yes... the top 2 lines was as supplied by you/wiki, the last 2 is what I'm changing them into. so you saying 1 is opposite 3 and 2 opposite 4 implies they exactly what i though they should be ?
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
Yes
Actually not
Your config tells:
All events which are live and are NOT trouble or clock
Mine tells all events which are live and troubles, but not clock
There can be other live events. you will receive zone triggers if you have set event levels to a info or debug level.
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
You need to whitelist specifically what events you want and remove default conf.

@georgelza
i want alarms and arm/disarm's
alarms as in system was breached and which zone was breached
George
@georgelza
changed to...
  • alarm,-restore
  • live,zone,generated_alarm=True+presently_in_alarm=True
  • arm
  • disarm
    understand this will give me when the system is armed, disarmed, when alarm is generated and tell me which zone created the alarm
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
Should be
George
@georgelza
implemented, will advise how it goes...
thank you

@georgelza

ok... so sorry for this very sarcastic comment now...
to keep using Paradox IP150 email notifications...

ok. so you go onto your google account, go security, enable 2FA auth.
Once that is done it then presents you with a App Password option.
Select, then Select Generate. select mail from first drop down, then Select Other from the 2nd drop down, give your app a name and click Generate, it will now generate a 16 digit password.
Go back to your app, and change your current password for this 16 digit password and bobs your uncle... all keeps working on port 25 without TLS or StartTLS or anything else.

ha ha ha... got to laugh.

Wasn’t it the only way it worked for a half of a decade?

nah, you were always able to use your account password.

I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been asked a millions times. How do I include the name of a zone that triggered the alarm in a notification? I'm using 2.7.1, HA 2022.6.6 and sending push notifications out using the notify service.

hi all. I'm very new to PAI. I'm curious about the best practices of connecting via serial-usb cable. I'm trying to connect my paradox Magellan mg5050 to a mini x86 PC running Linux via a serial ttl to USB adapter. As I've read on the github PAI docs the rx/tx levels should be 5v but for some strange reason my only adapter I have is 3.3v. So before buying another one with 5 volts ttl levels I thought I could also try an adaptation using optoisolators, since that's what people do anyway (I hear) in order to protect their panel from harm. So my question is what is the maximum baudrate useable with MG5050, so I can figure out a suitably fast optocoupler. But ... first of all, are optoisolated serial to USB converters really necessary or people are just exaggerating? My panel and my PC are powered from the same electrical 230v circuit and sit 1m away from each-other. The PC has a UTP cable that connects it to an Ethernet switch which is also used by some external surveillance cams, which could potentially be a source of electrostatic issues, thunder, etc. And the cams are powered via PoE from the switch. The PC has an external isolated power supply, similar to those bricks used by laptops, so no ground wire goes to its metal case. I'm not sure this whole contraption has enough grounding ... Seems like maybe this is a good case to opt for optoisolators ? :) Thanks
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
baud rate is 9600
Adrian Nistor
@anistor
can it be increased ? do you happen to know what is the maximum for MG5050?
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
It is fixed
Evo has two possible bauds
Adrian Nistor
@anistor
thanks! in that case, for 9600 even some of the lowest spec optocouplers should work
but does it really make sense to use optocouplers? maybe you've read my case it the prev. message @yozik04 . wdyt?
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
I use IP150 module. Installed similar EVO panel for parents but connecting with serial port. Using cheapest USB2TTL cable. Did set jumper on 5V and it works. Sometimes loses connection and has to reconnect. But not critical. Regarding panel protection have no idea. Works for me.
My EVO cost was around 70€ so no big deal if it will die in experiments :)

Hello, I have MG5050 K025 with 433MHz Tx/Rx, is it safe to flash v7+ fw on it and buy IP150/IP150+? Anything I should know compatibility-wise?
Beylie
@Beylie
@yozik04 , just a quick thank you. A while back you explained that a PGM can be wired up (with a 1K resistor) to an input on the alarm (and then assigned to a zone) to be able to trigger the alarm from HA. I did that yesterday and it worked flawlessly! I now have a button that I can use to trigger an alarm with! Thank you again for the tip.

@Beylie

I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been asked a millions times. How do I include the name of a zone that triggered the alarm in a notification? I'm using 2.7.1, HA 2022.6.6 and sending push notifications out using the notify service.

Hi Mr Malherbe. I use the following in my automation:

service: notify.mobile_app_mi_11_ultra
data:
message: Alarm has been triggered by {{trigger.topic.split('/')[3]}}
title: ALARM TRIGGERED
data:
ttl: 0
priority: high
channel: alarm_stream
clickAction: /lovelace-mobile/cameras
sticky: true

My trigger is also MQTT:

platform: mqtt
topic: paradox/states/zones/+/presently_in_alarm
payload: 'True'

The + is a wildcard that will check for presently_in_alarm in any of your zones. The trigger.topic.split part divides the topic name. E.g. 0 = paradox, 1 = states, 2 = zones, 3 = the zones that has presently_in_alarm active. That is why it is set to ('/')[3]. It splits it on the '/' character and returns the 3rd value, in this case the zone name that triggered.

Hope it helps.

Good evaning. I would to know is it possable to connect a arduino on to the serial to upload a programing sheet?
Sorry im new and i posted my quistion befor it was compleat. I have to program 35 Paradox mg5050. And to do that 1 by on will take ages. So all of the would funcion the same way 5 pir and 2 door contacts. I know how to program but my issue is how to upload them all. I have babyware and the 307usb cable and a arduino.

I know that there are a large number of different security systems, but they don't all work well, can you advise something?
BillShiphr
@BillShiphr
I can only tell you about my experience and then it's up to you to decide whether you should choose it or not. I think it's still worth paying attention to the site https://customers.ajax.systems/ where you can read reviews about a company that provides security system services that really work great. Ajax can be easily extended with entry, fire and flood sensors, as well as relays for remote control of electrical appliances. You can purchase and add additional devices to the system separately. Detectors can be connected with a few taps in the mobile application.
Jevgeni Kiski
@yozik04
@BillShiphr I do not like products that have no alternatives. With this ajax you have to buy everything from them. With paradox I can install other brand wired sensors that are multiple times cheaper.

Is it possible to change the title of Pushover notifications from "Alarm" to something else somehow? I have multiple sites and it gets confusing if they both say "Alarm"
Screenshot 2022-08-17 at 16.11.14.png

Also any ideas how to fix this in logs?

I notice Pushover does not give me an "Armed" notification for Area 1 (Indoor), only an "in exit delay" notification which is why I checked the log. However it does arm successfully

you can control what events are sent. See wiki

thanks @yozik04. I will leave the PR's to those who know what they are doing :) If anyone is reading any knows how to implement this it would be welcome thanks :) For now is it possible to change the name "Alarm" in the code manually/hard code?

I did see the wiki thanks. Have changed event filters. It sends for Area 2 but not 1 interestingly. Will look into it more
