@yozik04

If you will figure out I would be more than happy to see a page in our wiki about that =)

just talked to the installer. he'll come next week and we'll work on it (perhaps go your way, and use the PGM). will come back with the results

:thumbsup:

another rather unrelated question: I see that there is no HASS autodiscovery for keyswitches (it should create a switch entity in HA)

I do not have keyswitches so it would be really hard to do anything.

Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
I understand. then manual switch works just fine for now :)
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
I need to find time to wire my gate to a PGM on my panel.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
I see that there is a pretty big delay from the time I active the keyswitch until PAI catches the event (can take a few good seconds)
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
Want to ask Siri to open the gate instead of a remote and my panel has spare PGMs on it.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
yeah, so you're not having enough time for all the stuff you'd like to do :) I understand you
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04

I see that there is a pretty big delay from the time I active the keyswitch until PAI catches the event (can take a few good seconds)

That probably can be fixed if panel sends a live event regarding that.

Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
it should, because if I test the keyswitch in Babyware as panic input, it gets triggered instantly
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
just capture these debug messages and send them to me. Or better create an feature request.
If there is a live event then PAI receives it, it just does not know what to do with it.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
alright. do I find in the wiki how to capture the debug messages ?

I know an Paradox installer, maybe I can talk to him to help. But I'd need to know how to create these captures, if he's willing to help

no Paradox installer would help you as they have NDAs and the thing is too technical for non hacker to figure out =)

if you have anyway some suggestions on how to do it, I can talk to the installer when he gets here. costs me nothing to ask

Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
just configure pai to log debug messages, restart it and use your keyswitch while looking into the PAI log.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
ok
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
there should appear something within 1s after you use the keyswitch.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
would be helpful if the pai.conf example logging level setting would link to where we can find the accepted values. like so:

LOGGING_LEVEL_CONSOLE = logging.INFO # See documentation of Logging package: https://docs.python.org/3/library/logging.html#levels

Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
:)) yeah. something like that
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
=) maybe some day there won't be pythonic config at all...
We should switch to yaml or json eventually. Current one has too many constraints.
We can not instantiate multiple interfaces of the same type, we can not pass notification configuration to home assistant and a lot more.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur

=) maybe some day there won't be pythonic config at all...

correct. I did not see it right in front of me

I see. there's room for alot of improvements :D
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
=) yeah, I'd rewrite it all. The code is too coupled and it is very hard to introduce new features.
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
I really need to learn Python... I'd love to help
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
But I will need to divorce to do that. :laughing:
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
:)))
PAI is good as it is :D
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
it does its main job quite well...
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
indeed
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur

@1nutty1

@yozik04

@1nutty1 I see you have solved it already according to the post in "[Home Assistant Community] [Home Assistant OS] Community Hass.io Add-on: Paradox Alarm Interface" thread.

Only partly, I can set them to bypass but I cannot see the status change in Home Assistant. When the alarm is disarmed and bypassed goes back to false the switch I have in Home assistant does not change...

Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
@1nutty1 What panel you have?

@1nutty1
@iondarie Did you come right?
Ion Darie
@iondarie
@1nutty1 yes i found my problem but after a short while i came to my senses and deleted HomeAssistant and have gone back to Homebridge =))
1nutty1
@1nutty1
@iondarie Each to their own, Homebridge didn't quite do it for me.
Claudiu Bucur

@yozik04 does "Combus speed" changed to High help anyting ?
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
No idea
It is internal communication between modules
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
ok. thanks. leaving it as it is then
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
Uou van try and let us know if you feel any difference.
You can try*
Claudiu Bucur
@clau-bucur
ok then. I'll enable it and see if it changes or breaks anything :))
