Searched for "openslide" - "I got nothing". Is anyone using OSD with openslide as the tile source in dynamic mode? I would like to avoid all that pre-processing and tile storage - is hard on my servers. Are there any downsides to OS dynamic mode?

@dwrogers You probably want to talk to @bgilbert (who is evidently not in this chatroom, but who is on GitHub)...he works with both OpenSlide and OSD.
In other news, yet another way to create DZI, this time from PHP: https://github.com/jeremytubbs/deepzoom

Has anyone done work with a data service for OSD? I need a cursor log and a viewport log. Is this something that would be a plugin for OSD?

I would need a few client-supplied fields (such as participantId, pluginVersion) to be passed to the log service as well as a timestamp, mouse positition, viewport position and size (in image coordinates).

@dwrogers I don't know of anyone who has done it, but it shouldn't be too hard (OSD has good events)...does seem like it would be a nice plugin

basically, it very simple: just need send mouse events and OSD current map state - zoom and bounds to server
hm... or only bounds

@VoidVolker Is that answer for "using OSD with openslide as the tile source in dynamic mode?" That does sound pretty simple! :-)

@dwrogers No, I think that's for logging

@VoidVolker @iangilman Darn! :-) I was thinking of the other server - the dynamic tile server...

@dwrogers what exactly you need? why you need server? just slice image via script and use it in OSD
and place tiles on server
for slicing you can use my special script - https://github.com/VoidVolker/MagickSlicer ^_^

@VoidVolker Ah, I have gone that route before. It becomes a drag to move around directory trees with hundreds of thousands of tile files per slide. If I can just work with a single native .ndpi or large tiff file, I would consider that a huge win. openslide is purported to have a dynamic tile facility which does just that.
