thanks John!
I will try to finish exercises 5 and 6 today, @Horusiath has been helping me reviewing the code and the way the F# API is used
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Feb 25 2015 00:28
nice, @Horusiath is the jedi master of F# in Akka.NET
Jorge Fioranelli
@jorgef
Feb 25 2015 00:29
@john-azariah-cba let me know if you have any feedback, the idea is to try to keep the F# code as close as possible to the C# one to reduce the amount of markdown changes. But at the same time, I wanted to keep it functional and clean F# code :)
@Aaronontheweb yep, @Horusiath was helping a lot!

@Aaronontheweb do you want to merge the latest changes to the FSharp branch before we start working on it?
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Feb 25 2015 00:37
yeah, why don't you send in a PR for it to the FSHarp branch
that way @john-azariah-cba can fork it from the main repo
Jorge Fioranelli
@jorgef
Feb 25 2015 00:37
@Aaronontheweb are the latest changes from master already there?
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb

When I signed up for the bootcamp I thought there would be daily emails arriving in my inbox. But so far there were none. Did I misunderstand something?

This I found helpful to get the latest changes to the bootcamp into my fork of the repo: http://www.hpique.com/2013/09/updating-a-fork-directly-from-github/
Andrew Skotzko

@ralfw No, you didn’t misunderstand something. We had a problem w/ the email setup and are going to turn them on shortly. Although it seems that many people did all of unit 1 at once (instead of doing a lesson per day) so not sure what valuet they’ll get from them.
to update your fork (on master branch), run this:
git fetch upstream
git merge upstream/master master
git push origin master
first you’ll also need to have set an upstream remote, like so:
git remote add upstream https://github.com/petabridge/akka-bootcamp.git

@skotzko I also did lesson 1-5 in a single day :-) Since you published them, why not? Yeah, the question is: What value could the daily emails add? Alternatively: They could point to different zip files so one gets the sources etc. incrementally. (Although I like the repo approach.)
@skotzko Updating my fork using the "visual approach" described in the link worked just fine. No need to get involved with git on the command line ;-)

heh
I guess I’m a lil old school on git command line
anyway
@ralfw thanks again for your review and suggestions on the unit 1 lessons. Incorporating a lot of that later today.
