any suggestions on a good chart (swift) for plotting out bgs?

@bewest

why not embed browser with NS?
that's what android uploader does
Pete

May 21 2015 01:21
I could do that, but figured since I've got the data on disk now, I could draw it locally using coregraphics.
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:21
no, with the uploader it's drawn locally
the webview is just static css, js, html bundled with the app and shown locally
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:21
can it just be the graph part?
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:21
yeah, it's just the graph part
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:22
hmmm
is there an example out there?
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:23
i'll take a peak.
that's got a swift example loading local html

I did a quick proof of concept by trying to squeeze the existing ns site into a web view the size of the watch face and sending a picture over... the site did not resize well
at lest that small
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:25
hehehe
clock mode
/clock.html
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:25
but seeing the d3 stuff pulled out would help
yeah. saw that
text doesn't resize
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:26
yeah
need a couple different viewers for fun, portability
should come up with a gallery app so people can play around with lots of different ones
Pete

May 21 2015 01:26
also not raw or delta on that
Screenshot_5_20_15__9_27_PM.png
this is a UI I'm currently noodling on
thought it might transfer well to the watch
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:27
what's the arrow knobby thing?
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:28
flat....
it moves with the direction of the BG
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:28
so it's always somewhere to the right?
Pete

Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:28
dunno how I feel about the whole green is good red is bad thing
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:28
for exmaple
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:28
the double thick is interesting though
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:29
that last one was from a test I ran...
want to see more variations?
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:30
I feel like there's enough judgement that doesn't notice all the nuance of why things happen that having computer do constant red bad/green good would get tiresome
yeah
curious what you think of incorporating something like this var countdown = $("#countdown").countdown360({
oops
where the "time ago" is opposite to "expected next update"
that would be cool, be able to glance and tell when is next update? and how bad is the staleness?
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:31
my concern is that it might add too many moving parts.
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:31
yeah, fair
you have a big cirlce there already
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:32
I wanted to make the bg and the direction very clear
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:32
hmm
the direction is dexcom's trend?
I don't particiularly favor dexcom's trend
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:32
yes.
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:32
I go exclusively by the delta
find the trend useless
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:32
well its what ever the SGV is telling me from the api
direction
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:33
so for me knowing how stale it is, when the next update will come is more important than trend
oh, it's not dexcom's trend?
ok, so last one is double circle/double arrow meaning double up, yeah?
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:34
yup
I'm doing a GET on the pebble endpoint
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:34
@ktind had a very similar design
he made the arrow a bit bigger
coming out of the circle
Pete
@someoneAnyone
May 21 2015 01:38
interesting.
it wouldn't be hard for me to adjust
Ben West
@bewest
May 21 2015 01:39
is there a way to "ack" it so the red/green goes away for awhile?
thing is, if bg is 400, you will continue to be red/high for awhile
hours, potentially
Pete

May 21 2015 01:43
all possible. just trying to get it up and running
mimicking what i can from the web
i do have it dimming the UI after the last update reaches a threshold. I'm trying to wire up a get for server settings so I know what timeout to look for
