    What's up ?

    @nuttyartist
    I didn't have time yesterday, eventually, like I though I will have. I will have time on Saturday but Fri, Sat and Sun are the lowest time of traffic on our site. So I think we will release it on Monday.
    Btw, we have a lot of traffic but we not retain them very well.

    You may have seen that I'm looking to add someone that knows to analyze Google Analytics data to help us in that regard. I already made more improvement ot the site that might help in people going to click the download button more often (like putting right in the home screen), and making loading time a bit better (hopefully).

    @theshadowx
    good strategy about release date :+1:
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    I think it's because there is no article or content that would keep the visitors more in the website, I think it would be preferable to add a forum (disqus), so people can come and talk about there issue and what they would like as features in the next versions ... theren also we can do polls.
    there is also the idea to add a feature voting system. each person can propose a feature and the others may vote on it like --> https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public

    I just just kept thinking about the suited time to release the new version, and I think it would better to release it the sooner as at least the people that visit the the website on the weekend will have the opportunity to get the latest version which has update feature, where if they get the version 0.9.0 they won't be able the get the news about the new version
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    @theshadowx I though about that too, but I think it's worth to wait for a time where most of the traffic happens, because that's also when most of the blogs and people would talk about it. If we loose that window we may eventually loose much more people than we intended to save.

    The idea of a forum is interesting. We sure have our Github for suggestions and issues, but most people don't use it or know how to use it. And it's also always good to hear what people want, whether from emails, polls or posts; albeit most of the time people won't know they want something until you show it to them. And that's mostly our place to think about new ways to make Notes better and improve it. Not degrading at all from the power of our users to tell us what they want, but it's imprtant to not be take every suggestion (even with majority) to be a final decision. We should everything under own ideas and values and choose the ones that fit the most with our vision.

    I think Wix has some built-in forum capabilities, I should check out on that sometime.

    Something, sort-of like that would be good, I think. http://help.shinyfrog.net/discussions/bear

    I don't say to take all suggestions but sometimes, the good suggestion vote will give a hint to what priority to give to each feature
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    That's true, it will give us another important perspective to consider.

    I can fire up a really great forum for our site in a coupe of minutes, but it seems like peope must login, which is a bit of bummer isn't it?
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    ya but I think it's necessary otherwise how can be notified when there is a response
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    mmm that's true. Still I would prefer there be an option to post without signing up. I will dig deeper sometime to see what can be done.

    Hi guys. I looked back to the notes AUR, it seems like it got updated to v1, nice! However currently the md5sums-checksum fails. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/notes/
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    hi @konstantingoretzki , I think the package was created and modifications were done on the source code just after that having the same version. Our Mistake :( . @nuttyartist could you please contact @gkbrk to regenerate the ArchLinux package for the version 1.0.0
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Sure. What's the problem @theshadowx?
    I asked him to do so.
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx

    the issue is that when the new release 1.0.0 was added to the release section in github, @gkbrk create a package for ArchLinux for 1.0.0 and uploaded it to the repository https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/notes/. but just after that, I have made some changes in the code source and then I removed the version release 1.0.0 you have added and made a new one having the same version. That's why md5sums-checksum reports that there is an error as the code source have been modified.

    the md5sums that was provided to Arch repo is : 63e42d1b8337c2c3f3d4a53754938b3b
    but to be sure that there was no corruption in the package, the package manager check against source=($pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz::"https://github.com/nuttyartist/notes/archive/v$pkgver.tar.gz")

    So when the release 1.0.0 was changed the two md5sums are not equal anymore --> error.

    so to handle this issue, @gkbrk should provide a new md5sums and regenerate a new package based on the new release 1.0.0 present in the release section in github.

    @theshadowx
    @nuttyartist @konstantingoretzki I think the issue is fixed. @konstantingoretzki could you please check if everything works well now ?
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Ah ok, seems like he fixed that now.
    Konstantin Goretzki
    @konstantingoretzki
    @theshadowx Works! Thanks a lot ;)

    @theshadowx
    great

    Let's put Notes on many other people's computers.
    I should take the installer from here, right? @theshadowx
    https://travis-ci.org/nuttyartist/notes/builds/265315114
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    @theshadowx I'm waiting for your approval that this is the right place to take the installers from.
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    yes
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Cool
    wait, what package should I put here for linux?
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    hmm big problem
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    Yes... I though we may resort to 16.04 and write on the website that only this version would get automatic updates...
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    I think trusty as I think the dependencies will be satisfied
    Ruby Mamistvalove
    @nuttyartist
    But the trusty package has problems with Unity (nad maybe others) and that's where most of the people
    If someone from 16.04
    will be running our trusty package
    what will happen?
    Ali Diouri
    @theshadowx
    he/she will need to install qt5.5.1 packages
