Just reflashed my edison and Im getting this error now: Radio check failed. ImportError: No module named spi_serial
I've re-ran setup thinking something just goofed the first time but Im unsure what to do now. Im on 0.7dev

after multiple reboots
/dev/spidev5.1 shows if I ls that directory
so it sees the device (it would seem)

spi_serial isn't used in dev, maybe the install didn't go right?

I can go doublecheck Im still on dev
Yep. Im on the dev branch

did you npm run global-install and re-run oref0-setup after switching to dev?
if you're not sure, I'd try those two steps again
Cameron Chunn

I never even went into master
swapped to dev before even running oref0-setup the first time
Jon Cluck

Mar 10 2019 04:28 UTC
did it ask about Go binaries the first time?
Cameron Chunn
@applehat
Mar 10 2019 04:28 UTC
Yeah.
This time running oref0-setup (the third time?) it just fast-forwarded and got some updates.
Im rerunning again now (and letting it compile the go binaries because why not)
Ill post back if still broken

My Pi HAT and Pi0W shipped today
Slite sidebar while MRAA is building...
What kind of battery life are you getting from the Pi0W?
a 2500mAh on my edison lasts me basically my entire waking day.
I ordered 2x 2500mAh packs to run in parallel on the Pi, expecting that it wont last nearly as long

I think there's a tool you can use to check the connection (similar to get_subg_rfspy_version.py), since you installed from source
go into ~/go/src/github.com/ecc1/cc111x/cmd/probe and run go build
that'll give you a binary called probe, which you should run

@straykatz there is info on why COB is zero a little further back in the pump-loop.log.
There are various error conditions that can cause that: we default to zero if there’s any anomaly, to avoid dosing off an erroneously high COB value.

Hi, I'm not sure if Autotune is working correctly on my rig, I decided to run Autotune on the past 10 days, but oref0 doesn't use autotune's values, even though there were some major differences
I thought it was supposed to use those values automatically?
I checked the logfile of autotune, and I did see a warning: /usr/local/bin/oref0-autotune-recommends-report: line 25: warning: setlocale: LC_NUMERIC: cannot change locale (en_US.UTF-8): No such file or directory
Does that matter? Or is there a setting I need to change?
I checked my preferences.json, and autotune is enabled: "enable": " autotune ",

@cluckj The system was online, last night. Everything seems to be fine. Yesterday, i sent my sister a screenshot from the OLED. I asked my sister ,if the units are right for her. She said, that could be, that the BG on the OLED are in mml, not in mg/dl. Can i change this in some file ?

Thanks a lot..!!

Hi, I’m trying to put together hw for a new rig. Got the explorer block then an intel Edison from ebay…
I am stuck at flashing the Edison, cannot connect to the serial port:
  • I installed the driver for Win from the openaps link; tried win 7 & 10
  • When I plug the OTG, I first get Other: MERRIFIELD device, then I see Intel Edison USB Composite device on COM4 and Intel Edison Virtual Com Port COM5
  • For com4, putty connection fails with “unable to connect to serial port com4”
  • Putty “connects” to COM5, but I never get a prompt.
Could it be a defective Edison? Any suggestion on what else I can try?
    Thank you!
one more thing: when I plug in the UART, the driver sw install fails for Fx230x Basic UART; does this matter?

If you don’t get a prompt, stay connected and reboot the rig by holding down the black button. When the center light comes back on you should see it boot. If you’re running the flashall at that point, it should try to flash.

Hi, after months of using BT tethering, it just stopped working (using iphone on Verizon). Phone and rig can still pair over bluetooth, but no looping. I tried deleting the BT MAC address in the bluetoothctl command and deleting the rig from the phone, then re-paired the two and still nothing. When I try to run the "ifconfig bnep0" command from the bluetooth setup instructions, I get the following output with no IP address listed. Any ideas?

@tzachi-dar something like this will let you play with various larger antennas that usually have SMA connectors: https://www.adafruit.com/product/851
And another question. I understand that the current antenna we use is https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/anaren/66089-0930/1173-1135-ND/3903377
This one has a gain of 3dbi while what I found has 1.2 dbi, and I wonder if the 3dbi should be better or not?
