@skotzko @Aaronontheweb do you mind adding some rss feed to https://petabridge.com/blog/ ? Got to know of it only today from the email (registered at bootcamp with). All those following on twitter, g+ etc would not replace old school universal rss feeds. Or is it just me behaving old fag? ;)

@Maximusya i asked the very same thing and got this as an answer http://petabridge.com/blog/feed.xml :P
annoying thing just now was that i had to export my whole feedlist from feedly to get to that address… can't see that stuff anywhere on their site…

@Maximusya @thomaslazar you know, this is an interesting datapoint for us
@skotzko and I both figured that most people didn't use RSS that much anymore
that it was all about emails subscriptions and twitter
good to know that there's still folks who use it!

@aaronontheweb i love my feed reader. Have most of my tech and gaming related news stuff I follow in there
I like to use Twitter more for talking to people then getting information about stuff. Biggest problem I have there is that I tend to miss stuff on Twitter. On my RSS feed it stays for a month or until I read it or decided I'm not interested.
And regarding mail. I get enough spam as it is sadly. Having to weed out the gold stuff from the spam is annoying as it is. That's why I don't subscribe to newsletters
Back when Google killed google reader I was struggling to find a viable replacement that is supported by my goto rss reader apps on Mac and iOS.

So yeah. Rss is imho still very relevant. I for my part don't tend to follow or read stuff that I can't rss sub.

that's a great piece of information for us Thomas
thank you!
wow, we have a big backlog of pull requests for bootcamp!
we'll go through these soon - we're working on getting a really fun demo together for our Akka.Remote training next week; once that's settled @skotzko and I will go through and give these PRs the time and attention they deserve.

doing a blend of peer-to-peer networking and client-server, which should be awesome!

For what it is worth, I would agree with @thomaslazar, RSS still very important. After Google Reader went away, I switched to using Feedly, and NextGen Reader, and haven't looked back. All my technical content comes through various RSS subscriptions.
