    @austinlparker
    how would we go about changing dns over to netlify?
    @tedsuo i believe github pages is deploying it off the gh-pages branch
    Yuri Shkuro
    @yurishkuro
    http://opentracing.netlify.com/ - it's already building
    once you merge 2.0 to master it should build the new site
    then repointing DNS is easy
    any blockers to merge 2.0 to master?
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    i’m doing a final pass fixing broken links, should be done in a few hours

    @tedsuo
    @yurishkuro can you send us DNS info for opentracing.io? Looks like namecheap maybe?
    (DNS account access I mean)
    Yuri Shkuro
    @yurishkuro
    I don't have access to domain name account, I assume Lightstep bought it (shoudl've been transfered to cncf)
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    Hm, ok. Thanks!

    hey y’all just wanted to make sure folks in here were aware of the work i’m doing on creating a registry for tracers and projects and such - you can follow along at opentracing/opentracing.io#343
    would love any feedback or thoughts on the direction it should go

    @xackery
    Howdy.
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    hello
    Logan
    @xackery
    I'm trying to figure out the best place to ask this question.. I guess docs may help.. but basically, I know the Inject example on the website is a WIP. I wasn't sure if there's some loose notes on this, or if I should browse the source? (Doing an inject/extract in go is what i'm trying to accomplish)
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    that has a pretty straightforward example and explanation of inject/extract in go
    Logan
    @xackery
    Yeah.. It's all using the HTTPHeader format, however. I'm trying to discern the Binary format option. since i'm using some non HTTP type communications. Looks like basictracer-go may have code related, even if it hasn't been touched for 4 years ish
    In source of opentracing-go all the binary references are just in the mock tests, and note it as unsupported
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    Ah, yeah, hm
    Logan
    @xackery
    I may just ground up something worst case. I'm sending payloads across a NATS request, it's packing a proto marshalled binary so i just need to inject/extract the data into protobuf. I've also been looking for a GRPC implementation with opentracing, since a lot of the methodology of what I need is probably overlapping a package using that. There's one but the examples are python/java, made by @tedsuo it seems. If I have to write my own implementation to satisfy the interface that's fine, just dont' want to repeat work if it is existing already. :)
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    yeah i think you’re gonna find most of the good examples of it done in java or python. you could check out how jaeger does it? https://github.com/jaegertracing/jaeger-client-go/blob/master/propagation.go
    it sounds like an interesting use case though - i’d encourage you to keep notes and consider writing a blog post or a gist about it!
    Logan
    @xackery
    that's perfect actually. They don't expose that code to be used as a library, but they're implementing what I have been looking for.
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    awesome!

    @austinlparker

    looks nice :)
    is it getting merged "soon"? I might mention it during my "Introduction to OpenTracing" session next week
    Austin Parker
    @austinlparker
    ideally in the next couple days yeah.
    Ted Young
    @tedsuo
    Hi @/all. With the registry launched, v2 of the docs and website are now complete! We still need to refine content and fill in the remaining language guides, but that can be done incrementally. To that end, I’ve canceled the weekly docs call for the time being. I’d like to start up more regular API discussions and start hosting office hours; docs questions can be included there for any face-to-face discussion we want to have.
