason BG data isn't making it through, and is like 20 min behind all of a sudden

Is it symptomatic that Nightscout is ignoring all of my commands to silence alarms? I keep getting the alert for being out of loop every 5 min or so when I told it to pause for 120
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 14:14
@BergFulton_twitter might be related if your NS is buggy. How did you rerun setup script? Can you cat your runagain and quadruple check no typo to your NS URL?
(Also, hugs because it sounds like a frustrating morning!!)
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 14:33
@danamlewis Yeah, rough week thus far :-(. I ran
cd && ~/src/oref0/bin/oref0-setup.sh
I just started reflashing again
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 14:34
Ok - so you didn't edit? Wanted to rule out a typo in NS URL being what's preventing BGs from getting to rig
Ok
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 14:41
Its just so strange, it seemed like it'd loop just fine for a bit, then get to a point where my glucose data was out of date by about 20 min
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 14:48
Was NS keeping your BG up to date?
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 14:49
While I was at the gym, yes. My NS data was following along, but I still wasn't looping.

I came home and tried rerunning the set up script, and for a bit, NS didn't know what my BG was.

But now NS is showing accurate & up to date BG data

Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 14:54
How do you get BGs to NS? Wondering if that is the root of the problem
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 14:56
G5 sharing to Dex iPhone app. I've had it stop sharing before, but when I checked that, it was sharing fine with the husband
is it also weird that NS is showing the manual boluses I did on my pump? Because the only way that data gets to NS is via the rig, right?
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 15:01
Correct, rig would be uploading those. Sounds like rig connectivity is fine, which is good
And good for checking the share-ing was flowing.

May 17 2018 15:47
@danamlewis I'm now running my first logs, and it looks like things are looping, I'm getting success messages, but I NS still reports I'm not looping. OpenAPS is unknown and my pump pill is empty (device undefined). https://imgur.com/a/zV9aJmx

May 17 2018 15:48
Check the troubleshooting rig-NS page for things to check - mlab size, etc
There's also an open Pr in the docs about using the mlab API to delete old records, instead of going nuclear and deleting them all, if your mlab is approaching size and causing this problem

@danamlewis looks to me that the last line probably isn't needed--if you confirm I can make the simple PR...here's the relevant text from the docs including the last line.
A few notes to clarify:

enter “http://” NOT “https://
<nightscout_api_secret> is the plain-text API secret used when creating your online Nightscout instance.
<rig_ip_address> is the IP address of your OpenAPS rig assigned by your WiFi, WiFi hotspot, or Bluetooth PAN tether connection. It will usually take the form of: 192.168.xxx.xxx.

is it bestpractice to enter carbs via NS right as you are actually eating--or is it OK to do it a bit in advance as I understand the algorithm waits to see rise in BG...would 20 mins prior be OK?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 17:38
if you pre-enter carbs it will start dosing insulin early. that can be an effective alternative to pre-bolusing.
Jon Cluck
@cluckj
May 17 2018 17:41
will it start decaying COB too?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 17:42
not enough to matter, unless you have significant positive deviations
which generally only occurs if you are rising from non-entered carbs from earlier (in which case you should enter those instead)
Jon Cluck
@cluckj
May 17 2018 17:43
hehe
20 minutes is about 12g of carbs, which is significant for me
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 17:43
how do you figure?
lib/profile/index.js: , min_5m_carbimpact: 8 // mg/dL per 5m (8 mg/dL/5m corresponds to 24g/hr at a CSF of 4 mg/dL/g (x/5*60/4))
Jon Cluck
@cluckj
May 17 2018 17:46
ah, okay
nevermind :)
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 17:47
so if your CSF (ISF/CR ) is 4, 20m would be 8g.

So I tried to add bluetooth to my rig after reflashing, and now I'm out of loop, and getting command not found when I try to do bluetooth d --version
and I'm out of loop again (probably from stopping cron jobs?)
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 17:48
bluetoothd is one word
reboot should normalize the cron jobs, assuming you just stopped the cron service (and didn't add any # in front of things in crontab -e)
Tracey Berg-Fulton
@BergFulton_twitter
May 17 2018 17:51

@scottleibrand I just want to clarify because I'm not familiar with this part of oref0: COB doesn't start getting decayed until there are positive bg deviations?
garykidd
@garykidd
May 17 2018 17:58
I just realized that my google assistant did in fact hear me and enter the requested carbs of 41 to NS....but I didn't think so at first so I repeated myself which resulted in a duplicate carb entry at the exact same time on NS....so I deleted one in treatment in NS reports section under Treatments---it didn't seem to be picked up by oref0 yet in the ns-loop---it should right?

@garykidd almost always used xdrip for offline looping. Admittingly I never used any of the features past AMA on my openaps rig, I meanwhile swapped to AAPS, so I can not really comment on offline looping with OpenAPS using an up to date setup.

May 17 2018 18:37
Hi, So far I know that openAPS can read pump_history, settings, clock, settings, bg_targets and some other stuff. Can anyone tell me the whole list of what openAPS can access in the pump. Does openAPS deal with pump's alarm, such as over-infusino, under-infusion, temperature and if any alarm that can be exposed to openAPS? I appreciate your help.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 17 2018 18:47
@bahmedraaz you might want to look at the openaps toolkit and -h to see what all is built in; and also decocare repo for the original work showing what we know can be pulled from the pump.
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
May 17 2018 18:48
@cluckj COB gets decayed at the min_5m_carbimpact rate, or the rate determined by actual positive deviations if they're higher than that minimum

@thacherT1D NS bridge should be the same, ya. for offline, I think Lookout / xdrip-js works the same for the G5 transmitter regardless of your receiver model.
