Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh I just updated our server with a bunch of improvements, including basic tiles support working (though I still to work on those new tile sets resources)
Brad Hards
@bradh
My point is that there is a thing that says "shows if X between minScaleDenominator and maxScaleDenominator vales", but there is nothing in the Recommendation that says what X is.
Its magic inferred knowledge from Styles API, and the old WMS protocols.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
geospatial extent & dimensions based on a convention of 0.28 mm/pixels gives you the scale denominator.
Brad Hards
@bradh
I think we just agreed ;-)
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh my point is we need to specify the data max resolution in {collectionId} :)
Brad Hards
@bradh
I don't care (much) where you put it, but that definition magic needs to go into the spec somewhere.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh for sure... along with examples making it easy.
The TileMatrixSet standard already talks about it because a scale denoinator is used
The SLD/SE spec uses scale denominator so should also mention it
if for Common - Part 2: GeoData we specify max resolution as a scale denominator, then yes I agree that also needs to explain the magic 0.28mm/pixel.
if it's maxResolution in meters/pixels then that's not needed.
(though it would still be convenient to mention the equivalence with the traditionally used scaleDenominator for WMS / TMS / SLD/SE... )
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
Hmm, Feature Map ?
/items/{itemId}/map ?
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
Got some improvements going... And some OpenStreetMap tiles being rendered (rendering still needs to be improve a lot still though...) -- https://maps.ecere.com/ogcapi/collections/osm:ottawa/map/tiles/WebMercatorQuad/15/11732/9491
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
Got some OS OpenMapLocal tiles going: http://maps.ecere.com/ogcapi/collections/OpenMapLocal/map/tiles/WebMercatorQuad/15/10895/16384?transparent=false , rendering still needs a lot of improvements...
Brad Hards
@bradh
@ghobona I'm trying https://github.com/opengeospatial/OGC-API-Sprint-July-2020/blob/master/docs/Draft_Spring_Guide_for_OGC_API_Maps/Draft_Spring_Guide_for_OGC_API_Maps.adoc and it assumes a yaml OpenAPI source file that is not in evidence. Can you add that?
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
I notice there is a lot of overlap between the Styles API and the /map end-point... e.g. listing all styles and links to the style sheets.
I wonder if we could combine those resources...
(when both the Styles and Map API are integrated)

@ghobona
@joanma747 @jerstlouis @bradh @pomakis I have prepared a draft blog post. Could you please revise the paragraphs that describe your implementations? Please keep the paragraphs below 100 words in length. I plan to send it to the Marketing team for publication on Friday 14th August.
ghobona
@ghobona
@bradh I have added a link to the maps.yaml file to Step 2.
Keith Pomakis
@pomakis
@ghobona , I think the paragraph describing CubeWerx's implementation is adequate. Thanks.
Brad Hards
@bradh
@ghobona thanks for the yaml.
I'll pass on the marketing.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh Is it allright if I upload some of your client screenshots to the GitHub ScreenShots folder?
Brad Hards
@bradh
Yes. I just can't have it attributed to my employer - that requires approvals that I can't promise in a week.
I'm doing this on my own time.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh should it be attributed to you / OpenSphere?
Brad Hards
@bradh
OpenSphere is the project, and its OK to say that I extended OpenSphere with an external plugin.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
Cool thank you.
@bradh wondering if you had a chance to play with our server again? it should be better implementing the "Maps" specs, and it supports tiles too now, albeit with the new proposed layout that the specs have not yet been updated to.
Brad Hards
@bradh
Its still on my list, but I've been pretty busy with some other stuff. I'll likely loop back to it ahead of the tiles sprint, but not sure when.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
cool, Coverages sprint on Monday you mean?
Brad Hards
@bradh
I think there is a tiles sprint (September?). I don't really have much to provide on coverages for that plugin.
Tiles will likely work a lot better. Raster tiles over vector at this stage, but we'll see.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh no there's no tiles sprint planned, one happened back in April. September is Common & Features
Brad Hards
@bradh
OK. Then I'll have to have a private tiles sprint.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@bradh I'm in :)
Brad Hards
@bradh
@ghobona I made some changes.
Jerome St-Louis
@jerstlouis
@ghobona I added screenshots and included them in the Screenshots folder README page: https://github.com/opengeospatial/OGC-API-Sprint-July-2020/tree/master/Screenshots
ghobona
@ghobona
@bradh @pomakis @jerstlouis Thanks for the quick responses.
