    for example 14.04 --> Qt 5.2.1 || 16.04 --> 5.5.1
    this way the user won't need to look for outside repositories

    Btw, are we loosing features by using older versions of Qt?
    Yeah.
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    well there are some, that make things easier, like for example network referencing --> update
    for update we got the link from updates.json then we check if it is a reference to another link and then we download the installer with the referenced one.
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    But will our features work as expected? e.g. Automatic updates, multi-threading, etc...
    Yes, I should update that, right after uploading the installers
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    the new approach just tell the network to follow the link
    and as result we get directly the installer
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    will it work for 14.04?
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    all the feature you mentioned works
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    oh ok great
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Ok, so I'm getting the installer for each Ubuntu version from the corresponding name, right? So for 14.04 I take the one from trusty, for 17.04 I take from zesty, and so on... Right?
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    yep

    What about Ubuntu software center, we still don't have any control there until we get our responses from @dplanella?
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    How does the Ubuntu download page look?

    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    @theshadowx I can't seem to find the download for the installer of 16.10 yakkety
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    it looks nice
    just there is a small mistake it's 17.04
    it's my mistake, in the condition it should be yakkety not yakketi
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    I'll fix it and redo the merging
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist

    I think now it's good. Could you please remove the previous installer you downloaded/uploaded and replace them with the ones included here https://travis-ci.org/nuttyartist/notes/builds/265315114
    so that the installers would be sync with the repo
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Oh ok sure
    I need to go to bed soon, I think we might finally release 1.0.0 tomorrow.

    What's up ?

    @nuttyartist
    I didn't have time yesterday, eventually, like I though I will have. I will have time on Saturday but Fri, Sat and Sun are the lowest time of traffic on our site. So I think we will release it on Monday.
    Btw, we have a lot of traffic but we not retain them very well.

    You may have seen that I'm looking to add someone that knows to analyze Google Analytics data to help us in that regard. I already made more improvement ot the site that might help in people going to click the download button more often (like putting right in the home screen), and making loading time a bit better (hopefully).

    @theshadowx
    good strategy about release date :+1:

    I think it's because there is no article or content that would keep the visitors more in the website, I think it would be preferable to add a forum (disqus), so people can come and talk about there issue and what they would like as features in the next versions ... theren also we can do polls.
    there is also the idea to add a feature voting system. each person can propose a feature and the others may vote on it like --> https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public

    I just just kept thinking about the suited time to release the new version, and I think it would better to release it the sooner as at least the people that visit the the website on the weekend will have the opportunity to get the latest version which has update feature, where if they get the version 0.9.0 they won't be able the get the news about the new version
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    @theshadowx I though about that too, but I think it's worth to wait for a time where most of the traffic happens, because that's also when most of the blogs and people would talk about it. If we loose that window we may eventually loose much more people than we intended to save.

    The idea of a forum is interesting. We sure have our Github for suggestions and issues, but most people don't use it or know how to use it. And it's also always good to hear what people want, whether from emails, polls or posts; albeit most of the time people won't know they want something until you show it to them. And that's mostly our place to think about new ways to make Notes better and improve it. Not degrading at all from the power of our users to tell us what they want, but it's imprtant to not be take every suggestion (even with majority) to be a final decision. We should everything under own ideas and values and choose the ones that fit the most with our vision.

    I think Wix has some built-in forum capabilities, I should check out on that sometime.
