@jschleuss
@maning congrats to you and Mapbox for hitting it so hard at the end
also lets think about closing labuingsimport.com, this was created as a stopgap since tasks.openstreetmap.us does not support what we want when we started

hi - Brian in Berkeley here
.. I have the microsoft release, and various County and City 2D building polys for California.. in PostGIS in a clean and orderly way
.. as part of a research project ..
Brian M Hamlin
@darkblue-b
the methodology here is .. divide California into 8 planning zones, based on the regional govt councils. So for those that now the acronyms.. SCAG, SACOG, ABAG, AMBAG.. then the rest are divided.. San Diego is alone, Central Valley, Central Coast, Northern
stats on content are computed based on TIGER County COUSUB

@darkblue-b
also, we are releasing OSGeo-Live 10.5 today.. a curated, reference install of the FOSS geo tools from OSGeo.org and others.. these are the tools used internally for the data handing
I'm fine closing down labuildingsimport.com. You guys set it up and it was much appreciated. I would like to create a tasking site for SoCal tasks though
but it'd probably have a different domain

@jschleuss
I've also realized we still have Pasadena buildings. I think we can make it a local project. We avoided importing them first because each building was segmented apart.
Maning Sambale
@maning
would love to help on this too, I see other open building data similar to Pasadena and a generic/replicable workflow would benefit other imports across OSM
Jon Schleuss
@jschleuss
@maning That'd be great. I just feel like the "locals" have slacked on our end a bit and could help out more. I'll start looking at the data to prep and make issues/comments inside the Github repo. Thanks again for all your help on this.

@jschleuss
Pasadena buildings are prepped osmlab/labuildings#120
re: @almccon comment on importing as building:parts, we are reviewing the data now and will update the ticket. fwiw, this is a different approach to the previous import and we might need to communicate to the import list.

@/all we had to shutdown labuildings TM, we received reports of sql vulnerability. we are working with the TM devs to get this fixed. apologies for the short notice, we are planning to this anyway but again, apologies. I will update here and repo ASAP once we we have updates.
