Hello, I'm not sure if it's how my environment is set up or what, but I seem to be having an issue with unit 1 lesson 4.

thanks
those changes were merged in yesterday since there was some confusion surrounding that exact lesson

Alright, this very well might be it. It appears the changes were added to the readme but not the completed code.

the original complaint that prompted this PR was backwards
completed code == right
readme == wrong
now you're saying it's the other way around?
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:26
Ummmm well my completed code isn't running correctly on my machine
the code in the "completed" folder
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:27
I don't have the latest on my machine atm
but going to try a smoke test real fast
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:28
alright cool
to me it looks like there is still a discrepancy between the readme and the completed code
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:29
the code works as-is in the completed folder for me
let me try pulling down the latest
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:30
ok
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:32
yep
works fine
so we're going to be clear about our language this time around
"Completed" code == what we shipped in the /Completed folder
true or false?
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:33
yes
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:33
because that's what I thought you were talking about
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:33
yeah that's what I mean
I'm running the solution from that folder
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:33
yeah, and it doesn't work?
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:33
not entirely
it loads the contents of the sample file
but then stops taking input
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:34
yep, and if you open that file and make changes to it
and save those changes
the new lines will be rendered onto the screen
since it's the flushing of the file's changes to disk
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:34
ohhhhhhhh

Mar 28 2018 20:34

twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:34
wait I think I was doing it backwards
hold on
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:34
:+1:
got it
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:38
yeah ok it's working
I was just not understanding how it was supposed to function
I thought the txt file was supposed to update based on what I typed into the cmd
Aaron Stannard
@Aaronontheweb
Mar 28 2018 20:45
ah gotcha
maybe we should add an animated gif
to that section
twyrostek
@twyrostek
Mar 28 2018 20:47
Yeah that might help. I think I just read through it too quickly.
Anyways, thanks for your help!
