@aeschylus @snydman here's a demo of the new item animation feature:

nice! Is zooming prevented on purpose here?

Well, every hundred milliseconds, it automatically calls goHome, so if you tried to zoom manually, it would be kind of frustrating.

I suppose if we wanted to be fancy, we could detect if you had zoomed and disable the auto homing.
Those test images aren't very hi-res, of course, but the same demo should work just as well with gigapixel images.
I suppose I should do a demo with the highsmith image and let you zoom in while it's animating.

how is the easing handled?
is it the original spring class?
Ian Gilman
@iangilman

It's just the same springs we use for zooming and panning.

And of course you can add your own animation on top using immediately if you want.

Interesting. I've set mouseNavEnabled: false; I would think it should disable pinch zoom.
Unless it's just the page zooming and not OSD.

Maybe the page haha. I'm in the gitter browser

Just looking at it now... yeah, I think it's the page. Otherwise you'd see it snap back with every goHome.

It feels just like my pinch zoom
Which is good :)

Indeed... you and Apple are in the same page.
For sure.
Anyway, I'm excited by the opportunities multi-image animation opens up :-)
