@rosskukulinski

Is there anything team evangelism can do for you?
Ian Crowther
@iancrowther
Not really buddy
In fact yes!!!
I need the lowdown on node interactive
am considering coming
But is a long was if its not the right audience for my biz
Ross Kukulinski
@rosskukulinski
ah, unfortunately I can't help with that... I'm moving Dec 20, so a bit distracted
Ian Crowther
@iancrowther
Got it
Ross Kukulinski
@rosskukulinski
Skimming the schedule, it looks pretty decent in terms of talks
definitely a few winners that have made the circuit in SF node nights
Ian Crowther
@iancrowther
How many people from Europe?
Is it Dev or enterprise?
Ross Kukulinski
@rosskukulinski
not sure, hard to tell
look slike a mix
keynotes all look to be enterprise
Ian Crowther
@iancrowther
How many tickets sold?
That kind of thing
Ross Kukulinski
@rosskukulinski
I don't know -- you'd need to probably ping mikeal for that
@iancrowther have you listed to: http://nodeup.com/ninetyfour

Hey! I'm new here. Started Nodejs a month ago and started falling in love with it. I'm currently an Computer Science student in 3rd year in India and I want to contribute in evangelism.

Great news! Welcome @amand1996

@amand1996
from where can i start?
Andrew Stoker
@AStoker

Write all your computer programs with node, and then convince your professor why writing with node is superior to the java server he assigned ;) And then pray he doesn't give you an F!
Part of the evangelism is simply just doing stuff with the language in projects, and talking to people about the benefits of it. In the academic world, you're in a prime location to do this! I've noticed that a lot of schools are not quite on the edge of technology (it's really quite hard for a school to do that, so don't bash them too hard), and it takes students making presentations and giving talking points about the advantages of a language to make things move. Try talking to your professor or academic advisor about adding courses with Node. Many professors are willing to help students learn something new (it is why they teach, isn't it?), but sometimes it takes a push, and sometimes many pushes :)

Learn all that you can, and then maybe offer to lead a class/seminar about how to accomplish something with Node. Talk to the CS Department Head and see if you can't get an event started about using Node. A good idea would be a coding challenge event (offer pizza, it's a sure fire way to get attendance) with using specific tools (such as Node). If your school has a local ACM chapter, see if they'd be willing to sponsor it.

Those are just a few ideas to get started @amand1996

@AStoker Thanks! I'm already leading the programming club at my college. Will organise some seminars on Node. ;)
