Depends on your linestyles etc.. but at the end, yes WPF is slow.
you said without subsampling but you might want to check out the Decimator property of the LineSeries

Yeah, I was doing subsampling by the window and "zoom" level but it is not the best in my opinion. Suggestions to were to go? Windows Forms?

try the Decimator first :)
maybe it will suffice
There is the oxyplot-sharpdx project but it is not usable as it is and in my experience it was not that performant

you have to look at the source but in summary it skips overlapping pixels
points not pixels.

Nice! I'll keep testing along next week. If WPF can also be a problem in the future I might change it to something else but now this is secondary
