    @clarkerubber
    This seems more featureful than hangouts.
    Gordon Martin
    @Happy0
    Aye... I guess we can see how it plays out! Regardless of how its used, I can see us still making a lot of use of IRC :p
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    That's true. :P
    Unihedro @Unihedro doesn't like emojis though
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro

    Interesting...

    @Unihedro
    markdown is nice!
    not really the same set though, with the github flavour

    @Happy0
    I'm using android at the moment so I have a feeling that all the features aren't visible to me at the moment :p
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    I'll install the iOS app soon enough.

    @ProgramFOX
    oh hi
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    Welcome aboard!
    Thomas Daniels
    @ProgramFOX
    There was need for another room? :P
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    So I take it this is a public chat room and the other one is private?
    Thomas Daniels
    @ProgramFOX
    It looks like both this room and the IRC channel are public.
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    This room (gitter:ornicar/lila) is public, the IRC chan (irc.freenode.net#freenode) is also public, every other room we have are either staff channels or war rooms, which are private.
    Gordon Martin
    @Happy0
    I guess some people new to the project might be more comfortable coming here rather than irc :package:
    Argg, its determined to not let me use ':p'
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    yes, as lichess is a web-based interface, having a prettier UI may drag in users to chat with the devs in a easier fashion :p
    I can't find how to disable emojis. \:\P
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    Only downside is that they need a github account, right?
    I suppose that's not so bad.
    Keeps things more dev centric.
    Gordon Martin
    @Happy0
    Haha, indeed
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    At least now we don't have to ask for their github profiles because your messages are linked to your user. :P
    Unihedro @Unihedro feels like his arm gets stabbed every time an emoji pops up
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    Just type everything in code. Feels like command-line IRC. :P
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    Good idea. :P
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    Or blockquote everything. I suppose that works too. :D
    Nope.
    Code, definitely code. :D
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    codity code
    Thomas Daniels
    @ProgramFOX
    Currently there is no other way to disable emoji than to put it in code, it seems: gitterHQ/gitter#164
    Unihedron
    @Unihedro
    +1'd it
    oh also this chat has avatars
    James Clarke
    @clarkerubber
    Yea, nothing is going to beat the stream-lined coolness of IRC in a terminal window.
    Unihedron
