OpenCRVS is now available as a digital public good for civil registration! See www.github.com/opencrvs/opencrvs-core for source-code and info on how to deploy, configure and customise for the country context. Designed for low resource settings, OpenCRVS provides governments with a user-centric, rights-based and fully interoperable civil registration solution that can be deployed, operated and maintained by local teams.
Thanks to collaborating partners Plan International, Jembi Health Systems, Vital Strategies, Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) at the United Nations Foundation and PATH on their vision to ensure that every individual on the planet is recognised, protected and provided for from birth.
Already piloting in Bangladesh and with a proof of concept in Zambia, the next step is to build local capacity to implement OpenCRVS and create a vibrant developer community to further develop the product and support scaled implementation across multiple countries.
