Is there an option for changing where the arrow thingies go for navigating through different tile sets? I assumed they would be affected by the navigationControlAnchor but they're not.

crswll: you are looking for sequenceControlAnchor

@alexpineda You want zoomPerScroll. Some discussion about the challenges of getting this right: openseadragon/openseadragon#470
I'm thinking it might be good to tone down the default though.

@crswll Thanks for the American Flag link...great find! Are you involved in that?

Adding it to "in-the-wild" and also tweeting: https://twitter.com/openseadragon/status/595267661174472704

@iangilman Yes. I did the code.
@iangilman Awesome!

Excellent...nicely done!
What's the significance of the filled in circles vs. the outlined circles?
Bill Criswell
@crswll
May 04 2015 16:54
It it's filled you already viewed it. I thought it was kind of a strange way to convey that.
Also, don't know why they wanted me to fill in the circle when you tap to zoom in.

Gotcha...yeah I didn't clue in. Now that I know, it's cool that you're doing something to indicate that.

A lot of little things about that I feel like could have been done better. Hopefully we're asked to do something else with it later.
Ian Gilman

May 04 2015 16:55
Yeah, I'd think you would indicate "been there" by making the circle lighter.

Well, I suppose we're all still learning the design language of such things.
Have you seen the Beehive Collective one?

The flag is on the OSD page now: http://openseadragon.github.io/examples/in-the-wild/
I've put it under "storytelling" since I think it's a good example of that, even though it involves history.
I like how they are handling the storytelling.

That is awesome. I wanted to add left and right arrows to navigate the hotspots on the star spangled banner but we didn't end up doing it.
This looks awesome though.

I'm trying to take advantage of the referenceStrip. I'd essentially like all the items in little boxes to the left (preferably like 100 by 100), is there a built in way to accomplish that or do I need manually handle that?

@crswll Have you looked at the various referencStrip options in http://openseadragon.github.io/docs/OpenSeadragon.html#Options ?
Bill Criswell
@crswll
May 04 2015 21:01
Yeah. I didn't have much luck with those. Going to mess around with it a bit more tonight. Though, generating the thumbs and using viewer.open(foo); is feeling a simpler
Ian Gilman
@iangilman
May 04 2015 21:05
Yeah, the reference strip is kind of a hack
I like the idea of replacing it with a plugin that's more advanced (but not build into OSD)
Bill Criswell
@crswll
May 04 2015 21:07
that would definitely be cool.
Ian Gilman
@iangilman
May 04 2015 21:11
...and ultimately maybe even have a few different plugins with different styles.
Btw, you should be able to use low levels in your image tile pyramids for the thumbnails...don't need to generate fresh thumbnails unless you want to

@iangilman Not sure I'm following that.
Ian Gilman

What image format are you using?
If it's DZI, you can grab level seven or so and it'll just be a single tile that makes a fine thumbnail. You'll have to resize it a little with CSS to get it exactly the size you want.
