    @Edzilla2000
    But I followed the basic documentation and I still get that error

    So it's a brand new rudder install on a brand new ubuntu 18.04 install
    Vincent Membré
    @VinceMacBuche
    can you access rudder server UI ? what is the output of 'service rudder-jetty status' ?
    errors you have are normal, it's other services that have errors until rudder server is correctly up
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000

    Vincent Membré
    @VinceMacBuche
    they are not related to jetty
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    "rudder is currently loading"
    Vincent Membré
    @VinceMacBuche
    so you have errors in /var/log/rudder/webapp/2019_10_22.stderrout.log ?
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    ok, so it fails at setting the password
    as it is the agent who set passwords for all services

    @ncharles
    is it Rudder 5.0.14 or the nightly ?
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    5.0.14-ubuntu18.04
    Alexis Mousset
    @amousset
    You can try to edit /var/rudder/cfengine-community/inputs/promises.cf and remove server-roles/1.0/postgres-check.cf from the "inputs_list" list.
    then rudder agent run should work (and fix your webapp)
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    indeed
    Alexis Mousset
    @amousset
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    perfect, thanks!
    Alexis Mousset
    @amousset
    Is the webapp working now?
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    yep
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    Is it possible to download older versions of rudder packages?
    Alexis Mousset
    @amousset
    Sure, you have access to all packages with https://repository.rudder.io/apt/ and https://repository.rudder.io/rpm/
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    thanks
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    @Edzilla2000 I failed to reproduce your issue, i installed rudder server 5.0.14-ubuntu18 on a new ubuntu18, and it correctly started. I had one webapp start with the password error, but that right after the rudder-init, when password are still not propagated everywhere
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    I installed Rudder using https://docs.rudder.io/reference/5.0/installation/server/debian.html (not the curl | bash part), ran rudder-init, ran rudder-agent, everything went fine
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    I think I installed it with the curl|bash script, but I can't be sure
    I have another issue, on the production server I have a lot of machines with grey status bar (no report)
    If I manually run rudder-agent, they show up in the reports, but after a reboot they go back to grey
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    If I check on a server that's malfunctionning, here is what the rudder services look like
    image.png
    thing is, we didn't disable any services
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    could it be that you had broken policies at some point that disabled the agent ? or some any other errors ?
    if you run rudder agent enable, does that fix this issue ?
    Edzilla2000
    @Edzilla2000
    @ncharles no, it doesn't
    I have manually enabled the services, I'll see if it holds
    pablo-qb
    @pablo-qb
    I got this error in two of my nodes (one of them is the root server)
    image.png
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    Most likely that this node is not in the authorized network of its server ?
    pablo-qb
    @pablo-qb
    There are other nodes on that subnet that can send their inventories
    Nicolas Charles
    @ncharles
    can it resolve the server ?
    ha wait, the error is on 127.0.0.1
    can you check for errors in /var/log/rudder/apache2/error.log ?
    pablo-qb
    @pablo-qb
    update: all my nodes are fcked up hehe
    I have rudder behind nginx reverse proxy
    allowed network is 10.1.0.0/16
    But nodes have /24 IPs
    It shouldn't be the problem
