@robpneu ubilinux or jubilinux? Need the latter for an OpenAPS rig

@danamlewis Sorry, Jubilinux. I'm working on an Edison openAPS rig as well. I was researching ubilinux (Jubilinx parent by my understanding) to figure out what was going on.

Trying to load 0.7.0-dev tonight - got install errors (node-modules related?) looking for combined-stream -- causes lodash module to not be found later...

Question please: updated the BT mac via the runagain script, which also prompted an update of oref0 as we were several commits behind. Since the change, no longer seeing any SMB activity. in preferences, enableSMB with bolus, with cob, after carbs all true, with temptarget false. Anything I'm missing here?

@scottleibrand

“With bolus” no longer does anything.
Have you done carbs in the last 6h? What does pump-loop.log say?

It shouldn’t get deleted.
Did you do so manually?

The original autotune manually you mean? Good question... it's possible I may have done so.

in meantime, question please: log is advising a maxbasal limit of 1.6. daily safety is 7, current basal safety is 10. For the highest programmed basal it's 0.7, and for current basal rate it's 0.4. If this is the case, then I would think we have more than enough room.
aps is trying to combat the skyrocket but keeps getting limited
Is a reboot needed once preferences.json is edited?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 28 2018 04:56 UTC
No need to reboot.
Max basal of 1.6 would be 4 * 0.4: are you sure you changed the safety limits in the right file?
Also, once you mkdir autotune it should start allowing SMBs even before its first run.
Deweyoxberg
@Deweyoxberg

We changed the safety limits in preferences.json (shortcut : edit-pref)

It sometimes takes a few minutes between profile.json refreshes.
mkdir autotune should take effect immediately on next loop though.

fixed it finally
combination of maxiob being a decimal during initial setup and wrong pump type during initial setup. Tired coding for the lose.

I just started my rig a week ago (Intel Edison MDT 754 / Enlite) and it has connection with my pump (very good results by the way), but I lost Internet connection 2 days ago. And resetting, using other WiFi connections have not helped.

I don't know wether to post here on on XDRIP+ ... so I post in both ... I am trying to get my heroku nightscout bg value into xdrip+ on my phone. I set up API rest but I only get the treatments (bolus) but no BG. In the status, my server is well recognized (nightscout 0.9.2) but nightscout rest : 0 treatment and watch wear API : 28 treatments.
I have disabled the source of bg since I do not use my bridge anymore but get the bg from nightscout.
Is there something obviously wrong that I an doing which prevents me from getting my bg ?
I also tried nightscout mobile (android) without success.

@JohnDoeAkira I am either braver or more foolish than you and left mine on overnight. Mind you I was glued to the pump log on a tablet next to the bed. All was good , it even averted a possible hypo by setting temp basals of zero. I think that as long has you have a conservative max_iob say. 3 or so you can't go far wrong . I'm yet to enable smb but may do so in a day or two. Sugars have been great all last night and today, almost entirely in range. In fact only a few bumps when rig was out of range for a period. So far openaps is all I had hoped it was be and then some :). Battery life of rig pi zero w and explorer hat seems not so great though, gonna try a 3 pack of 18650 tonight that should provide a whopping 66000 mah. Does anyone know how to shut the screen off ? That would hopefully improve things.
I mean 6600 may

@JohnDoeAkira
Jun 28 2018 09:54 UTC
@lyntonr Wow, That's gonna be a hell of a thick pack. I use an edison with this 3d printed enclosure (single 18650). I have only 2500mAh, this is clearly on the low side. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2798858

@lyntonr To turn the screen off @cluckj wrote some code but accourding to measruements of @mhaeberli it's just drawing 10mA. SOme have good results with underclocking to 500 MHz. Here are some more tweaks: https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blogs/jeff-geerling/raspberry-pi-zero-conserve-energy

I just ran setup on my PI-HAT it seems to installed oref0 version 0.6.0. were can i update to 0.7.0 ? Is it in the docs were you update the dev branch? i heard it installs the current version of node which i need to instal Lookout on it.

Thanks @juehv some interesting tips in there would be interesting to see some measurements using ram disk instead of SD card , I'm thinking that that hat radio is probably where a lot of the power is consumed though. I had a 2500 lipo on today it had been on charge overnight (through the hat) and I only got about 2 - 3 hours out of it. Admitably its an older battery though 3y or so but it hasn't had much use .
Jens Heuschkel
@juehv
Jun 28 2018 11:13 UTC
hm yes the radio consumes a lot of power. Accourding to the data sheet it's up to 50mA but I don't know in detail how sleep modes are used ...
However, I can run my rig for around 4 to 5 hours with a 2Ah lipo battery. Hopefully we will push that to 8 hours, since the battery size is already pretty big but I want to survive a working day.
lyntonr
@lyntonr
Jun 28 2018 11:56 UTC
Yeah. I hope so too, there is already enough stuff to carry around. Still, I have it all in a money belt round my gut now, so the bigger battery won't matter too much, just adds to my apparent gut size a bit

@peterfulvi you should get 0.6.2 for a fresh master install. 0.7.0-dev is a feature branch

@cluckj for your pibakery reboot/shutdown test were you on windows or Mac and did you add all the same boxes as in the pi setup doc?. In particular the ssh over USB serial one. Trying to do another install here ,. Having lots of issues trying to write over previous pi cards. Windows gets very confused with cards that have multiple partitions with different file systems, I'm wondering if that could have caused an issue. I think I read in this forum a while back someone else had this issue with reboot hanging, can you recall if there was a solution or workaround ?

Confirming offline looping note in the docs. Says that direct connection to G5 transmitter will offline loop only when BG is below 150. Is this correct? Reason for not being able to loop at higher BG?

cross-posting my message from omniaps channel as here the audience is wider and maybe I can receive more replies: "...regarding choice between rtlsdr (rtl2832u) and cc1110, maybe we should also consider power consumption difference as openaps device will not be used in combination with native pump it is important to reduce power consumption as much as possible. I can see a lot of discussions on intend-to-bolus on the topic of autonomy... so I think we should consider checking power consumption of rtlsdr vs cc1110. I have no idea how to calculate, but maybe someone can help"

Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 28 2018 19:59 UTC
@mkericson I think the docs (or you) are confusing two different things. the 150 cutoff is solely for looping on raw BG values when the Dexcom is in sensor warmup or ???. using the G5 without Internet is a different thing. want to PR in a clarification on that?
mkericson
@mkericson
Jun 28 2018 20:05 UTC
@scottleibrand Understand now as it references RAW BG from a G4 receiver. Can you still get a G4 receiver with the latest being the G5 and now G6?
Scott Leibrand
@scottleibrand
Jun 28 2018 20:14 UTC
no, but I think you can get raw readings from the G5 transmitter with the right opcode. not sure if that's implemented.
