Scorponok
@Scorponok
@ceben80 Thanks for posting that, I didn't screw mine in because I wasn't 100% sure of which screws to use
jmcrawford
@jmcrawford
@jburke41 Probaby means you're logged in as the Pi user, in which case you'd want to use sudo to edit the file.
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
@hilarykoch that's not an explorer board. You must have bought a different kind of breakout board
That will work for looping, but you'll also need to add a TI stick to it. Or get an explorer board (radio stick built in).
Matthias
@ceben80
@jburke41 /etc/network/interfacesmust be always accessed with root rights!
hilarykoch
@hilarykoch
@danamlewis I think I just figured it out! Goodness, it’s going to be a long day. OK, it came with the Edison I think and I just kept everything together. Hang on..
jburke41
@jburke41
@ceben80 so instead of vi /etc/network/interfaces, I use sudo /etc/network/interfaces?

@danamlewis This is it, right?!
Scorponok
@Scorponok
@hilarykoch I think you have the intel somethingorother board in your initial picture, you can buy it with the edison on amazon
That picture you just posted looks like the explorer board
For that you'd want the sparkfun screws that Mathias linked above
Dana Lewis
@danamlewis
@hilarykoch yeaaaa now we're talking
Phew!!!!
Matthias
@ceben80
@jburke41 see again my post
https://gitter.im/nightscout/intend-to-bolus?at=58935637e836bf7010c1ea90
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces not sudo /etc/network/interfaces!
hilarykoch
@hilarykoch
Ok, Phew is right. OK. So back to needing nuts and bolts. But that can wait. Ok, digging into the setup. Thanks!
Scorponok
@Scorponok
Just snapping it in seems reasonably secure to me, I'd still screw it in before taking it anywhere though

Seeking some guidance.... I finally have BLE working with my Edison and Android, AND offline with xDrip+ is also working. I can see from my pump, and from tailing the log that it's working. :) BUT... for some reason, data is not being uploaded to my NS site. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?
blob
The OpenAPS Pill Status is being updates :)
Just no CGM data...
Matthias
@ceben80
@apabari for uploading BGs from xDrip+ to your loop I think you've setup the API in the App itself as mentioned here https://github.com/colinlennon/xDripAPS#configuring-the-xdrip-android-app
but for uploading to ns as well you'll need to configure mongodb uploadin xdrip+
@ceben80 I am entering this in the edison window---should i be doing this in the flash window?
Matthias
@ceben80
@jburke41 sudois missing, log in as rootand install it with apt-get install sudo
jburke41
@jburke41
@ceben80 do you know how I log out?
@ceben80 Thanks for all of your help!
Matthias
@ceben80
just logoff in your serial console window
apabari
@apabari
@ceben80 Oh, okay, thank you! I didn't realize that. Will add that information in right now
Matthias
@ceben80
but I see you are login as root
you don't need sudo with root login credentials
jburke41
@jburke41
@ceben80 I am confused---either way it tells me not found
Matthias
@ceben80
weird
root@eddie:/home/edison# apt-get install sudo
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
sudo is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
but your edison is flashed with jubilinux?
jburke41
@jburke41
yup
SHould I try to re-do it? Will that harm it?
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
That screenshot shows a Yocto install, not jubilinux
that's the thing @cjo20 :wink:
jburke41
@jburke41
I used the ones on openapps
Will try again!! Thanks for all of the help!
Chris Oattes
@cjo20
also, if you're using gitter on the same computer you're running those commands on, you can either copy and paste the text in here, or use "snipping tool" and paste the image straight in to this window
Matthias
@ceben80
yes this will be more helpful for debugging :+1:
jburke41
@jburke41
Great!!!
jburke41
@jburke41
Is is necessary to downloand ubilinux?
