Enrico
@enricosoft
the sugar record docs is not very useful... I don't understand how can I import the library in code
for example "import SugarRecord" is not working
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
Try importing SRCoreData @enricosoft
Enrico
@enricosoft
Yeah, I already solved... Anyway Thank you! But I found another problems... like
SugarRecordLogger.currentLevel = SugarRecordLogger.logLevelVerbose
setting the logger level is not working
"currentLevel" doesn't exists
Enrico
@enricosoft
sorry guys but I'm new in ios development
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
I check later what's happening and help you with the log level @enricosoft

Why don't my "by" compile? Says "Extra argument EqualTo in call" "
let categories: [Categorization]? = Categorization.by("extID", equalTo: "100").first() as [Categorization]?

I'm new to coredata and have been using sugar record to help me learn my way around. going well so far! One question, do you have any tips for preloading some default data? I have about 200 rows of data that should be available when the app starts. Thanks!
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
Hello @arminta7 . Currently, there's no module focused on import that maps for example a Dictionary into a database model (we're actually working on it). In spite of that, you can do it using advanced operations: https://github.com/SugarRecord/SugarRecord/wiki/Advanced-operations-with-SugarRecord where you notify the context you started writing and then once finished all the import, notify the saving has finished. There's an example there with users. If it's not clear enough let me know and I can help you with a real example, or even with your example.

@arminta7
Thank you so much for the fast reply! I will try what you mentioned and come back if I get stuck. Merry Christmas!!

Any advice on using sugar record with a today extension? I've copied the shared files to a framework but I'm not sure how to access the existing database file that the app is using. I can only seem to create a new database with the same name but different file path.
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
@arminta7 I recommend not to use databases to share information with todays widget
Sarah Grady
@arminta7
Ok, thanks for the link!

How would I do nested sorting? Like sorting by group then within each group have the items sorted alphabetically? Thanks, and I am loving SugarRecord!
Sarah Grady
@arminta7
nvm, figured it out!
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
There's no option to group results into categories @arminta7 unless you use NSFetchedResultsController http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/core-data-from-scratch-nsfetchedresultscontroller--cms-21681

Luo Xu
@IanLuo

@yukithesnowman
Hi, I am new to SugarRecord and I am trying to integrate it to my app which has CoreData running fine. I have read the FAQ on operations and advance operations for SugarRecord, however I still do not quite understand how to use it. Are there tutorials/examples in Swift that I can refer? Thanks!
Azuan
@alienxp03
Based on the docs, it says that integration with Cocoapods is still experimental. Anyone tried it yet? Does it have any issues with Cocoapods?

Hi I'm struggling a bit with how to use this with cloud kit. I can't seem to save the information to the cloud. How must the schema and icloudappid be set up?
Pedro Piñera Buendía
@pepibumur
Good morning @/all I'm seriously thinking about adapting Sugar Record to:
  • Support Swift 2.
  • The last Realm version
  • Redesign the API and offer a reactive approach
does anyone want to help :smile: ? It would be the version 2.0 of SugarRecord
If any of you is interested, let me know, we can coordinate work together, can be awesome
