    @arekkas Ok, that makes sens. Thanks for your quick evaluation.
    Do you think it would be possible to do the slide handling in a separate ui and in edit mode only show one selected slide which can be edited (like one div, without sliding etc.)?
    Or are your concerns already also regarding to this?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    yes that should work!
    the most important part is to not mess with resize/layout as that can really break the whole thing (unfortunately). I wish browser were better at handling this

    @jonas-arkulpa
    @arekkas Ok thx. In this case I'll attempt it this way.

    @aftabnaveed
    Hi can I integrate this editor with a backend such as PHP or Python? For example when I finalize the editing I want to save that on a server for later editting.
    is it possible?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    why shouldn’t it?

    @aftabnaveed
    Sorry let me put my question in a different way, sorry for not being clear before. If I want to split the entire body content into multiple blocks and submit each block independently. Is it something which can be easily achieved?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    yes
    Aftab Naveed
    @aftabnaveed
    : ) cool thanks.

    @aeneasr
    you’re welcome. the example from the repo actually shows how to retrieve and create different editables (what you call blocks)

    Hi I created a dynamic plugin which updates the state after it is mounted. But this async data is not available in editor state. How can I get that data?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    @rashid-aslam use onChange to update the editor state at any time
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    thanks

    how to upload images from local to server ?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    you will have to write your own plugin for that

    hi how to create a button to simulate "Preview result" button ( EnhancedButton [toggle button] )? i want to trigger this button in order to make my editables readonly and then save my page
    manelis
    @manelis
    hello. Sorry for the uninteresting question that you probly get a lot, but i can't seem to understand what are the actual dependencies of the editor. Would it be possible to use this client side on a normal php website (without react) or is it tied to react and node?

    Hi, I would like to keep the plugin toolbar open permanently. How can I achieve this?
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    @arekkas any idea on it?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    which one? the text editing one?
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    keeping the plugins toolbar open permanently
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    oh the one on the left?
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    yes
    that comes in when you press the + icon
    @arekkas
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    ok currently no way to do that because the the drag and drop layer has to be activated in order for the sidebar to work
    but I can see how that makes sense
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    i see... i was thinking if we could just bring it out of edit and insert mode, then it should work but...
    what do you think the complexity of this change?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    very complex
    one possibility is to write your own custom plugin toolbar and if you detect a ondrag, set the editor mode to insert
    but it could be buggy and racy
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    but then my toolbar would also need to implement this drag/drop feature
    and without it, editor would be useless
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    not really, you can either modify the existing code or copy it or whatever, you would have to dig into the internals though
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    yeah, i had forked the repo hoping it would not be complex :)
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    so changing the way display modes work is very complex
    triggering insert mode when you detect the drag operation should be easy but you would have to test it a bit to see if there are racy issues
    rashid-aslam
    @rashid-aslam
    alright, thanks

    Hey there! I had a quick question for you guys.
    I forked the Slate plugin example and have customized it to add extra fields to it.
    I can successfully add and edit fields of this plugin in the Ory Editable, and see it display when I "preview results".
    The issue I'm facing is these extra fields are not displaying when I pass it through the HTMLRenderer. However, the editorState (what was in the WIZIWIG) does.
    Is it possible to extend the capabilities of slate by adding new fields? How would you suggest I go about it? Is passing plugins to Slate a step in the right direction?
    hackerman
    @aeneasr
    Could be a bug in the HTMLRenderer
    Michael Machiah
    @MichaelDM
    Hi Aenas, thanks for your response!
    I managed to get to the bottom of it yesterday. HTMLRenderer is all good :)
    I was just not passing all the props I needed from 'serialize' and 'deserialize' functions in hooks.js.
    Works great now!

    @aeneasr
    oh, perfect! :)
