Help! Ok folks, I am super bad at this. I just converted an image using Deep Zoom Composer. I have the output files and have no idea what to do with them. I was expecting a .dzi extension on something, but everything is XML.

@sandymclean point OpenSeadragon at the .XML file
but keep all of the files and folders the way they are; they need to maintain their structure.

@iangilman which .xml file? the Deep Zoom Composer tool output 3 .xml files (dzc_output, scene, SpareImageSceneGraph). My guess would be dzc_output.xml since the folder one level down is called dzc_output_files?

Also, has anyone been able to get openseadragon working with Meteor?

@sandymclean Yes, I believe dzc_output.xml is correct.

I don't know anyone else using OpenSeadragon in Meteor… Glad to hear it's working :-)

Meteor has a specific way of organizing code based on the folder structure

Cool; easy enough fix.

Initially I had the code in a folder that gets executed on client and server side. which started throwing reference errors on window. don't think there is a window on the server

Interesting. I haven't used it, but it sounds cool from what I've heard.

all aboard the Meteor.js hype train , my friend
i chose this solution because its pure js, just like meteor :D

Indeed… OpenSeadragon isn't set up to be server-side code.
:+1:
do share a link once you have something to show!

yea i need to put together a quick write up of it and post it to my thread on the meteor forums
i do have a quick question though
ill have my images stored on the server. this code will run on the client. will i have issues accessing those images?

That's the way it should be :-)

are they all on the same domain?
OpenSeadragon? Yeah, there's a bit of code in there.
Sandy
@sandymclean
Jul 17 2015 05:49
my plan is to have all images centrally stored on the server, same domain.

Cool. That should be fine. Just make sure you keep the folder structure Deep Zoom Composer created.

Jul 17 2015 05:51
yea. had a question about that
Ian Gilman
@iangilman
Jul 17 2015 05:51
If the images do need to be on a separate domain, it's a little more complicated, but still doable.
Sandy

seems like theres some bloat in there
have you used the composer tool lately?
Ian Gilman

I haven't.

All you need is dzc_output.xml and dzc_output_files; anything else can go
