hello everyone, quick question, does anyone know if the docs to complete the bluetooth tethering are up to date? I get the feeling they are not (or I'm really dense) but everytime I try I get as far as
sudo hciconfig hci0 name $HOSTNAME , I get the can't change local name... I launch bluetoothctl and then the rig hangs

for context running this on a PI zero with hat... thanks!

ok no, I get this when I run the sudo hciconfig hci0 name $HOSTNAME

root@panfila:~# sudo /usr/local/bin/bluetoothd --experimental &
[1] 1536
root@panfila:~# sudo: /usr/local/bin/bluetoothd: command not found

I guess that is why it hangs on the bluetoothctlany ideas what I'm doing wrong?

yep, it never does anything when I run bluetoothctl
it only types out waiting to connect to bluetoothd and stays there forever

You could double check the mac address you're tethering to. If that's already ok, you might try reinstalling the bluez bluetooth package.

I checked the mac address, no issues there.. how do I install the bluez bluetooth package?

The bluez version installed is the 5.43 (ran the bluetoothd --version) command, but how do I reinstall it? sudo ap get bluetoothd?

you don't need any self-compiled /usr/local versions of bluetooth on the Pi -- the system version works fine. apt-get install --reinstall bluez will reinstall it, but won't remove conflicting versions installed in /usr/local -- you'll have to do that yourself

Different question, is it possible to have both the xDrip+ and the Dexcom app showing glucose readings. If you could have the Dexcom app as a source for Xdrip+

@ecc1 and how do I go about uninstalling the older version, if that is what is blocking? I'm sorry for all the questions but my knowledge of this is pretty limited
thanks for the help
