    oooo thank you
    so this outlines how to generate the qr code
    that should be readable by parity signer?
    is there any examples of this? @joshua-mir
    Thibaut Sardan
    @Tbaut
    if you ask for QR code generation, in Fether (that's compatible with Signer) we use an older lib originally built for Parity UI https://github.com/parity-js/plugin-signer-qr
    You can see an example here https://github.com/paritytech/fether/blob/master/packages/fether-react/src/Scanner/Scanner.js
    Val
    @valmack
    ok thanks. so the code is generated by this @parity/ui/lib/QrCode
    and the Fether Scanner would run on mobile
    @Tbaut if I want to generate the qr code on web I can use the plugin still right? and then using parity signer I should be able to sign it?

    @Tbaut
    @thevaleriemack Fether is a web/desktop app, so yes the library will work :)

    hell dev, i forget my PIN code, how can I reset it. I tried to reinstall App, but not work
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @clar do you have your seed phrase?
    clar
    @clar
    yes
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    Then you should just be able to delete the application data and restore your account from your seed phrase with a new pin.
    (create a new account, and replace the existing seed phrase with your old one,)
    clar
    @clar
    iphone, I delete the application and data. After I reinstall it , the account is still there
    clar
    @clar
    Fixed. Solution is to Add the old account again. However, I didn't figure out how to clean the data.
    Alexey
    @chain-police
    @joshua-mir you donโ€™t have to delete the application data even
    @clar there is a delete button in โ€œManage/Delete Account" in account details screen (in the bottom)
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @fckt you can't access that page without your pin, afaict? ๐Ÿ˜…
    Alexey
    @chain-police
    @joshua-mir hmm.. The old account should be substituted with the fresh one (with a new pin) in that scenario (cause the account storage is a hashmap<Address, Account>)

    if i wanted to use Parity Ethereum or Substrate to deploy a private, permissioned or consortium network, could i then allow users of Parity Signer to write transactions directly to the blockchain assuming i configured the network to allow that?
    or swap in Parity Signer with Parity Fether
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @zdcnyc_twitter yeah you'd need something like fether to actually broadcast the transaction - Signer only does signing, and offline at that
    ZC
    @zdcnyc_twitter
    @joshua-mir ok, cool. so i'd need to use both fether and signer?
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @zdcnyc_twitter yep (or the currently-in-development substrate equivalent).

    great, thanks for the help!

    @everyone How do I use the Parity Signer like it is been used in mycryto.com
    I want to use it in my own web application as well.
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @mickeymond you can probably check out their source, but if you are interested in the specifics, here's the spec: https://github.com/maciejhirsz/uos#legacy-ethereum-payload

    @joshua-mir Thank you very much for the info. I will have to study it and implement.

    hey! I have installed the signer v2.2-beta apk following tutorial. Does not seem to have kusama network option
    is there another version I should get?
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    @whalelephant are you sure you have the latest version installed? Kusama is the default selection as far as I can see
    You need 3.0.x, not 2.2
    bwty
    @whalelephant
    ah! I did not get v3.0.x
    Do I have to build it or can I find the apk somewhere?
    Link to google play store also unavailable at the moment
    joshua-mir
    @joshua-mir
    Ah! I just noticed it's a draft release on github ๐Ÿ˜… sorry
    If you sign up for the beta on the play store it should be available, but until then I'd wait for the new version to get out of draft status
    bwty
    @whalelephant
    @joshua-mir I don't have access to this I think

    Ah! I just noticed it's a draft release on github ๐Ÿ˜… sorry

    ah ok! no worries, I will try to build it

    Hello all, have a question. sometime ago I did created some acc, have the mnemonic and the old password, and a json file.
    1-when I recover an account from my seeds do i need to have the same passwords as my old password used to create the acc in the first place?
    2- does the PIN affects the recovery of an acc?
    I did created them with the parity signer.

    Hello, When attempting to restore my Polkadot account to Parity Signer using the mnemonic phrase, a account that is different from the account i want to access is loaded. I can view my account and its balance of Polkascan, but parity won't load it through the phrase. Can any one suggest anythign to help?

    Hi, just installed parity-signer on an old iPhone 4s, after updating to iOS 9.3.6. and the app doesn't open. It gets a white screen and just crashes. Is this a problem the team is aware of? Is there a solution?

    I did have wifi, Bluetooth all turned off.

    any help appreciated

    Hi,how can i deploy parity-signer on a linux service,not mobile?

    Hi, I have a quick question:

    Is there any reason why Parity Signer would be less safe/secure than the other wallets designed to be used on a connected phone, if the phone is connected? I.E. if Parity is not used as a cold storage, but is used as a hot wallet on a typical phone, is it still just as secure as alternative wallets?

    This might be useful to know, for example, if someone accidentally connects their phone which was intended only to ever be in an offline mode.

    More broadly, what sort of differences exist between Parity Signer and wallets designed to be used on a connected phone? (Perhaps this information could be useful if published online along with other information on the wallet.)

    Hi! I have the same question as @kcpool. I generated an account earlier (on an iPhone) using Parity Signer. When using the twelve word mnemonic seed to restore the account (on Android), it generates a different key pair. This also happens when working the other way around (generating an account on Android, then restoring the account on an iPhone). Many thanks for your help!
