I mostly work from OpenSuse, but this laptop I'm on right now is Manjaro
OpenSuse defaults to use BRTFS
I usually just use it for OS and then my home is XFS because it's faster
most of what I tend to screw up is my OS. :-p
elyphas
@elyphas
XFS ?
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
elyphas
@elyphas
cool I never heard about it, but sounds good
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
EXT4 is fine as well
elyphas
@elyphas
:)
opensuse use XFS?
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
running MongoDB or ArangoDB I make sure that the DB files are on an XFS since it tends to be much faster

OpenSuse supports EXT4, XFS, or BRTFS, but it will try to default everything to BRTFS if you don't manually change it
OpenSuse has the benefit of snapper that lets you manage snapshots on BRTFS and allows you access to them via Grub
it also creates a new snapshots before every update
elyphas
@elyphas
seems it is much better than debian in all senses
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
you can probably do all of that on Debian as well, but I'm not really a big fan of Debian
elyphas
@elyphas
why?
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
I only have Ubuntu on one machine anymore, and it's an old web server

I find a lot of the way they choose to do things annoying, but it's mostly just personal preference. I think it also hinders learning Linux.
elyphas
@elyphas
ah
well I use debian because makes me force to learn but sometimes it makes the advance more slow
elyphas
@elyphas
@darkfrog26 ;
I changed my Date to Long and all good.
Thank you the advice.
I am making serious advances now, :)
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
Good deal! Good luck to you.
elyphas
@elyphas
Thank you very much

@elyphas
@darkfrog26 ; Hi, could You give any idea about why the document is not find it?
this is my code:
the document is succesfully saved into arangodb
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
What output are you getting? I wouldn't think this code would even compile...
elyphas

Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
the way you're doing it can work, but it's a lot more complicated
the sample code I linked to is much simpler
granted, it does take a bit more set up
elyphas
@elyphas
:)

why aren't you modeling after the graph structure? https://github.com/outr/scarango/blob/master/driver/src/test/scala/spec/GraphSpec.scala#L156

but I will check it out the code, thank you.

Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
that's a lower level layer
elyphas
@elyphas
ah, :)
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
for complex libraries like this, I generally create multiple layers of abstraction to keep the code more manageable
it also offers flexibility if you need to do more advanced things the library doesn't directly support
the ideal though is to use the greatest abstraction as it should also be the easiest to manage and maintain
elyphas
@elyphas
I misunderstood the Graph in this context, I thounght it refers how to model graph
Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
yeah, that can be misleading
elyphas

the first time I see this

Matt Hicks
@darkfrog26
it's linked to from the README. :-p
elyphas
@elyphas
oh year saw it :)
