    @diasdavid

    hackathon folks, BBQ food is coming!

    my PAZ went bersek, but my app deployed by PAZ is still running
    @lukebond for each service I deploy, I get a “-announce.service” is this another container running just for healthchecks
    ?
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @diasdavid this announce thing is kinda like a healthcheck, it's job is simply to grab the service's port with docker inspect and write it to Etcd, from which HAProxy is configured. i can come and explain it if you like
    David Dias
    @diasdavid
    @tomgco @lukebond where are the things to make it work with DNSimple? shouldn’t it be on Orchestrator ? https://github.com/paz-sh/paz-orchestrator/blob/master/resources/dns/controller.js
    @lukebond yes please :)
    Tom Gallacher
    @tomgco
    @diasdavid I thought it was
    @diasdavid let me check

    wrap-up blog post to come!

    @nlf
    is it expected that when changing the config for a service to scale either up or down, it leaves the old units running?
    seems counter intuitive to me
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @nlf It is counter intuib
    *intuitive
    Agreed. I just haven't got around to fixing it yet
    Something I'm working will fix it but have been so busy with work that I have no ETA. It's something like the kubernetes replication controller
    Nathan LaFreniere
    @nlf
    ah, neat, ok
    so far we’re really liking the idea of paz, it just has some little stuff (like that issue) to button up before i’ll really be in love with it
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @nlf Totally fair as things stand today!
    Nathan LaFreniere
    @nlf
    it’s a great start
    we’re also testing out flocker, which i like the feature set of quite a bit but the cli is terrible

    @jacyzon i'm taking a look at https://github.com/paz-sh/paz-web/pull/30#issuecomment-115304667 but i don't seem to be able to run it to take a look. i pulled your branch, ran npm install then bower install followed by $ PAZ_ORCHESTRATOR_URL=http://localhost:9000 ember server. i ran the orchestrator and dependencies with docker-compose.

    i get 22 JSHint errors and then this:

    File: /home/luke/Development/paz/paz-web/tmp/tree_merger-tmp_dest_dir-qcAfIziP.tmp/app/styles/_range.scss (3)

    i haven't touched paz-web in so long that i don't even remember what i'm doing

    Jason Chen YiZhang
    @jacyzon
    It seems related with this two commits: https://github.com/paz-sh/paz-web/pull/21/files paz-sh/paz-web@aac5ea
    I will take a look later on~
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @jacyzon oh not this problem again! there is something sass-related in the ember chain of dependencies that caused us (mostly @jongold) trouble a few months back
    Jason Chen YiZhang
    @jacyzon
    I have tried remove node_modules folder and then re npm install again, I did not encountered the problem...
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @jacyzon hmm strange i just did the same thing but i do still have the problem
    what does your start command look like? i have:
    $ PAZ_ORCHESTRATOR_URL=http://localhost:9000 ember server
    Jason Chen YiZhang
    @jacyzon
    My start command is PAZ_SCHEDULER_URL=http://paz-scheduler.paz:80 PAZ_ORCHESTRATOR_SOCKET=paz-orchestrator-socket.paz:80 PAZ_ORCHESTRATOR_URL=http://paz-orchestrator.paz:80 ember serve

    @arv1989
    are you guys still actively working on this?
    @lukebond @jacyzon @nlf ? I am thinking of using PAZ for my production environment ... please advise
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    In theory yes but I've been super busy. Want to join us and help out? @arv1989
    I would say today it isn't production ready but it isn't far away for basic stacks, eg a website
    arv1989
    @arv1989
    we have 3 mobile app backends... with a combined user base of 2Mn.. each of these apps are written in Node JS and with MongoDB as database. Right now we are running it from about 20 VMs in Azure.... and working on moving to docker-coreos environment... When I did some research, came across PAZ , I really like its simplicity.... we want to change the production env ASAP... what do you suggest? @lukebond
    Luke Bond
    @lukebond
    @arv1989 Check out the docs at paz.readme.io, try it out in Vagrant/VirtualBox, kick the tyres and open issues if you find problems or areas where it doesn't meet your needs :)
    Glad it looks interesting to you, thanks very much!
    arv1989
    @arv1989
    Thanks @lukebond , am looking into it

    @so0k
    I see logging is on the roadmap & with docker 1.8 log drivers seem to be very welcome
    I'm struggling to find info on when CoreOS will come with docker 1.8 though to try this out, anyone here know where I'd find this info? (sorry, this is not directly related to Paz)
    Sebastiaan van Parijs
    @svparijs
    Hey guys I've got all the unit-files running all the logs look fine but I get "503 Service Unavailable" in the web interface.
    Sebastiaan van Parijs
    @svparijs
    Anybody here? I'm having trouble getting the paz-web working.
    Sebastiaan van Parijs
    @svparijs
    @lukebond Hi there, currently I'm also investing time into getting PAZ up and running for my Development-2-Production Pipeline. Only thing is there is nobody around to give feedback in the issues I'm running into (the containers aren't running out of the box). Any chance thats going to change anytime soon?
    Jacob Gadikian
    @faddat
    @svparijs , I think that PaZ is stuck at the moment, but I can’t say that for sure...
    Sebastiaan van Parijs
    @svparijs
    @faddat yeah it seems so. Shame it shows so much potential... Does anybody know of a similar approach around on the net?
    Jacob Gadikian
    @faddat
    Rancher, Weave, Flocker, Kubernetes, Deis, Flynn
    but.... all are different in important ways.

    @tecnobrat
    :wave: does paz support canary style deploys? Where I can deploy out two versions of an application and choose to send x% of traffic to one over the other? And then maintain stickiness for those users?
