    @iBeliever It looks like greenisland v0.8 is out. Do think it will fix some of the upstream issues we were waiting on?

    @/all Hey everyone, as you may have seen on GitHub, Papyros is merging with Hawaii to form a new OS with similar goals, and is currently codenamed qmlOS. You can find a screenshot of the desktop environment here: https://github.com/qmlos/shell. we're keeping the project mostly under wraps until we have a first release, which is why there's no formal announcement on Google+ yet. If you're interested in contributing in any way, such as testing, translations, or actual code, let me know and I can send you an invite to our Slack channel.

    @oKcerG
    hey @iBeliever , I'm mostly interested about qml-material, will it abandoned in profit of qmlos/fluid ? Is fluid meant to be a material design library in QQC2 ?
    anyway I'm interested in a slack invite
    Pier Luigi Fiorini
    @plfiorini
    hello, hawaii guy here
    @oKcerG fluid is the hawaii components library based on QQC2 and we are merging it with qml-material
    @oKcerG TL;DR: fluid is qml-material for QQC2
    oKcerG
    @oKcerG
    cool that was greatly needed. I'll contribute happily.
    Pier Luigi Fiorini
    @plfiorini
    cool
    oKcerG
    @oKcerG
    how will the merge will actually happen ? just abandon qml-material or something else ?
    Pier Luigi Fiorini
    @plfiorini
    fluid is a replacement of qml-material
    there are API changes mainly due to QQC2 changes over QQC1
    oKcerG
    @oKcerG
    my question is that you are saying that you are merging fluid with qml-material, what does that mean ?
    Pier Luigi Fiorini
    @plfiorini
    we moved some qml-material code into the fluid repository
    oKcerG
    @oKcerG
    ok, and now qml-material will be abandoned then ?
    Pier Luigi Fiorini
    @plfiorini
    yes qml-material will be discontinued
    oKcerG
    @oKcerG
    ok
    @plfiorini Can I have one of those Slack invites :) ?
    Michael Spencer
    @iBelieve
    @oKcerG I can get you an invite - can you send me your preferred email in a direct message?

    @iBeliever after i see your msg, shall i stop building "https://github.com/papyros/papyros-shell" and head to "https://github.com/qmlos/shell"

    I'm trying to build "papyros-shell" using the guide here "https://github.com/papyros/papyros-shell/wiki/Compiling-on-Debian-based-systems", But i get "Could NOT find NetworkManager" I already installed package "libKF5NetworkManagerQt", when i run "cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr" so what i'm missing here ? (Ubuntu 16.04)
    Appreciate your help. Thank you :smile:

    Long time before is has been born

    Shame, it's beautiful
    Looks like I'm sticking to plasma
    Marcin Wieczorek
    @MarcinWieczorek
    Gnome 3 user here. I'd love to switch to material design :c
    Mihai
    @mihaiqc
    Yeah it's a nice theme
    Pantheon can be okay but I'm sick of people asking me if it's a hackintosh

    it seems that new thing is https://github.com/lirios
    Marcin Wieczorek
    @MarcinWieczorek
    Well, telling by the screenshot in the readme it's no better than plasma

    @mihaiqc scroll up a bit and you'll find the answer to your question ;)
    Ben
    @bes1002t
    is it not possible to kill the papyros linux distribution and focus on the desktop environment?
    This would be the first desktop environment which could be the breakthrough for linux for windows users who don't wanna use windows anymore. The new and better gnome.
    Marcin Wieczorek
    @MarcinWieczorek
    @bes1002t every env is a breakthrough. Poeple use Windows's desktop environment cos they have to. We have something suitable for everybody, from i3 to GNOME3
    I agree though. Papyros should be distributed as an option for desktop environment and not an OS
    Mihai
    @mihaiqc
    Are they going to copy papyros's file manager?
    Liri's file manager looks pretty bad compared to papyros
    Tim
    @timsueberkrueb
    @mihaiqc what do you mean specifically? Liri's file manager is just the continuation of Papyros' files app.
    Micael Andre
    @micaelandre
    The project is still under development?
    162.243.84.39 failed
    Tim
    @timsueberkrueb
    @dmicaelandre Papyros merged with Hawaii OS and the Liri Project to form Liri OS. See http://github.com/lirios/, http://liri.io/.
