Hi everyone, I'm Mfon Eti-mfon, an intermediate Pythonista looking to collaborate with exceptional problem solvers and to learn from them. I'm here from Outreachy, and I look forward to having a great time in the Oppia project.

@U8NWXD I've followed the instructions at https://github.com/oppia/oppia/wiki/Installing-Oppia-%28Windows%29 and I've gotten Oppia installed on my PC (Ubuntu 18.0.4 on WSL2).

However, on running python -m scripts.start I get notice the following error in the log:

ERROR in ./core/templates/third-party-imports/ui-tree.import.ts
Module not found: SyntaxError: /home/mfonism/codeville/osspython/oppia/oppia/third_party/static/ui-tree-2.22.6/package.json (directory description file): SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input
 @ ./core/templates/third-party-imports/ui-tree.import.ts 17:0-60
 @ ./core/templates/pages/topic-editor-page/topic-editor-page.module.ts
 @ ./core/templates/pages/topic-editor-page/topic-editor-page.import.ts

I can access the Google App Engine endpoint at but nothing is shown on my browser for the Oppia root endpoint at (l've noticed lots for 404s and 304s for static files).

Please can you tell whether there's something I'm missing out in my setup that will resolve this issue?

@Remilekun-Odegbami thanks. please which project no are you contributing on?
Riya Sogani
Hi Everyone! I am Riya Sogani, mentor for Project #1. I would like to clarify a few things. IF YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO PROJECT 1, 1) You do not need to fill out any forms given on the Oppia GitHub page. We will not be using GitHub in this project. Everything you need to know to contribute to the project is mentioned in the Project details. There are 4 required tasks mentioned. For each task, you need to create a contribution on your Outreachy portal. The Contribution URL for each task would be a link to a google drive where you have uploaded the document/spreadsheet for that specific task. GitHub will not be used anywhere. 2) I have tried my best to reply to all questions in this chat regarding Project 1, but if I have missed yours, or if you have any more questions please email me at soganiriya@gmail.com so that I don't miss it.

@bcubeclassics_twitter I got it from a link that was pasted earlier here.

I have a question please. Must all surveys be online? I plan on doing offline surveys for all the kids I am to work with and I don't know if this is acceptable. Underprivileged children may not have access to data and a laptop so I want to use mine to ensure the survey is carried out. Hope this is fine.

How do I convince parents to assist their kids when they are taking the survey? Most parents are complaining of lack of time

Hi, I ran all the backend and frontend tests locally and all of them passed however a lot of e2e tests failed. Note that I haven't made any of my own changes yet.. can anyone help in identifying the errors / failures that matter and the failures that are to be ignored.. thanks a lot (@vojtechjelinek )

Please any tip or pointer will be greatly appreciated.

How can we remove ImportError : no module named __ (insert various module names) due to sublimelinter-pylint when opening python files in sublime text? I first got the error for module pylint_quotes, installed it using pip, now a module scripts is being displayed in the import error.. I opened the file where the program exits - /home/ria/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/astroid/modutils.py" and found this comment - "# pylint: disable=import-error, no-name-in-module" . So it seems like a common issue that needs to be ignored right? Or not?
Kai W.
Chose project#2, and I was setting up WSL2 on my windows10, everything went well, except for the node.modules error warning that @aisha-ilyas also encountered and two other errors under it about angular with regard to the use of System.import() which I ignored after googling the error and read it can be ignored (I hope it's okay to have ignored that).
I was trying to run e2e tests using python -m scripts.run_e2e_tests --suite="users" but it says /usr/bin/python: No module named scripts. Has anybody encountered this and what worked for you?

If I am working with siblings, how many consent forms are parents suppose to sign?
