I have installed the openaps in the Pi ,and set Nightscount,so what's next?
use Dexcom G5 ,and 722pump
How the G5 and 722 connect Pi?

@henghayan Can you elaborate a bit? what page of the openaps documentation are you on? what are you trying to do? if it's easier, feel free to reply in your native language and we can translate

I currently want to use PI to build openaps. I have completed the openaps install step and set Nihgscout. I read in document that I can work with the Dexter com G5 and 722 pumps, and I'm ready for that, so what do I do next
Dexcom G5

@henghayan - for starters, make sure your G5 data is flowing to your nightscout site.
the CGM data flows G5 transmitter -> iPhone/Android Phone -> Dexcom Share cloud -> Nightscout -> Pi (assuming your Pi wifi is connected to the internet)
you should be able to see the data flow to your nightscout site through a web browser

@henghayan pls confirm what firmware version your 722 has. As I recall, it should be 2.4A or smaller

@garykidd I intend to use a 18650 with my edison explorer (with this case laready printed : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2798858). I have not charges the battery yet though. I'll report when I'll do the first charge. What mah and max change intensity is your 18650 model ?

Raspberry Pi zero. I could not get the wifi to connect until I added this line into my wpa_supplicant.conf country=US
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
network={
ssid=“MyNetwork”

psk=“MyPW”

@john36m you may also want to add extra network= ... Blocks for you phone hotspot or other WiFi sources. I also had to install the following packages to install oref successfully. ’apt-get install glib2.0 libdbus-1-dev libudev-dev libreadline-dev'
john36m
@john36m
Jun 08 2018 12:18
@lyntonr Already did the extra networks. trying to install 0.7.0-dev now I'll try the other stuff later if/when it fails.
john36m
@john36m
Jun 08 2018 12:29
Explorer hat is running under 0.7.0-dev. As with most things like this, once I made all the mistakes one can possible make, it worked easily. Love the graph. It would be a shame to put it in a case. Using computer power and not a battery. How do I get 0.6.2-dev?
PS Dex G5 and 523 pump
lyntonr
@lyntonr
Jun 08 2018 14:27
0.6.2 has been moved to dev branch now so just check out the dev branch, its in the docs under how to upgrade oref somewhere. You basically pull and install the current dev branch. I don't know if installing over 0.7.0 will be a problem others may suggest a fresh install. But it try and see .

Jun 08 2018 17:21
I installed the pgms you mentioned previously glib2.0 libdbus-1-dev libudev-dev libreadline-dev and then it has gotten further. Now in the middle of the setup script. I did not need those pgms for .0.7.0-dev

Those packages were required for the bluez bluetooth package to install . possibly they are not needed if you don't select the connect to phone by BT option during install.

I smoked my explorer board while charging the attached lipo battery using a charger in my car. Is using car charger bad idea? Any other charging limitations I should be aware of?
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
Jun 08 2018 18:10
@richardshane I don’t know of a reason why that should have happened...
@john36m curious - why would it be a shame to put it in a case? (case could still show off beautiful display) ...
john36m
@john36m
Jun 08 2018 18:29
@mhaeberli If you can show me a good case that does this, I would be happy to change my mind!
Using Explore Hat and Pi Zero. Running dev which is 0.6.2-dev and it seems to be looping OK, but I am seeing nothing on the display other than its boot up graphics During the install, it never asked me if I wanted to download or build the HAT stuff. I there a non painful fix for this or do I need to start over?

NSewar
@nsewar01
Jun 08 2018 18:47
What does the on off switch do on the Hat? How do I get back to the welcome screen from the illegible menu page without rebooting?
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
Jun 08 2018 18:48
screen shows symbols and letters. in my experience, some of the displays show failures out of the box that hurt the resolution. you can safely reboot via ssh. look closely at the unicorn shown just after reboot finishes; on the broken displays I have seen, the E in explorer is missing the middle cross bar.
in theory, double tapping the ‘top’ button takes you out a level in the menu system. the reason i say ‘in theory’ is that, speaking for myself, i’m not yet fully comfortable navigating the menus
@john36m i may have a candidate case after the weekend… still iterating
(designed by our older daughter, an ME undergrad)

Thanks Martin, how do I reboot via ssh?
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
Jun 08 2018 18:52
log in to the device through ssh; then reboot now (or sudo reboot now if not logged in as root)
NSewar
@nsewar01
Jun 08 2018 18:52
thanks
@mhaeberli you are correct the crossbar on the E is missing....I guess that means I got a dud! Is this defect known to the manufacturer?
Martin Haeberli
@mhaeberli
Jun 08 2018 19:23
I don’t know. in your case, I suspect you bought your explorer hat through enhanced radio devices, so I would ask them for help.
more generally, out of sample of 5 explorer hats I received at the same time, 1 had this problem out of the box, 1 failed in this way after a few days of carrying the gadget around (in this instance, without a proper case), and a third failed after been dropped about 3 feet by accident :-(
It sounds like others have seen this problem too.

@mhaeberli
Jun 08 2018 21:07
not sure how to answer ‘how long’ - I am easily distracted by first few lines of ‘l’ output which may reflect from before even my last reboot. Usually things stabilize within maybe 10 minutes but I often give it 1/2 hour or so

@garykidd are you using this against a live pump, or a test pump? if the latter, do a bolus or temp basal on the test pump - there is an issue if there are no events more recent than the last 24 hours. with a live pump, you lkely would have a bolus or temp basal in the last 24 hours, so this is not an issue.

just wondering does it maybe make sense to have autotune results stored on mlab (rather than just locally on each rig) or something that you could enable syncing between rigs easily? or is this already done?

I just received some errors while eting the cron job as usual. But I am not good at analyzing that kind of scripts.
Yes Dana I agree it can be possible that I was the only one around the world but nevertheless it worked. So possibly it's enough to see why this error "const Hoeck = require Hoeck..." Occured and then it works again.i know I know...someone has to have time to debug it...
But be aware, I cannot test it anymore because my Dana RS arrived last Friday.
