In the 'onTileLoad' method there's a bit of code that checks to see if the image loaded and if not it displays a console message that the Tile %s failed to load. I don't see it firing an open-failed event anywhere. Is this just an oversight or is this as intended?
@gechols Sure, a tile-failed message would probably be a nice addition...just an oversight. It wouldn't be open-failed though, since it's not the entire tile source/tiled image that has failed, but just a single tile.
If the tiled image is a single JPG image rather than a DZ image do you want an 'open-failed' instead of a 'tile-failed' message? We have cases where the thumbnail image we are using requires authentication and without it we don't get the tile loaded. The effect is that the entire image fails to load.
I'm not totally sure I have access to that information at the point of the failure so it may be a moot question
Well, by that point we will have already delivered the "open" event, so perhaps it's too late for "open-failed".
Another thing people ask for sometimes are events for when the first tile is loaded, and when all necessary tiles for the current viewport position have been loaded. Perhaps as part of that subsuite we could add a "all tiles failed" event
Unfortunately the 'tile-failed' event would be firing too late for me to do anything about the problem so I'm abandoning the attempt in favor of preventative measures. I can check the image for permissions before submitting it as a tiledImage
