common for those of us with multiple rigs where one rig doesn't recognize the last temp set by the other
ah sorry, jet lag brain = thinking of someone else who has one rig only. do you have multiples, or one rig?
Just cleaned up the offline looping page a bit. More PRs welcome, of course! And true of all the doc pages :D . But added linkable headers for those of us answering Qs about different offline setup - so xDrip+, plug CGM into the rig for offline, and xdrip-js are now easier to link to than they were before when pointing people to the docs
(and in case you didn't know - most of the black headers or subheaders are actually links you can share direct to those sections, with the three above as examples, so it's helpful to point people to a specific section when possible vs. having them land on a page with multiple things that may not apply)

for example ^ when you mouse over the header in a web browser, a little link pops up at the end (or below if it wraps); clicking on that generates the direct link to that section for you!
Screen Shot 2018-05-28 at 5.08.38 PM.png
and you can also do the same from the left hand nav, which is what works best for if you're grabbing a link from the web browser on your phone; use left hand nav and click on the + to expand a section; clicking on a subsection provides the URL which you can copy and paste from the browser then.

@danamlewis I do have multiple rigs

@live4sw k. fairly common then when one rig starts reading and picking up from the other.

oh ok, makes sense. I tend to have my rigs fairly spread out in my apartment, so usually don't get that error, but I have noticed that for some reason my connectivity seems to be better with 0.6.1 (perhaps some optimization in fewer steps needed per loop), so maybe more rigs able to reach me at once

So, I updated my openaps rig for the first time in quite a while tonight, and I'm getting all kinds of weird stuff in my pump-loop.log
serial.serialutil.SerialException: Attempting to use a port that is not open
mmtune: Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]...
pump-loop.log: Try 'grep --help' for more information.

Not sure if this is the right room to ask but I have a few questions (1) how do I access the offline webpage that comes with 0.6.1? (2) I tried to schedule Lookout in cron but not sure it’s working correctly. How often should the BG values update? When I run Lookout manually on the rig I get this: root@blue:~# Lookout
events.js:160
throw er; // Unhandled 'error' event
^
Error: listen EADDRINUSE :::3000
at Object.exports._errnoException (util.js:1020:11)

at Module._compile (module.js:577:32)
at Object.Module._extensions..js (module.js:586:10)

It’s been 17 mins since BG updated via Lookout, imagine it should be updating sooner than that?

For the new hat.... can I copy the micro sim content and use it for a another hat? ... I want to have two Openaps working in same location to have full coverage ... or I do need to start over and install ?

I don’t recommend cloning an SD card for use in a second rig, because getting everything changed correctly so they don’t think they’re the same rig is harder than running the install from scratch.

@henghayan it can run on any computer with Linux, but you'll also need a radio stick to read and write to the pump. Might be easier with a $5 raspberry Pi if you don't want to spin up a virtual machine
@Zohmmods still getting those errors or did they clear?

Hello all! I'm having a bit of a hard time with nightscout today. OpenAPS is looping and data appears to be getting from the rig to nightscout but I have the exclamation mark and no prediction lines. It's definitely looping looking at the active log and you can see temp basals / smb activity but other bits are missing. Any hints as ever appreciated.

It looks NS / a reliance related. The NS loop log looks like its successfully sending correct data.. All the info is there not wild strings etc.
I'll nip into NS and see if anything's obvious like a service down etc.

@marafie I’ve sorted it. I had a few future entries in nightscout so removed them. Also binned my device status database entries and it’s back to normal.. Worth a look in Admin tools in your nightscout site.

@marafie Go to your nightscout page, when there, click the 3 lines at the top right to expand the menu. Click Admin Tools then scroll down. You’ll find a few sections there. Specifically, one for entries in the future. There should be a button to delete all future enteries. Click that. Also there’s another button in another section of that same page which deletes all status information. This should leave treatment database enteries alone but delete all I’m online, I’m looping and so on status enteries. I clicked both and it’s back where it should be. You might need to authenticate by going to the bottom of the page and following the link.

Folks, every time you ask a question here without first reading the docs and searching Google, God kills a kitten. Well, maybe not, but it means someone like Dana or Scott has to answer it for the nth time, instead of helping someone with a complex issue or helping make the next release more stable, etc.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
May 29 2018 18:46
heh. save the kittens! Jokes aside, I don't want anyone to feel intimidated from asking a question if they need help. But please know we spend a LOT of time documenting things in the docs (http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html), and if someone posts a link, please do read the link to see if your question is answered there (or a follow up question - highly likely!), and that can also be useful for then posting your next question, e.g. "I checked X page in the docs, but it's missing Y, therefore question." Also if you didn't know, the docs have a great search function, so usually searching for a word or phrase can generate the docs you're looking for, even if you don't know where they are.

basically, just a handful of times where pump-loop pulls the IOB as null, and then a bunch more times where ns-loop was pulling a bunch of ns-loop.log: {"BG":null,"IOB":null,"rate":0,"duration":0,"units":null}

Scott Leibrand

that IOB: null right before Your instance of oref0 [0.6.1, master] is up-to-date. is nothing to worry about: if it fails to refresh data after doing an enact/bolus, it doesn't retry, it just finishes and then checks it again during the next loop

Based on this morning reminding me that I've been meaning to do this :) , just added a documentation section to the "where to go for help" page in the docs, hopefully to better help folks as they get started. But note - I'm hugely biased because I spend my time in the docs constantly, so PRs (edits!) welcome to make this even better! http://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Understanding%20OpenAPS-Overview/communication-support-channels.html#read-the-documentation
