Will there be a meetup planned for November? I have an Idea for meetup topic. express middleware, we can talk about types of middle wear, (ie. security, authentication, sessions, parsers) what the commonly used middlewares are, and maybe some time to implement a few middlewares into an express server. Would be a nice topic for new people like me since there's so many packages and most people want some form of login and authentication when building their first app.
especially authentication since that's an easy way to restrict certain routes until a user has logged in and have been given some kind of permission/token/session information.

Thanks for the suggestion @Kalevera , we generally use the nodeschool content and unfortunately, the current express.js tutorial doesn't get into authentication. Perhaps, we could cover the express module and open up the discussion or someone could volunteer to do a supplemental 10 minute presentation on it.

ah i see what you did there ;) well there's some good tutorials out on route authentication and I'd offer to provide a supplement but i don't understand the process well enough. mainly with how the deceleration inside the authentication route passes it's functionality to the rest of the routes declared in the that router. These are the tutorial i was thinking of btw. https://scotch.io/tutorials/authenticate-a-node-js-api-with-json-web-tokens and https://scotch.io/quick-tips/route-middleware-to-check-if-a-user-is-authenticated-in-node-js

@stefanmve I could try and replicate these ideas in a stand alone project for presentation purposes. Would yall be willing to meet or review the code and add information to give it some useful insight on why the middle ware can restrict the rest of the routes based on where they are located in the router and their relationship to the express app? maybe some other insightful things too.

We could have some mentors look at it, the November meetup is the 3rd, do you think that is enough time or would December be more realistic?
Have you tried the nodeschool expressworks tutorial? It does cover some routes and middleware? Would you like to demo a couple of exercises from the nodeschool module too?
