Miguel Laginha
@brecke
so that's working.
now, on to nodemon
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
yep. without or without setting oauth keys
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
my version is 1.17.3
what's yours?
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
1.17.3
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
right
so the behaviour should be the same
just to be sure
you have a nodemon.json file inside Hilary folder, right?
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
yeap
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
ok, and if you run nodemon app.js | bunyan
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
time stamped at git pull time, so I've no make changes to that file
That is the command I've been using
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
ok
so it boots okay, apparently
but then it restarts, is that it?
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
No. It exits with the last message, normally, being:
{"name":"oae-util-shutdown","hostname":"Hilary","pid":10696,"level":30,"msg":"Exiting.","time":"2018-07-17T18:12:04.636Z","v":0}
And there is always an watch failure message, such as
[nodemon] Internal watch failed: watch /home/zhiming/Projects/OAE/Local/Hilary/3akai-ux/node_modules/oae-admin/skinning/css ENOSPC
[nodemon] exiting
and every time different watch file is reported
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
well
it's definitely nodemon not liking you or your environment
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
I have a feeling that it is personal as well.
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
it's not something I can solve cuz I don't really know how nodemon works
eheh
the good thing is that you don't need to use nodemon
and it works with node alone
also
you can use pm2 too
sometimes I use that too
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
OK.
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
it also has a watch option, just like nodemon
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
I can try with pm2
Thanks for bearing with me.
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
if you really need auto-refresh
then pm2 should work
there's also a pm2 config file inside hilary
cat process.json
there you have it
just change the cwd key to your own
and then it should be something like pm2 process.json
the remaining flags should work fine
the pm2 project has excellent documentation if you need to go further
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
OK. That is helpful. Cheers!
Miguel Laginha
@brecke
no problem
say something if anything else fails or if you have any doubts
talk to you later
ZedMcChen
@ZedMcChen
Will do. Thanks! Laters.
